I bought this to replace my old HP external drive when it died. This is really a great drive. I use Unix as my OS and I had no issues with the drive reading into my system at all.

I bought this drive to use with my xbox one soon to be Xbox one x.

I got this for my PS4 cause for Xmas I got a VR and my PS4 has 500gb HDD. I got this for me and wow. I can put tons of games on my external HDD. Not to mention that this Drive so so quiet. I have it behind my TV.

I needed to add 6tb of storage for media creation projects in my home studio. I wanted to have a portable solution so I can move projects between computers. This drive fits my needs.

I bought for the PS4 and I have to say it works great. I have space for all of my games on the PS4, I don't have to install and delete games, I can play them all on my PS4 which makes life great. I haven't experience any issues.

Bought to replace my Western Digital. Haven't regretted it.

This is a great storage device to have if you have a PS4.

Very reliabnle External drive. Western Digital has been making drives for decades and they put their experience into every drive they make. Great speed for access and storing and can be used for daily back ups as well.

I needed a larger drive for a big project and the reviews on this WD 6TB were good so it became one of three top choices. As luck would have it Best Buy chose to put this one on a really good sale just before I made up my mind. I wasn't expecting it to be as quiet and quick as it has been especially when compared to a two year old 4TB Seagate I had been using. No loud clicking & no seeming hesitation at large file drops like I had become accustomed to. So far this has been a really great drive.

I'll just echo the usual comments about both WD and Seagate. Their drives are okay. I bought this for the warranty, but I am frankly tiring of poorly engineered USB drives that don't last. I don't do anything that stresses them out; they are primarily for archiving media files and running backups. WD's software is atrocious. You get prompted to do firmware updates but you have to disconnect every single external device for the software to be able to find the drive that actually needs the update. SERIOUSLY! This is 2017. What kind of lazy, cruddy coding is that. If the drive lasts, I guess I'd recommend it, but who knows at this point. At least they have a decent warranty, but that's no good if your data is gone.

This purchase actually pulled double-duty for me. First, it let me backup my PC while installing a new OS. But ultimately, I purchased this to expand my storage on my xbox one. Replacing a 1gb external drive I had been using previously, this works great at multiplying the available space I had, just format and go. :)

I upgraded my Dish service and did not want to loose my DVR recordings so I transferred the recordings to the external drive prior to losing the DVR where the recordings were stored.

Needed a big external for work in a pinch. Swung by our local store to get this drive and it worked as expected. USB 3.0 made for quick transfer of data we needed to ship offsite.

Wish I had bought a bigger one like a 10 tb.. game system only came with a 500 gb easiest upgrade without having to taking apart

I bought this hard drive with the sole purpose of my ps4. It has worked wonderfully and with about 200 games installed, it still has enough space for plenty more.

Good value HD. Wish it were as easy to set up in UNIX/Linux as it is in say a MS OS ...

I bought this item because of its capacity, as well as price. So far I've been happy with my purchase. It's easy to set up and use immediately. Would recommend this item.
