Using with my iMac as storage for files, pictures and video so the hard drive didn’t fill up. Great stuff.

One of the best purchases I have ever made, the storage is very small and essential to keeping folders and pics that are important, specially since I lost all data in my last crash, this is a must have for anyone who works from home.

This little unit is a strong contender, a silicone boot or bumper included at this price would make it a solid winner.

For a portable drive it does what it is supposed to do. Extra storage and a pretty affordable price and nice and portable. I have purchased many drives like this over the years and have never had any issue with Western Digital brand drives. Can't say the same for Seagate.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Nothing worked beyond pulling it out of the box. It took 30+ minutes for my computer to even be able to recognize it was plugged in. And my computer is a brand new Mac Studio, no issues with any other external drives previously. Not only did it not show up on my Finder for forever, when trying to reformat it for Mac it was next to impossible. I had to download special software to even make it work and it still took over an hour for it to reformat. Then there was the transferring of data. I initiated a full transfer of around 175-200 gb from my other external hard drive and it never finished. It sat there and said it would take 11 days to finish! I finally called it quits, took the time to completely wipe it, which took forever as well, and promptly returned it. In contrast, I replaced it with a new 4 tb external ssd drive and it worked snippety snap. No issues reformatting, transferring, and it only took seconds for it to show up on my computer. Definitely would not recommend this product unless you don’t mind spending 2 weeks getting it set up.

As a photographer storage is important and a trustworthy hard drive is key. Western digital is just that, highly recommended!

Nice hdd for storing movies, pictures home videos and games.

This is a lot smaller and thinner than the regular My Passport and it has a very nice finish. I am amazed by the speed of USB C connections. I highly recommend the My Passport Ultra. For only $25.00 more I'm glad I bought this HDD. And it's well worth the extra money.

Best external hard drive I have ever owned! Operating system is smooth and flawless. It does not disconnect while I am moving files over to it and even though it gets a little warm after heavy usage, it is nowhere near as hot as previous brands I have owned.

Very easy to use works fast and holds lot of storage

Great product. It’s very practical because you can travel with it and you can connected with your t.v or computer.

Perfect for PCs and Macs. I also own the Easystore 4TB but that doesn't have native USB-c connection.

I can't speak for future issues, but so far it works as intended. I would have liked it to be a bit faster, but then again it's not the SSD versions (that are way more expensive) I only hope it lasts longer than a few years. (I only buy WD Passports for portable storage, and sadly, a couple died out before 5 yrs hit. And 2 others I currently use, had for 5 yrs, before one of them started acting weird, and making me nervous it will die out - and make me lose the non-replaceable stuff saved on it). Plus, they were only 1TB @, and I need way more space than that now. (even this 4TB one I just bought, and wrote this review for, is too small. I need another, or a bigger one...)

These drives are life savers. I use them to back up and keep my data portable.
