I purchased a Aluratek digital tuner which has a USB port to allow recording of programs to an external HD or flash drive like a DVR. I first tried the flash drive which worked great but fills up fast. This external HD attaches to the USB port which also powers the HD. The only problem I encountered at first the drive was not recognized for recording but the tuner has a function to format the drive. After formatting the drive, it then worked. It works great and offers lots of storage (recording) space. It was on sale and I considered getting the 2tb for $35 more but as I have learned with having a TiVo, more storage makes me lazy and I store recordings for months or years without ever watching them. So, l decided to save the money and be more proactive keeping up with watching what I record. The HD and tuner work great together. I have only had this for about two weeks so I don't know how long it will last.

I love these drives and have several. They have been sturdy and reliable. Will continue to buy this brand

This device gives me more than enough storage for backing up my laptops. It runs fast and with no issue.

I've had great luck with WDC passports over the past several years. I don't use the embedded software or do automatic backups. I just manually back up data to the passport periodically and offload lots of files from my laptops and phone. So far I have not experienced a failure.

This external drive works as expected. No problems. Would recommend if you need simple external storage.

I use this external hard drive to store all of my Xbox One games on. It makes being able to play my games on another person's console so much easier. Instead of having to download the game before playing on their console, I can just plugin my hard drive and put the disk in, and it is ready to go! Great buy.

I have two of these drives and find them to be quite convenient. They are very portable as fit nicely in the pocket of my laptop bag. Being a full terabyte they have reduced the amount of drives I have to keep track of. Due to the data size, these are especially convenient for backing up our computers.

Small in physical size but huge in storage capacity. If you have USB 3.0 ports in your computer, the blue ones, it becomes really fast when transfering files. Its perfect when you have to carry big files to another place or to make complete backups of your computer.

This product is great holds all my information have not had any problems with it. The price was great as well. Feel a bit flimsy but as long as you careful with it, you should have no problems.

This 1tb hard drive will do the trick. I was able to install 35 games and still have some space left.

Geek squad recommended this as a data backup. (I do not trust online backups as I figure it's only a matter of time before somebody hacks those too). This was easy to use. Good price. No monthly fee to backup my data. Note: make sure what you buy is compatible with your OS. I am on Windows 10.

I have a few different WD My Passport portable hard drives and they're all really awesome. I bought this one because the other one stopped working on my mac (but still worked on my windows. it had a bug from what i assume is it disconnecting without properly ejecting it.) I also went with this one over the one specifically for Mac even tho I use Mac cause you can write either of them for either computer (and it was a little cheaper).
