It's a compact easy to find hard drive that makes me feel secure that my data is always backed up. I plug it in every day so I never have to worry that if anything happened to my hard drive that I wouldn't have a back up. Nothing confusing about it. No setup or lengthy instructions. Plenty of space. Highly recommend.

Perfect for Videos. I used this for a substitute NAS backup drive. I can carry my entire portable storage, now wherever I go. I no longer need to access FILES from a paid server. Saved a ton of money.

I was looking to replace an old 1TB storage device, another brand, that was making noises and possibly going to fail. Pleased this doubled my capacity and was reasonably priced...plus in stock. Would have likely purchased a smaller unit; but for the extra $, if it operates ok, it will provide years of storage.

Purchased to add storage to my PS5, and my PS4 games run off it perfectly. Setup was painless, and it performs precisely as advertised.

As someone who has lost important data through a computer crash, this was a good option. It is easy to use, and am able to retrieve data once backed up. I have had for about 6 months - so far, so good.

So far so good. Using this as a media streamer. As a former music/ tour photographer and working over 23 yrs as a photographer in general I have a lot of photos, music and videos I’ve collected over the years. Hold everything fine. Works great with Plex.

Anyone who works with a mobile device should have one of these to use as a back up, especially anyone who travels for work like I do. I love the color, it's stylish, sturdy and it's small enough so it doesn't take up too much space in my purse or my bag.

You never think you will need 4TB, until your server crashes and your cloud backup is corrupted, and... We grabbed this as a redundant backup for our secondary office server and it updates daily. The speed and ease of use are great. WD products and pricing are fantastic.

I've copies over thousands of photos from my laptops and still have lots of space. It was easy to connect and begin using. I've had several Western Digital External hard drives and they have worked well. I'm not sure how I was supposed to be able to use encryption on this one.

Nice hard drive. I haven't had this one very long, but it works well. I don't use the WD software at all, so I'm no help in commenting on that part of the product. A solid state drive is certainly better, but they're pricey at this point, so this one is perfect for my needs.

This is my 'go-to' portable external storage drive. It has plenty of space for my projects which contain large graphics files. It just works!

It's fast, has handy apps, extremely portable, huge at 4TB and seems reliable so far. Western Digital - accept no substitutes! Been using their products for over 20 years (yeah, I'm older), and know what works and what doesn't. Buy this if you something with these specs!

Very high quality product. I purchased this one to work from and wanted something durable, high speed and light so it is easy to carry. So far, it has met all expectations. Great product and would recommend.

I have 8 of these and use them for storage and backup. Dating back 8 or 9 years, never had a failure or problem from any of them. Much better than other brands.

Portable high volume storage is incredibly helpful

Everything as advertised, easy setup, small footprint, pretty quick transfer rate. With a sale price, took some of the sting out of having to replace two older drives that were no longer safe if connected to the internet.
