It's a very neat little hard drive that is easy to take anywhere you go with your laptop. USB-C connectivity is future proof, and it also comes with a little USB-C to USB-A type adapter just in case you ever need to plug it into the older system. Included USB-C cable is about 1' long. Hard drive is labeled as 4Tb but the exact capacity is 4,000,750,497,792 byes or about 3.63Tb as it came in from the factory (NTFS formatted). Hard drive works fine with either Mac and PC, performance is about 115Mb/s writes, 120Mb/s reads. Hard drive comes with a Wester Digital Discovery tool that has software for drive diagnostic. Activity LED light on the drive itself could be disabled in the software if needed. Overall - it performed real well in all my tests and I would recommend it to anyone needing some extra portable storage.

So far Im loving this incased laptop 4gb hard drive from WD. I this connected to my Linksys routers usb 3.0 port and using it as a NAS. Easy to share pictures, videos, and movies accross your network. This drive was plug n play, no software to install. Just plug it into a compatible router or laptop pc, and your good to go. The usb-C connector makes for faster transfer and read speeds for sure. Luckily I had a 6ft long usb C cable laying around, as the included cable is about 18" long.

This drive is amazing, fast and very reliable so far. It has been very easy to use and transfer photos, and valuable documents. It was simple for me to back up all my devices and laptop. I just love this drive for my back up needs.

I had to put 16 days of video on this. I film 250 gigabytes a days. Worked quick and easy, file transfer was a snap. Product feels very sturdy and like it is built to last. Not a single problem with it.

I like that it is so small and efficient that it is self-powered off the computer. Lots of storage space! It'll be a while before I fill this up. :)

I needed more room for photos and videos. Western Digital is one of the biggest names in HDs and this doesn't disappoint. Very compact design and a pretty good price. Though it is a little bit more, this version (the Ultra) comes with a USB-C cable (and a USB adapter). The transfer rate is extremely fast with USB-C so definitely worth the few extra bucks.

My passport ultra 4T from WD, this is good portable drive, i also own a 1T that is almost full that is why i bought the 4T to backup all my files from the 1T & to have additional spaces. I never had any issue with my passport ultra, they are fast when transferring data & easy to use. So far so good w/ the 4T, i specifically like the metal case frame on the 4 T, they only thing i am not a big fan is installing the WD software on my PC. It's a great portable drive based on past experience they are very reliable, i hope the 4T will be as good as the 1T & the 250G i owned for quite some time.

Passport external hard drives always work great with easy access and quick uploads. They are the only brand I have purchased and used for years. Highly recommend.

Very fast compared to the Seagate I replaced this with. 4T of space and backing up files in a snap priceless. I didn't do an analysis of how fast it was copying files all I know is it took less than 30 seconds to copy an entire folder of stuff I needed to backup.

I needed a lot of space with all the video and pictures I create. I saw this 4TB and had to try it. So far it has been a very good hard drive to me, compact, and fits easy in my backpack side pocket. Load and upload speeds are fantastic too.

I purchased this hard drive for my wife to match her keyboard. I was very pleased with the value that I received for this product. In addition, the password protection and data encryption were also deciding factors for my purchase. My wife hasn't used it yet, but she has plenty of space once she does. I would be more than happy to purchase another one if she needs it down the road. I was so pleased with my purchase that I purchased a different hard drive for myself later in the day. I'll be doing that review shortly. As always, the curbside pickup experience was excellent. On a side note, I do not remember hard drives being this small. This is typical in today's society. Everything is getting more compact. I do like the small size of the hard drive as it takes up very little space.

Great capacity, fast, easy to set up and backup PC's. No issue with connecting. This model is also metal and looks good and very portable. Many brands and options out there but this one worked great for us.
