Be Careful Moving

Needed more storage space for iMac.

Passport stop working at the 1 year mark

I thought the point of having an external hard drive was to backup important information. WD offered to send me a refurbished external drive. In that case they could just repair mine and send it back but they don't do repairs. If you don't do repairs, what is a refurbished drive? Also, what's the point of an external drive if you have to backup "the" backup. I hope the my second WD holds up. I'm really disappointed in the product and the policy.

Defective

Went back and purchased another one! Still love western digital but this one I bought was defective.

backup fails with Time Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a new iMac OS Mojave 10.14.4 and bought this drive for an external backup. It was easy to install. It made auto backups using Time Machine without issues for a few days. Now have been getting backup fail errors daily. "an error occurred creating back up folder or unable to find back up device. I used the WD utility to check the settings and turned off the sleep function on the drive. Did not help. I have returned the WD and am using a G Tech drive -- no issues with this drive.
