For the love of God... Don't buy WD Products
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this WD My Book Duo for 8 months with minimal usage, as it is mostly storage. At this very moment, I'm on with WD Tech Support to have my 4th drive replaced. That is a failure rate of 1 drive every two months. I should have bought ANYTHING other than Western Digital and strongly recommend you do the same. As I'm now quite familiar with their Technical Support, I can also suggest you would prefer a "swift kick to the jimmy" than dealing with them.

Constant I/O errors
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When attached to my iMac, the drive throws errors frequently throughout the day hence rendering it unusable for any practical purpose. When diagnostics are run they come up clean. I have reconfigured it several times trying RAID 1 first and then RAID 0 with no luck (should have read reviews prior to purchasing). Manufacturer return policy is not easy to deal with. Not sure I'm going to bother as others seem to have reported getting replacements which were refurbs and had the same problem. Seems to be more of a software issue than a hardware issue. I suppose I'll use it as a $600.00 paperweight. Just to be clear - none of this falls on Best Buy. WD needs to resolve the problems with this particular model. Their other drives seem to work well.

Drive failed after 1 week
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am returning the unit as it was defective. Became in operable after only a week of storage of 15 years of photo images. Fortunately had back ups to restore most of the lost data.
