My HP All-In-One is 6 years old at least but it's still a good computer, and perfect for an 11 and 13 year old who still haven't quite grasped how much money all this tech that they've known all their lives actually requires. The computer had a fierce virus but the milliions of files on the computer from 6+ years of use were just too much to search each and every file. The Geek recommended the external drive and we got it. Everything stays in there and we only bring over what we need everything else... All those old files, with the exception of the pictures maybe will likely never be seen or heard from again. The computer runs as fast as the day we got it. Amazing!! I'm computer illiterate but I know this is a solid item to have as you can save everything on an external drive then the small or large amount of memory on your computer stays intact and your computer doesn't drag. <3

Seems to hold plenty of data. It is easy to connect physically. Just be sure you understand all the options and set-up requirements if you plan to use it with both a Mac and a pc-- this can get very complicated. I would work with an expert or use support to be sure you set everything up, including various partioning, formatting, backing up options both as they relate to the drive and to your operating system and computer(s).

This is a great external hard drive. WD has always been reliable for me. Great size for travel

I had issues with computer and needed to get my computer fixed. I purchased the hard drive to save all of my documents and important items on my computer that I did not want to lose.

Easy to hook up to my computer. Still tons of room left for more info to store all our pics.

I have no complaints about my WD - My Passport 1TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive. It was easy to use and I was able to use it to back up stuff on my desktop and laptop with room to spare. Great product for family photo and other important documents, music, etc...

I was forever worried about hard drive failure and losing data (happened before),. Finally purchased this portable hard drive and got peace of mind. Plus I can take my pictures with me when visiting friends and family on vacation, we get a great laugh looking at past adventures.

I would buy it again it nice looking and holds all of your data and more very much satisfied

This is a solid choice for a small, highly portable back-up/transfer device. It's not the biggest in the world, but the price point for 1 TB is good. And it is easy to reformat for use with Mac (via Disk Utility) if the "For Mac" version isn't in stock.

My wife's PC started the ever more frequent "Blue Screen Of Death" so we decided the right thing to do would be to ignore it and then be super disappointed when she lost everything... No... Wait.. That's I WOULD HAVE done...Instead, she decided to get a portable drive to back her stuff up. We went to BB and looked at the decent selection and found this little guy. It had pretty good ratings and was (as is most stuff we buy) on sale so we went with it. We got it home and unpackaged it, plugged it in and after a handful of minutes formatting, it was ready to go. She was able to move all of her important stuff to the drive. Transfer speed was decent and no files were lost, so yeah, it did what we expected it to do. I gave it 4 stars due to the little longer than expected format time compared with other portable drives we've used. In all, I would recommend it and would buy again since the price was right and the performance was as expected.

I use this HD as an external for my Playstation 4.It continues to serve me well to this day.

The Western Digital - My Passport 1tb External Usb 3.0 Portable Hard Drive - Black is a good buy. I bought at a good price to backup several devices I support at various locations. I have other USB storage devices but this one has a good amount of storage space a does the job reliably.

I bought this disk after a series of computer failures convinced me of the need for more frequent backups. My system disk is 500 GB so now I can safely store a series of backups, not just one. I stayed with WD because I found it a safe, reliable brand.

I had to buy this hard-disk as my laptop keeps crashing and there was a need to reinstall OS. I had valuable pictures taken for years. Finally decided to save my documents in hard-disk. This one was very compact and I couldn't find any better price. Would be even better if they added some cloud storage when purchasing this hard disk. I bought this with a free $25 Shutterfly card so I find its a good deal for me.

Back up drive works very well for my needs, at a reasonable price. Recommend the use of it.

I use these drives while I am unable to edit photos on my computer for lack of internal storage. They aren't super fast so no video editing but they do travel really well in a case and allow me to edit photos on. Super small and compact but big enough to notice.

It was simple to use and has taken care of my many pictures. The staff was so very helpful

My OG Xbox one was in desparate need of additional storage, so I picked this up on sale. Setup was a breeze and it's quite fast. Thinking of picking up another for my other Xbox, and again for backing up my PC! The size and build is great as well.
