    Bought this to supplement 3 identical drives, each with more than 40,000 hours of run time. I've had mixed experience with WD in the past but the Red series seems good.

    Good quality drive but a bit expensive. Works great in my Western Digital NAS, so I am happy. Docked 1 star because of the cost, but all else is great so far.

    I have two sets of WB Red drives (4 total) using the Microsoft Storage spaces. In nearly the same time frame I had one each fail, fortunately in separate spaces. I only purchased these again to rebuild the spaces, but as soon I have a chance I will move to another brand. Very disappointed to buy a drive branded for NAS applications, then fail more quickly that other drives. I have two HGST drives, that are not even rated for NAS in a storage space, that have been working for 10 years and still no problems (they were recycled from two desktop computers). I would expect a drive rated for NAS to last at least 5 years, and these do not. WD only warranties them for 3, and RMA process is also awful (done that once as well). Was happy that Best Buy had them in stock, so I could rebuild the storage spaces quickly in case other drive failed,

    Bestbuy had this in stock and ready to ship for the same price as the big A so I was able to get it delivered nearly a week earlier in time to test and install in my ReadyNAS before we were leaving for vacation.
