Works just as one would expect. Formatted for MAC OS - requires a partition wipe if you'd like to use it on Windows. Not a big deal and doesn't affect the operation of the drive.

Very nice hard drive, quiet and fast. Works great with Time Machine on Mac.

I am surprised by the speed with which it backed up everything. I've used other external hard drivers that took forever to get the job done. I am really happy with this one.

I had trouble with it the first week because the harddrive would not show up on my mac. I'd have to unplug and re plug it in repeatedly to get my computer to recognize it. It seems the problem corrected itself though. It's been working fine lately.

I bought this for the sole purpose of expanding the space on my Xbox One S. This "Mac" model was cheaper than the others and worked great after I reformatted it.

WD is the best company for HD. Never had a problem with them for years. I own like 10 HD and never had any problem with them. I highly recommend them.

I had a heck of time getting the backup of iMac working. I couldn't find any instructions online and no instructions came with the hard drive. I found this very frustrating.

My second one. Both work great. It’s worth the money and remember., any hard drive can go bad at any time. That’s why you back up your backup.

I went into the Best Buy store after calling to see if this product met my needs. Over the phone and in store they told me the same thing. I asked “Will having this product allow me to back up my iPhone through my MacBook Air. I don’t want it only to add more memory I want to be able to back up my iPhone to this device while hooked up to my MacBook” they said yeah it’ll definitely work and low and behold it doesn’t. It’s just something you can dump files on like a normal expandable memory. So by theory it does work, however it didn’t work for my specific needs based upon the specific questions I asked.

I bought this drive as a Time Machine backup for my Mac. I tried to transfer my backups from a smaller WD Passport drive without any luck, even with a lot of Apple support. I finally just started a new backup.

Great plug and play hard drive for my new iMac. I would definitely recommend the drive. I usually buy LaCie drives. The Passport is just as good.

Some people say this is large, but compared to external drives that used wall socket power, it's small enough. i tested it with my Mac and so far so good, I have not used it extensively, but it seems to do what I want.

Bought this on sale and it's been working great so far. 4TB at almost $100 was a good deal. I bought several and they've all performed good.

Simple and compact backup drive. Easy to carry with computer and trouble free. Avoid a very costly hard drive crash. It's a must have item.

Set up for Time Machine storage on my wife’s MacBook Pro. So far so good. Reads/writes much faster than previous drive
