Great purchase to free up space at a good price!

The laptop still works well even after 13 years and although I just purchased a new MacBook with double the hard drive space, I still wanted to be able to use my 2008 model.

Great external backup if Speed is not important

It is not very fast, but I do not use it for active retrieval of files. I also want to mention that I'm using a late 2012 iMac that still works fine, but is not very fast either. I simply hook it up, start Time Machine and walk away for the night. I usually unplug it the next day. For someone that is looking for something faster, you will want to get a solid state drive. It is a pretty quiet hard drive and I would certainly purchase it again if I needed more storage.

It is easy to install (meaning there is no installation) and is perfect for working with Time Machine for backups on my MacBook Pro. The WD app that is resident on the drive can be helpful if the drive is not used for continuous backups.

Great backup

Older disk stopped auto sync using time machine and disk would disappear on desktop. After doing some research I found out these problems were common with latest updates. This new backup has solved the problem and it’s back to syncing daily. WD are all I’ve use because of the easy setup on Macs!
