At first I was hesitant to buy this drive due to reviews on an eartlier version that indicated it was unstable. I have been using this drive to store my over 2 terabytes of iTunes movies/music for 3 weeks and it is doing just fine. I was not interested in the encryption feature, so I can't comment on that. I expect a lot of years out of this drive.

I bought this so I could back up my MacBook Pro and iPhone in order not to lose important documents and pictures. It transfers relatively fast for small files but when you transfer several gigs then it slows down a little bit. That is true for every storage device regardless of the brand. I love the small size and the performance.

I love it, this is the brand that I used at work for work files and it's made to last, never had any problems with it, so naturally when I bought one for myself... There was no other option, I had to have this brand. It's AMAZING!

I’m not sure I fully understand all the complexities of using the hard drive but I bought it primarily for time machine backups with my IMac. It is small and compact and I forget it’s even there. It does what I bought it to do.

Seems to work well. I personally don’t like that I can’t click on it somewhere and see what files are backed up but there may be a way to I don’t know. But this product was recommended to me by someone I trust.

Works Well, simple to setup and simply copy and paste files from your computer to the hard drive. Have had no issues with the hard drive working after storing it in my backpack while traveling.

Bought this as a replacement for my time capsule that died. It is working great and my iMac picked it up right away and asked me if I wanted to use this as my backup drive. Product is small and very quiet.

No to jinks it but i have been using WD drives for the past 10 years without any issues. I do, however limit my use of a drive to 5 years. I also use this type of WD at work, need i say more.

I don't know it is there. That makes it perfect. Once I set it up, it is just a folder on my computer. It holds my back ups and extensive photo files.

Great compact external hard drive this is my second my passport 4T. Are use one for my max time machine and the other for specialized edited photos that I want to keep separate.

I am not very tech savvy. I use to have an Apple Time machine, I struggled all the time. When I purchased my passport plugged it in and away I went. Very friendly and Easy to use

I needed this external drive to use with a Mac computer for the specific purpose of storing digital pictures that I took with my iPhone. It is perfect for that and does a great job.
