Portable, easy to use, sturdy with great capacity. While the security feature is a good one, one has to unlock the drive manually to perform a backup. If there is a way for this to happen automatically via the automated backup schedule, I have yet to discover it.

I like the new type C connection. Thin model this time around. Comes with a 3.0 A USB adapter. The cable supplied to type C to type C for those PC's with that connection

For a mechanical HD, it surprisingly fast and its size and weight are light. I have it velcroed to the lid of my laptop. I also have the 4 Tb version and it is much heavier and is twice as thick.

This portable drive has saved me! The passport ultra is small but powerful; and works great for backups. You can't go wrong with this hard drive.

Purchased for our kid for school. Had no problems setting up and we anticipate he will take a while to fill it with social media worthy pic and videos. And an occasional school assignment.

got it to store pictures and music, so it does that. lots of space, easy to use. pretty much plug in and start moving files, only had it a couple of weeks and have had no problems.

This is second WD ULTRA I have purchased. Currently have the 2 TB version. Installed it with no effort, on lines in a matter of minutes. Currently have backup with no problems. I might also add I had no problems with my first WD and I have no reason to think I will have any problems with my latest WD Ultra.

I've had previous experience with two other Western Digital external drives so when the time came to acquire an external storage device for my Macbook Pro, I jumped at the chance to grab another Western Digital drive based upon my prior experiences with their drives. Also don't be concerned that the drive comes formatted for Windows - simply connect this to any Mac and launch Disk Utility to reformat it to Apple's file system.
