Great hard drive for backing up photos. it's reliable and hasn't crashed on me yet. It's in a convenient size so it's very portable.

This one offers plenty of storage for storing all your home photos, videos and files! The portable form factor is what exactly I needed so I can put it into my small safe along with other important items. Has been working all these months without a flaw. I back up everything twice a month to this portable hard drive and had no worries about losing data.

Great product! It's light and the slim design fits easily in my laptop bag. I have a Mac and had to reconfigure it, which was an easy process thanks to the step-by-step instructions found on the WD website: https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20821. It comes with a USB connector, and I had to buy the USBC cables for my daughters' laptops, as I purchased one for them as well. I am currently using it to back up my laptop every week, and I love the fact I can access my files on my Mac or my husband's PC.

Needed to backupy files, pictures,and music from my laptop while I performed a refresh on the laptop. Easy to install and the performance was fine. Reviewed several models models and decided on the WD was on sale. Also, have used other WD hard drives in the past with no issues. Once done with the refresh, the laptop easily once again recognized the drive and was able to restore all my files. Easy set up and quiet operation. Planning on using to the WD EasyShare run several VM from it and store utilities.

Worked better than expected as an external drive. You can play games from your steam library right off of it, no problem. The only issue is that it goes to sleep when it isn't in use for a while, so it may take a moment to wake up again if you come back. For example, if you are playing something, pause the game, and then come back in 30 minutes then it may take a few seconds before you can resume while you wait for the hdd to wake up.

Contemplating getting this over name brand? Well this little hard drive packs a punch. 5TB hard drive with a great price point. I have had no issues and verified it is a true 5TB hard drive. Writes to the hard drive at great speeds with no issues. I would recommend this hard drive over a big name brand like Samsung.
