I had to buy extra storage for my mac and to use with Time machine and came across this one. It had great reviews so i bought it. Easy to use with the mac no need to reformat like the other ones. Very easy to use

I needed an external HD for my iMac that is starting to get old (10 years). I have previously lost many photos due to an external HD crash, so I decided to get another one since my iMac is aging. I saw this one on sale on best buy.com and decided to snag it. It seemed like the WD received better overall reviews than the Seagate models. So far I am very happy with it. Super easy to use... just plug it in and start the time machine. Hopefully it holds up for many years.

The technology behind external memory has advanced faster than in almost any area within the electronics industry. This hard drive comes pre-formated for your Mac or PC (not like this takes long to do on your own) and performs right out of the box. My first use was required to back up digitized artwork for an artist. The 180 gigs transferred to this hard drive by the time I had finished my sandwich. The size is perfect for the 4 inch pocket in my laptop bag and adds relatively no weight to carry.

This was a replacement gift for my daughter. The previous WD MyBook did not work reliably with her Apple MAC computer (even though the box indicated that it would). This one worked without any problems.

The Mac 1TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is a must have to backup your data. Don't think your Macbook won't break and losing all your data will never happen to you. It happens every day.

Surely a great way to store your important info from my MAC. always buy 2. one to keep in your house and one in a relative house so if some happen you have an extra memory somewhere else

This is one tough drive, for I have two of them, and one of them has been running for at least a couple of years. It is a big drive and it is a portable drive. In other words, it is ideal for back and ideal for carrying around those many files that one may need but are too many for one's hard drive to hold. The computer is happy because its hard drive is not too full. This user is happy because he is not separated from his files.

This external hard drive has been perfect and very simple to use. It has an automatic backup feature which you tell it when to backup and it does it, period! Would and will buy again!

I recently bought this hard drive to back up my IMac. It stays on all the time and all of my files are backed up on a regular basis. Peace of mind is important in this day and age.

I've purchased three previous external hard drives that are similar to this but a different brand. They ended up not working or getting corrupted. So far this one has continued to work. I did purchase insurance on this one. It's only $9 or something a year and if your hard drive becomes corrupted or stops working they will give you a new one without and extra costs. It works well and it's great for the extra space I need.

I had a similar device for my PCs and needed something that would work with a mac. The mac time-machine feature mates up with this easily and it seems like it will be reliable. I have not used it enough to feel like it's an amazing product, but I think it gets the job done and makes me feel more secure.

Easy integration, small, faster, as expected. I have had it for some months with no issues.
