Bad warranty services
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Drive failed in under a year and Western Digital advance exchange took over 2 weeks to ship a replacement. I am staying away from WD because of the warranty issues.

Do your Research...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After I bought this, I was doing More research for a Synology 923+ and found some pretty disappointing info about the WD Company. So I can't recommend this drive as a qualified NAS Drive. I had no problems with Best Buy.

Nice drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. Really wanted a Red Pro, but needed a replacement for a NAS unit quick and this was available. While slower than the other Pro drives I have in the NAS, hasn't affected performance significantly and does run a little cooler than the Pro's [which was expected].

GREAT SO FAR ("Only TIME will tell!")
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So Far So Good!!! Ive always been partial to WD HDs in general. The only failure I ever experienced was the one that this WD Red purchase is replacing and that PURPLE drive was recording in a security system NVS (storage recorder) 24 x 7 for SEVEN YEARS! I actually wanted a PURPLE series (designed for NVS recorders) but none were available locally and I needed to get the system back on-line, SO,...I may come back at afuture date and raise my rating from 4 to 5 stars! As they say,.."Only time will tell!"

GREAT CMR TECH DRIVE FOR RAID
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy has best price for "WD Red Plus" that uses CMR. I'm glad I didn't get stuck with plain "WD Red" which uses SMR. Shingle functionality means certain areas overlap and require rewriting. This rewrite really effects "WD Red" operating in RAID. So this "WD Red Plus" is much better for RAID configurations.
