I wanted a external hard drive for my macbook pro to backup everything. Time machine backs up everything automatically. Very fast too.

I was in need for one of those and could not have choose better . Works fast than my older one and has enough capacity for my pictures

Easy to use,with security feature & i love the size,fit into my laptop case together with the laptop so no need to buy extra case.

Excellent and easy to use, this external hard drive has more than ample space for the needs of backing up a laptop that crashed and had it's hard drive crash and be nearly un-recoverable. The data that was recovered was placed onto this hard drive and it is the perfect physical size as well as size for the data requirements.

External portable hard drive was easy to set up. Great to store movies, music, and pictures. Eliminates unwanted CD holders

I cannot say enough good things about this large storage user friendly back up for Mac. Simply plug it in and start backing up. I am a photographer and would not get caught without my back up hard drive. I carry it from home to work. I travel quite often and it is so easy to take everything with me, because of such device. I find myself buying a new one every 6-7 years. 2TB holds a huge amount of documents and photos. I shoot with a large full frame camera so the files are extremely large and will eat up your computers hard drive very quickly. External hard drives are a saver for me! And this compact external hard drive is so easy to travel with. I have never had issues with this brand either.

Using for Apple Time Machine backup. Bought this to replace another WD drive that lasted way past it’s Warranty date. I have multiple WD external drives up to Six years old still in regular use. I do tend to be gentle with them. My use case is mostly as external drives attached to AirPort Extreme routers so the drives stay away from physical wear and tear which can shorten their lifespan. Always keep at least TWO backups of important stuff!

I got this this storage to replace an older 1tb hard drive. Dealing with graphic design and photography, this storage device is extremely helpful. My older hard drive needed a wall plug (yes it was that old). This one just needs to plug into your computer with a usb cord and you're good to go. It is significantly faster and smaller. It's a little confusing knowing which devices work with which operating systems so be sure you figure that out before making a purchase.

I use this to store my extensive number of photos. Simple to use, quiet, compact. Very pleased!

I am a designer and photographer. I was looking for a drive to hold all my large files and organize better. I absolutely love this drive to store all my raw photo files plus their edits and all my gopro video footage. I also love that it's a secure device so no one can steal my content. When plugged into a new computer it uses a password that I have created. I would recommend this drive for any designer and photographer.

This is a great hard drive to use as an external backup drive. I use this for my weekly laptop backups for my 2011 MacBook Pro using the usb connection. It’s a little slow since my laptop is old and does not have the high speed USB ports however it does the job quietly. Only the blinking light on the drive lets you know it working because it’s so quiet. I have trusted 3 of these over the years for backups and none have failed yet. I use the Mac OS encryption to secure the drives not the western digital software. Ready to use right out of the box with my Mac and no formatting required since this is the Mac version of the passport drive. I Recommend this for your external backups.

My Passport for Mac 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive saves me time and is lightweight. It is small enough to carry in a purse, and laptop bag. It has a lot of storage space. Glad I purchased it.
