My first time buying HDDs from BB and I'm unimpressed. Drive DOA, Clicks and whirs only. I could have got a lemon, but I'm also unhappy with BB packaging. Drive was retail boxed and just shoved into a thin bubble mailer. I would expect, with the sensitive nature of HDDs to shocks and vibration that they would be packed in another box with sufficient padding. When you get a working drive their the best NAS drives around.

Runs warmer (51C) that the 6TB version I also have. Could be that the 6 is 5400rpm and this is 7200? But works as expected with no problems.

I have two sets of WB Red drives using the Microsoft Storage spaces. In nearly the same time frame I had one each fail, fortunately in separate spaces. I only purchased these again to rebuild the spaces, but as soon I have a chance I will move to another brand. WD also has a lot of bad press for their red drives, so very disappointed to buy a drive branded for NAS applications, then faill more quickly that other drives. I have two HGST drives, that are not even rated for NAS, that have been working for 10 years and still no problems. I would expect a drive rated for NAS to last at least 5 years, and these do not. WD only warranties them for 3, and RMA process is also awful (done that once as well). Was happy that Best Buy had them in stock, so I could rebuild the storage spaces quickly in case other drive failed,
