Works as designed. I use the WD - Easystore 5tb drive as part of my inventory of external/portable drives to backup systems and data. I already have 1tb, 2tb, and 4tb drives. They have all worked as designed and are very portable and do not require external power supply (a requirement of mine). I do not keep the drives connected except when needed so I do not have experience with long term active use. Good speed and with the above limitation the 1tb, 2tb, and 4tb drives have been reliable. I expect same with the 5tb although I have had limited (days) experience thus far.

Excellent and easy to use backup device. No muss or fuss of separate power cord. Huge capacity, decent performance, low price... pretty good combination.

Purchased to back up my photos from Dropbox. It's hard to believe how a tiny box the size of a hockey puck could hold so much data and work so well.

I bought this because I needed to transfer HUGE amount of pictures, videos & documents from my desktop computer...to free up space. Its small & easy to use.

This 5tb WD Easystore external hard drive was great value based on price and company reputation. Im also a fan of Seagate hard drives but the metal on Seagate's gets very cold and I ignotlrantly question longterm external hard drive health bc of that. My PC once stopped recognizing a WD hard drive but when after copying to another WD. I always recommend backing inportant data with 2 external hard drives but have had good results with WD and Seagate. Store pickup was smooth. Thanks

Hooked up great to my Surface. I have a couple of these as I use for photography and they fill up fast. I feel like my photos are safe and easy to access.
