Western Digital provides great portable backup storage units like My Book and My Passport. It is inexpensive but works great. I never experienced any crash.

A little noise. I put it on a pad of paper. Good price and work fine. I would recommend base on my experience so far.

I have been using it with the PS4 since external HD support was recently implemented. It is working with no issues. I do not find it noisy and it is fast enough. I docked one star because it has no external drive light and I like to be able to see hard drive activity. I should point out many people do not like a drive light and find it distracting. So for you fguys-5 stars

I had a 5tb My Book for my Xbox One which started filling up fast since games take up so much memory these days. Then one day my 5tb stopped responding. I decided that while I work to get my 5tb working again, I'd get this 8tb to replace it for now. This 8tb has worked so much smoother than the 5tb HD and this 8tb is a bit more sleek in design. Well worth the money - a great product from WD.

Huge Storage and USB 3.0 however there are no lights on case to show its on. Connect to pc to see drive and lots of space to store. Great purchase.

Thanks to the USB 3 feature I was able to transfer approximately six terabytes of data in less than just a few hours.

Western Digital external hard drives are very reliable. The 8GB drive is very handy and allows me to combine several external hard drives.

8 TB is a bunch of space, even for someone like me who takes 500 photos a day. (I’m a pro photographer) so far it works great too!

Wanted the biggest backup hard drive. I've used Passports in the past with great success. Installing and setting up backups in Windows 10 was quick and easy.

I have never been let down when it comes to WD products. And had this one met my needs I am sure I would have been happy. Unfortunately, this product did not meet my demands. I needed a large storage space to do full system backups on 5 desktops and 2 laptops and accessible through my network. This product is suggested for only one computer thus making it difficult to backup others. It would not work the way I wanted it to even making it a shared device on the network. I took it back and ordered the WD 8tb My Cloud drive. This has the features I need and I am happy. I cannot fault the drive as I did not understand its limitations.

8TB - Fast and spacious storage for plenty of photos and videos. It is also compact and takes minimum space on my desk.

Easy to set up. The hard drive is fast and quiet. Because of its size it is ideal for backing up laptops and holding backups of photo storage.

For those of us still using desktop computers this external hard drive has the capacity to store pictures and documents. Easy to install.

I got this on sale, but even at normal pricing this is a good value. Lots of storage, and so far I have had no issues with it. Transfer speeds are not bad either, usually averaging 130 MB/s with large files in Explorer, which I think is in line with USB HDD like this. I don't use any of the included software, but so far it has been great for backing up my files in Windows 11.
