The WD 6TB is great for network backup of multiple computers and takes up less room on your desk.

This is a great hard drive. Really quiet and Loaded and connected to xbox real quick and easy.

6TB, embedded password protection and backup software, plug and play, what more is there to say. No need to keep pictures on one drive, documents on another, music on another and videos on yet another. Now just have two of these and keep a sync'd up copy of everything on both. Western Digital is one of the few brands of storage you can just set and forget and rely on for years to come. All your storage worries are over.

I mainly bought this to backup some datas that is important to me. And I back up quite frequently. My only concern is that it sometimes disconnect itself and cause error during process of copying files..

Purchased 2 of these to use in tandem for my own rigged backup system with the preintalled backup software which is super easy to use. No complaints at all!

This is my second 6TB storage device and the price was right, since it was on sale and the larger ones were not. Being a wildlife photographer and newspaper columnist, the pressure is on for a lot of photos and several are large files. This is a good simple way to do it. Everything can be retrieved quickly and they can be stored via several parameters for easy recall.

Regular backups are of critical importance to me. I am running RAID 1-0 which appears as an 8TB drive. For strange reasons using an 8TB My Book has been rough - error reports after a few days. But this 6TB version has been just fine. I am not over 5TB yet, so while the extra space would be nice, it's not an absolute need either. Can't recommend the 8TB but the 6TB is a solid performer.

It's such a pleasure to get an item, it installs easily, and it works right out of the box without a hassle. I purchase a lot of external NAS drives and installs don't always go so smoothly. I like the My Book 6TB a lot, we're 100% satisfied in every way.

My primary reason was to consolidate date from numerous older hard drives before re-formatting and re-purposing them. Works like a charm and other than it's appearance (the style isn't to my taste) it was the best bang for the buck for storage options.

I am 71 years old and to me it was very easy to load more over 10,000 of my old pictures and more that 75 old videos and still have more 2 TB, and very easy to work with it,. Excellent to keep all your computer files and all of you cell phone files, beautiful piece of art.

I like WD My Book for storage capacity and price. WD My Cloud is a bit more versatile for the cloud accessibility but WD is a great brand.
