I followed directions to partition and format for both Mac and Win. Mac didn't like it , and after losing access to 2 partitions, I went to Geek Squad . Recommended returning the drive , and buying two 2TB drives , one for Mac , one for Win. I did , and this one worked just fine .

Excellent for off site backups

Weekly, I clone my computer hard drive using a commercial software program I purchased intended for backup cloning, then store this external Passport drive in another location for security. As this passport gets it’s power through USB cable, there is no need for separate power source.
