The WD - My Passport Ultra 4TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is a compact and portable hard drive with a generous amount of storage. Small, quiet and reasonably fast. NICE

I have read other reviews talking about overheating and potentially losing their storage data, but I have not yet come across that issue. If anything like that happens, then I will attempt to remember to update the review. However, I have noticed it running a little hot. Granted that electronics in general are a tad warm, but you have to realize that the storage itself has continuous working parts. I sometimes like to give it a break by unplugging it *AFTER* completely shutting off my CPU and I also have put it near an extra cooling station that my CPU uses. Has the extra storage space that I needed and transfers are fairly fast.

I've owned several WD Passport drives and they've all been excellent, this one no exception. Rugged, easy to use, good value, excellent transfer rates.

USB 3.0 is so much faster than 2.0. I was able to consolidate 2 2TB drives into one and files can be accessed quicker. I can take the files with me as well.

Decently priced HDD considering $ per GB. The major plus is the form factor size and its portability. My 3.5" HDD with the same storage size runs faster, but requires an external power source. This is an ideal storage for the on-the-go type file transfer.

WD makes great products and this is no exception. Great price, and plenty of storage for my needs. It's also so small that it barely takes up any space.

This small device is perfect for my photography hobby! I haven’t even touched 15% of its total capacity and I shoot daily! Love this product!

For the price, the size is perfect! Runs only when needed, doesn’t generate too much heat under load, space is always nice!

Needed more storage and for the price the 4 TB met the need. Wouldn't use anything except Western Digital.

After a rather traumatic loss of data, I decided to purchase an external hard drive so I could back up my computer and not have to go through such an ordeal. So far, so good!!

My computer was so backed up with information , it was beginning to run slow . Someone suggested to me to purchase an external drive so that I would be able to save EVERYTHING ! It worked like a charm ! I was able to back up my entire computer on the extern Drive , and delete it from the actual hard drive on the computer to free u space ! Best purchase I’ve made in a while !

Great for using this as a backup memory with my MacBook. Highly recommending initially formatting it in ExFat, especially if you work with both Macs and PCs!
