Great Drive for PS4 Extended Storage

I have a PS4 Pro and upgraded the internal storage to a small SSD and then using this one to offload games that I do not play as often. It really keeps my load times down and have a ton of storage for my PlayStation. The drive is super quite and can't hear it run even while under a load. I have purchased many WD products and will continue to.

    Can use 4GB on XP

For anyone still using Win XP you can use the full 4 GB despite what's mentioned on the web. The 2GB limit is based on # of blocks, but the block size is now 4K (most docs were written when hard disks used 512 byte blocks). I reformatted to the newer ExFAT filesystem (in hopes of avoiding bugs in the old OS handling 4K) and when I migrated to Win7 I didn't notice any problems (there's some doubt about how well pre-Win 10 versions of the OS can handle the 4K block size).

I bought this drive to do image backups for my computers. It's surprisingly fast and does the job. I had a smaller drive that only had 750 GB of space, but this new drive has 4 TB. There is more than enough room to save all my data. There is also software installed on the drive from the manufacture, to do backups, however I don’t really have any use for it. I would recommend this product to my friends.

2TB Seagate external drive died which I used with a ChannelMaster OTA DVR. Went to CM site to see which drives were supported, found out CM replaced my DVR with a new one that works with Google play (ugh!) and support info for old model was mostly gone. Only 4TB with 3 year warr. was this one and also the lowest in cost so I purchased knowing it could go back to BB if it didn't work. Works fine no problems so far. Hopefully it outlasts the warranty.

This 4 terabyte USB external disk drive is small physically for its data capacity, is based on a notebook drive type and thus is powered over USB. While it offers fairly fast data transfer, I wish that SSD (solid state) external drives were more prevalent as they provide much higher speeds, but this little drive does a decent job with its spindle-based hard disk. And it's not as large as many external drives on the market, despite a huge 4 terabyte capacity. I'm really pleased with it.

This was a gift for my son since it had received such good reviews for use with the Xbox plus it was significantly cheaper than the devices branded specifically for Xbox. He has loved it since he no longer has to delete from the internal drive to download games that he plays with his friends. This is the same device we use with all laptops and it is reliable and fast. Couldn’t be more pleased.

Bought this hard drive for my Xbox one. I had 1TB at first but I ended up using most of it so I upgraded to this one. It has so much space that its going to be a long time before I will have to delete anything. On the plus side it does fit great with the Xbox One with its design.

I have about 4-5 of these, they are incredible. I need them for my work as a photographer/videographer. the only downside I would say is that you need to buy new ones every few years, as they will eventually start to have problems. I have kept it 5 stars because I haven't tried a hard drive that doesn't fail after a few years, its the nature of the drive. this is the best option I have found.

The WD My Passport portable drive has lots of storage space and seems to be running at great levels. I was able to store all my big games on here and they seem to load a little bit quicker. My Seagate ps4 drive broke after 5 months so only time will tell if this WD holds up but so far so good! Would recommend for PS4 external hard drive. It is a little bulky but it’s also quiet so I don’t notice any noise good price for 4tb

Having a Mac, I updated to Sierra and needed Time Machine backup external hard drive. Surprisingly, the Mac version of this drive I used and I couldn't do an initial backup. I took it back for a refund and just thought, why not try the pc formated drive with the exact same specs. I traded it, used Disc Utility an app on Sierra to change and reformat the drive to Apple format. Next I tried a backup and it worked. It has continued to work for the last month or so. Who knew??

I've had my share of experiences with larger clunky external storage devices in order to take advantage of the largest storage size available in the market during the time I needed. Frustrated with carrying around such a heavy device + a power cord, I opted for a smaller portable one which thankfully offers the sufficient amount of space that I needed. I've never had any problems with Western Digital drives so I trust this brand and would recommend it for others to buy.

I am grateful to have this, especially during a time of me feeling worried. My other hard drive was not operating properly, since I would get an error message each time the drive was plugged into a computer. Fortunately, my files were recovered, and this drive was the one to help, along with a secure system. I highly recommend this drive, with this particular size, at an affordable investment for your life, and the data that is very important to you.

Bought two to use for transporting files and off-site backup. As a test I used them to offload data from 2, 4gb drives before repurposing them for NAS use. Not the fastest drives but about equal to my 2tb WD Element and Toshiba drives. Used first as formatted ntfs with Linux Mint 18.2. Then second drive formatted to Ext4 without difficulty. Some 20% faster with Linux that way due to Linux slowness with ntfs. Filled both drives twice without problems/errors.

For the past five years I've been working with 4K video files and I've used nothing else but WD drives for archival purposes. I'm usually editing off of G-DRIVES, Glyphs, and Lacies, but I run all of my proxies off of WD's and have a shelf full of them. Not once have I run into any glitches or bumps. This probably my 20th WD. Glad to see they're upgrading to SSD drives/ USB C.

I have a Seagate 4 TB HD and bought this WD 4 TB HD to ensure that I never lose all my data again. Maybe overkill but once bitten, twice shy after dropping my previous WD Passport HD. I use a File Sync program to keep these 2 HDs as mirror images. One thing I notice is that the WD is a bit more noisy than the Seagate, which I don't hear working at all. Not annoying and it is the only difference that I have detected so far.

I needed an external HDD and trading off options I found this 4TB one at really good price with the best ratio size/buck. It's USB 3.0 so very quick to access to and thanks to its massive storage size I do not have to think where to store bulky applications. It's just there to keep up with everything. So far it's working perfectly fine and allows me to have everything in just one HDD. I totally recommend it.

A very quick portable hard drive with a huge amount of disk space. The only downside is that its pure USB, even inside; so if you ever need to replace the drive inside you can't replace it with drive that has a SATA connector (same goes for if you want to remove the drrive from its case and use it inside a computer or laptop, its next to impossble since its a USB connector on the drive, not SATA)... Still an amazing external drive.

Good product, but lacks the "old" Thunderbolt port

This drive is a good product, but it lacks the "old" Thunderbolt port needed to connect to my 2012 iMac. As a result, I had to buy an additional adapter, which was an unexpected and unnecessary expense. However, the fault lies with Apple for constantly making changes to their products with little or no regard to compatibility issues with existing Apple devices. Typical customer gouging that we are increasingly subjected to by the socialists in Cupertino.

This was bought as a replacement, when one of the external hard drives I had crashed. Note to self, always make sure you have a few of these hard drives to make sure you don't lose stuff (which I did but plan to maintain). Anyhow I transferred my data from one external hard drive to this drive, and it transferred quickly, and it's large enough to hold a lot of data. So all in all, I'm impressed.

My PC is an 09 HP custom build. Finally got the right device to back it up. I done it three times now all in different formats. I couldn't be happier with it. I'd done a bit of research on Ext. Hard drives and this one came highly recommended. It comes with nearly zero paperwork and that's because you don't need it. Plug it in, let it download your guide and easy peazy.
