I don't like "the cloud" and feel more secure with all my important files and pictures on a device. This is easy to use and I was impressed with how fast the transfer rate is compared to my (very) old unit.

Good thing I used this, because Amazon cloud flat failed. Who needs the cloud fixed later, when you need data now?

I wanted a way to secure all my photo, audio and text files that doesn't rely on "the cloud". This external hard drive has large capacity, makes perfect replicas virtually instantly, and is very easy to use. Best of all, I am able to have in my possession an independent backup of all my must-save files.

Best money ever spent. Everything is at my finger tips, plenty of storage and no paying for a cloud service. Comes with many good third party options Highly recommend

Wanting to have a backup for my laptop but not desiring to use a Cloud, I purchased this little hard drive. It is very easy to install and quickly backs up with more storage than I will ever need. I do not store movies nor play games, just family pictures and documents.

Before work was done on a balky hard drive, the tech suggested I get an outboard 1 TB backup drive instead of sending everything to the cloud, which sounded pretty risky. We did that with my wife's computer and never found the files again! The Passport drive worked first time, quietly backed up the whole drive quickly and is easily accessed just like the original drive. It's a permanent part of the system now.

I will ALWAYS do my own BACK UP on an external hard drive of some kind. They had floppies, then, 2x2's, 3x3's, etc, then zip & zap drives, then jump drives & on & on & on. Then came this "Cloud" NOPE! NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS! I will always use what CAN'T be messed w/ once its password protected & changed on a daily basis where you can actually overwrite INSTEAD of it having a residual shadow in your "CLOUD" any day of the week!

I have had some problems with a cloud backup company. It lost a lot of my iTunes. A friend told me about this. It was affordable and easy to install. The truth is I won't know how well it does what it's supposed to until I get a new computer, but it seems like my data is all there.
