I purchased this hard drive to back up some photos and it had more than enough space to accommodate everything. Set up was virtually non existent since it was preformatted to the mac standard it was a simple plug and play experience. No issues whatsoever and the build quality and paint both seem durable and lasting.

a friend had previously used this product, so that was my review! It was the easiest portable hard drive to set-up ~ so much so that I went back and purchased a second for my daughter. Finally, somewhere this non-techy can upload & store all my photo's and free up space on my other devices without compressing them.

Purchased this WD drive for back up to my older Macbook Pro. Just connected cable and let Time Machine take over. It was easy, easy. Like it so much that I bought another for my wife's laptop (Windows 7).

For the price I paid this is a great external hard drive. Very easy to use, light weight (so its easy for me to carry around).

This hard drive is great because of it's compact size which makes it very portable! I use it to store all of my pictures (which I take in RAW) and it handles them great! It is very fast and handy!

I found this to be as advertised. It works well with MacBook and I would recommend it as a cheaper storage device.

Preformatted to mac, nice. I partioned for BU's on an imac and macbook pro. Don't really need a separate ext. dr. for each one. Runs decent speed but I wouldn't use it to run apps on macbook as its not ssd. Haven't done a restore yet so can't comment. Build qual seems good

This is the second one of these HD's that I have purchased in the last fews months. One for MAC Timer Machine and the other to store all my photos on. So far no problems, Highly recommend this HD and it is a nice small size and looks good too,

The amount of music and photos on my computer is a bit ridiculous. When I took my computer in to have it fixed and it needed a backup, there was no room on my other hard drive so I bought a new one. I love how much space is on this thing!

Cheaper to do than having Best Buy transfer all your stuff from one computer to another- plus you can choose what you want to load on it/add to the new one. Also Best Buy will take 3 days, whereas you can do it with this in a few hours.

I like these great little devices. They are ideal for archiving and organizing photos and other data. The capacity is ideal for saving projects and cleaning them out of other parts of one's computer. I also find them very user-friendly.

Nice, fast backup medium for the price. Fast transfer speed and plenty of disk.

My old backup drive suddenly stopped being read by my Mac laptop. No great loss as I knew pretty much everything I needed I already had access to but I do want things backed up for safekeeping. So off to buy a new drive I went. My last backup drive easily cost around $80 so this was a great deal as far as I was concerned plus it's formatted for Mac computers which is a huge help. My backup with it went smootthly and I'm feeling a lot better now about having my work and files saved elsewhere!
