I love this little drive. Little in size but not in capacity. It is so easy to move files from one computer to another and for a backup of several computers. There is enough space to back up all 4 of my computers and still have space left. So far it has performed flawlessly and I hope it continues to do so. I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone who is looking for a good reliable drive for storage or backup or portability. I have always had great service out of Western Digital drives.

Very good storage. I wo not use the WD software available on the disk when you purchase it (easy to delete the software from the disk) as other software on the market is far superior. That said, having 5TB external storage for fast backups is very nice. This is a rotational-disk-based storage ddevice, so it will not be as fast as Solid State storage, but it does rotate at 5400 rpm and has a good transfer rate up to 5GBS with a USB 3.0. Just plug adn go!

5tb of storage in a very small case. Quite literally plug and play. Smoking great value. I should have purchased two more.

I use the external hard drive to store media files as well as serve as a backup for my system. It works on both my Mac and pc system. It is convenient and small for me to take on travel.

Needed a replac ement fora 1TB drive. Good price and a good brand- very reliable.

Works fine and the extra Tb over a four Tb version is an economical benefit. Western digital drives are reliable and this one is a very good value and definitely worth buying.

If you want a lot of storage (5 TB) in a small space and with a reasonable price, this is a great choice. I've used similar (2 and 4 TB) WD drives in the past for offline storage and have never experienced a failure, so I have high hopes for this one's longevity. It's not super fast (though it's plenty adequate). It also doesn't have hardware encryption which is fine by me. The primary value of a large capacity drive is bulk media/photo storage so encryption isn't needed and could hamper data recovery if there ever were a problem.

So far so good. I purchased this to replace the drive i use for Time Machine on my mac. I erased it for maximum storage and it seems to be working great. I will report back if anything changes.

Since I am an avid gamer I needed more storage (so as not to slow my system) because most games now are starting to push 100gb and you only have a 500gb or 1tb console. Well needless to say when I saw the deal on this 5tb external drive I had to jump on it. I was expecting something huge but to my surprise its about the size of a wallet and light. It came with the correct cable and was very easy to use, just plug and play. I've only had this since black friday but so far so good.

I have used these drives for backing up my system. I have had some of these for many years and they don't fail.

HDD is very portable and has enough space to handle all my files. I use it as backup to my working files. Will buy a second one if I run out of space.

Plug and play. Transfer rates were at expected levels and I also tried playback of videos connected directly to the TV. I've not had any issues along the way. Great backup device.

It’s a good value drive for the capacity and price. I’ve been using WD for a long time now and they are reliable for the price. If you need super reliability or super fast transfer rates this is not for you. It’s good for the typical user.
