Worked as expected out of the box. Speeds were faster than my other (older) USB drives connected to the same USB port.

4 terabytes of storage in a well-built enclosure, and it's one of a small number of external hard drives with a USB-C connection that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Works like any other external hard drive, albeit well-made and compatible with the new crop of laptops that sometimes only have a type-C connector.

Purchased this due to many reviews listing it as one of the fastest external drives available right now. Yes, an external SSD is faster, but for this capacity is extremely expensive. The size and performance of this drive work well for my needs. It is supplementing an ultralight 2-in-1 for files I don't always need access to. It is fast enough that I can run GTA5 off of it without making the load times any worse than when I had it installed on an internal hard drive (not SSD). Ultimately, it is a high capacity drive, with enough performance to get you by.

So, let me start off this review by saying that the reason why I bought this drive was because my previous WD 4 TB drive failed. So why would I buy another one? I wanted one with a USB-C drive so that I could use it with my ultrabook without a dongle. This one was the cheapest USB-C drive I could find. Plus, it's small, light, and attractive in silver. I'm planning on getting another one in another color to serve as back up.

Works perfectly on my mini Mac. I simply plugged it in. It was detected and configured for use within 2 seconds.

This particular drive works rather well in that it has reasonable transfer speeds, and it does not generate high temperatures in the process.

I purchased the WD-My Passport Ultra External Hard Drive to store my photos. The files for my photos can be quite large and it was necessary to have a drive large enough and reliable enough to store my files without worrying about losing them. The WD-My Passport Ultra is the perfect solution.

I am getting ready to use this. I love that it has 4 TB and a USB-C with an adapter if I needed for USB-A. I have a USB-C port in my HP laptop. I already have a 2 TB version and it also came with the same cables, and I enjoy using it.

Updated from an older model (after 15 years of service). Very satisfied with the upgrade, quality, and speed. Appreciate the metal exterior for extended durability.

What can I say? A typical Passport with hella storage. The same simple design and ease of use just more storage.

Great storage hard drive with lots of space. I bought this hard drive because I needed more space for my ps 5 seeing that my nephew of 15 years old is always wanting to come over and play on it whenever he can and I only play sport games on my play station and he is more into the fighting and war type games and my sister likes the regular games like Crash bandakoot or eighties type games and my nephew kept complaining every time he came over there was no space on the ps5 or what games he could take off to make more room for anything he wanted. The extra storage this drive gives me is incredible I was able to transfer just about every game I had onto this and still have almost 3500 GB left on it and have almost all of the space free on the ps 5 now. Would say is almost a must for a family that has multiple people that like to play on the PS5

Using for my ps5 game storage, no issues! It's important to not bang these drives around too much and to do multiple backups. I have had a WD that I used for my PC fail on me before, but I literally dropped it on a very hard ground while on vacation. It's important to try to keep these ones secure and practice double backup (a cloud storage preferably, as all hard drives eventually will fail).

WD hard drives are the standard. And this one is no different. Like the multiple USB sizes available. Access is fast.

My WD passport external HD is just what I need to backup my photos and document files, and it has a downloadable application that can be set to update on a scheduled cycle. After all of the work and time invested in creating and documenting, My passport gives me added protection, lots of storage, and peace of mind.

Awesome drive! I've been using the 2TB, micro-USB version for at least three years, and this 4TB drive is what needed to backup old data, and save more. It looks sleek, and functions as designed.

its a lot of storage and portable for 4tb. good price but it is mechanical.
