works great - easy to use - user-friendly and has very large storage space - would buy again

House was robbed, so he took my back up drive. I ordered this one on sale, plugged it in to the back of the Mac And that was it super easy, that works for me.

Need a simple plug and play, reliable drive for Time Machine on your Mac? This is a great choice. It's a little heavier than other drives, but that shouldn't be a deal-breaker. It's fast, it's inexpensive and it does the job. Recommended for straight-up backups.

The device was easy to set up and install. It generally works ok, but then the backups periodically begin to fail. Not sure what the cause is, and can't seem to find an easy way to fix the problem except by disconnecting the device, doing a restart on down the computer.

I've used WD products for years, so I went with this pre formatted for Mac portable HD. It was simple to set up, plug in, and start storing large files.

It went on sale right after i purchased it. I am still waiting for Best Buy’s credit to show up on my credit card account. The external drive is more expensive than most drives however it came recommended by geek squad. My daughter was able to save her files

I've been using this drive ever since I purchased almost a year ago. I've had other drives that burned out less than a year, so I was waiting to write a review of this. This little drive can shuttle data pretty fast and I can easily slip it into my shirt pocket. Product design is kind of odd, but otherwise than that a great drive.

This hard drive is pretty much the only available bus powered USB 3.0 that isn't overpriced in my local Best Buy. It's plastic & shiny surface is nice right when it come out of the box, but is a massive fingerprint collector. Speed is not it's strong suit, but I'be never had any issue with a western digital drive failing on me. If you want a cheap drive that's reliable with a lot of space, and you don't plan on banging it around in your bag a whole lot, this drive should do the trick.

Great storage device for Mac At a very reasonable price! Easy to use.

The 2TB Apple Airport Time Capsule is $279. I saved $200 by buying the 2TB Passport which was on sale for $79 at Best Buy (online sale price but they matched it at my local BB store). Sure you have to plug it into a USB port but it's a LOT faster than the wireless Airport, plus I don't need another wireless router. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I use it to do video editing as well as a cache drive for After Effects. It's very compact and very sturdy and has served me well so far!

This hard drive works great for extra storage. Have never had any problems with WDC products and this is definitely worth the price.

I have used My Passport For Mac- External Hard Drive quite a few years now to secure my documents and photography images safely. I love the compact size and the amount of images/photos I can actually store on this device since I shoot with a large file camera. It's very User friendly with very little install time needed. I think it takes me like 5-8 minutes at most to install and start using the passports. Perfect gadget to have around! I even back up all my cell phone images as well over the years. And if you like to have your back ups close by or need to have a small device to travel with from one mac to another then this is what you need. Reliable and dependable. I have yet to get a bad or faulted one. Mine have held up very well and at least 6- 7 years now. This external hard drive also comes in a windows version.

Great external hard drive, it does what’s it’s supposed to do. I have been using this on my MacBook and it’s working like a charm.
