    Great to back up all my files in case something happens to my hard drive. Precious pictures, census records from Ancestry, other documents I found about my family that I can share with my family are now archived. Spreadsheets and pamphlets for non profits that I have helped create need to be saved until meetings. I would hate to lose all that work.

    I needed the drive to archive my files and picked this up. Overall, I have been happy with the WD portable drives, and have purchased a few of them. My only minor complaint is that I am a bit OCD and wish they would STOP changing the darn cases all the time. I know, silly, but... I bought this thinking it was fully 100% red, but the "new" version is half-red, half-black. First-world problems, I guess... But I reocmmend them. Good quality, Reasonable price.

    Way more storage than anyone would need. It’s also a beautiful color. There was a sale on external hard drives so I bought this to store old photos from my computer which made it run1 0x faster

    Decent speed for data transfer. However can really be noticed with large files even when compressed. So if you require large data file transfer routinely then I would recommend a solid slate drive. This product is good for the price of storage space and being a HD disk.
