I purchased this one for my old Mac pro couple years ago, and it worked perfectly, I tried to use the old passport but I couldn’t install it in my Mac pro 14 so I purchased this new one,

Great External USB 3.0 Hard Drive

I bought this one for my wife to back up her 50,000 photos that she has on her iPhone so that she can continue taking a million pictures. This one is formatted for use on Mac so I can also use it with our MacBook Pro laptop. Once again, I like WD (Western Digital) products.

Great HD for a macbook pro

I was able to make 4 smaller partitions so to support even faster searching and better indexing of files. Has worked great and comes with an adapter for USB C to USB A included. I wish the cord was a bit longer or had a stow spot included as it's rather short, but thats's the only way this could get any better.

Safe Drive

I needed to dump a bunch of iPhone pics and this was the version I picked. I still own the previous version and works great as well.

Immediately recognized and mounted. Sucker is fast … and completely quiet. Great for backing up photo files, music, editing projects. Will definitely buy more when this one is full.

Works after frustration

Specifically the WD Discovery and the encryption protection software included with the Passport is cumbersome and a problem. Don't activate the extra software and the Passport works as it should. Other reviewers stated this and I failed to heed their advice. If you don't activate it, you will be happy.
