Awesome product!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super easy to install using the enclosed instructions! I love the ability to turn lights on and off as I wish while on vacation!! You can program them to do it at a certain time but I prefer to do it randomly so as not to set a pattern. It is also nice because if I am getting home later than expected I can turn lights on before I get there. No more coming home to a dark house. I am known as the nag of the house because I am always complaining about lights being left on, not anymore I just open up the app and turn them off myself! I loved these so much I actually went out and got more of the single pole ones and plugs. Now I can have lamps and stuff plugged in as well. The app is simple use as well and makes programming and setup a snap. Only downside was that this particular one can not be used on a circuit that has a dimmer. They do sell dimmer switches in this product line but the standard dimmers are not compatible which was a bit of a disappointment. Also if you have a multiple switchs in one faceplate you do not have to use the enclosed single faceplate.

Easy addition of Smart Device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has been a couple of days since I have installed the WeMo 3 way light switch. They seem to be working without a hitch. I bought the 2 pack of 3 way light switches. You only need one WeMo switch on a 3-way switch, so I am using the other switch for the back yard lights. The app is really easy to use and if you are not sure of how to install the lights, it has a link to their website for an installation video. The instillation of the switches work like installing any normal light switch. I have seen reviews stating that they have been having trouble when they are installing the 3-Way switch on an existing 3-way set-up. The problem is that they are using both WeMo 3-way switch and Belkin states that you only need one, WeMo Switch to operate it. I only installed one and it seems to be working fine. You will just have to pair the switch to your app on your Wi-Fi. Once installed the App helps you set up the device. Operating it is much like any of the other smart device/switch that you have. You can set-up programs, use voice to command.

Your home isn't smart enough to NOT use these!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought my home w/ 40+ smart bulbs, thermostat, garage door opener, smart speakers, etc was near complete until we found these. We had the very common issue where the kids or guests would flip off the light switches and then Alexa would no longer be able to communicate. I even tried flipping the physical switches upside down so they appeared in the down position when on, thinking it would solve the problem, but it remained an issue until I installed these Wemo 3-way smart light switches. Installation in the wall was a snap, just make 100% sure you turn the circuit off at your breaker panel before removing the old & installing the new. Once complete – the remaining setup is very easy. The Wemo app is required for you to pair with your Echo (aka Alexa) to enable voice control, as well as to set up the switches and update the firmware. The Wemo smart switches are aesthetically beautiful compared to our old, generic contractor switches. We really like the built-in light; making it very easy to locate in darkness.

Just Your Average Smart Switch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Starting off, installing these were pretty straight forward, the only issue I ran into was fitting everything back into the wall socket. Since the switch itself is about an inch or so deep, it takes up a bit of the space where the wires normally go. In the end I had to trim the wires way down in order to fit everything back in. After that, it worked just fine but had trouble connecting to my brand new wireless router. Although, that issue might have been on my end since I was only broadcasting in 5 gHz and had disabled the 2.4 gHz signal. I will have to try turning it back on and see if I have better luck getting it connected.

Light Switch of the Future
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wemo - 3-Way Light Switch (2-Pack) The Wemo 3 way light switches can be a game changer in a tech home. Setup: These took a little bit of time to set up and require you to shut off your circuit breaker. Upon shutting it off you will need to then undo one of your light switches and replace it with one of these. Mind you only one of these can be on one circuit breaker so you will have to install the other switch on another breaker. Function: Once installed it will work with your wifi app on your phone and smart hubs. It was really fluid without the hiccups from technology. Quality: I loved being able to schedule the switch to turn on the AC on before I get home and allow me to switch it on and off while I’m away. Overall: If the power does go out it does stop functioning. I will say though it works wonder 99% of the time and adds to the tech to your home making you have more control over it.

Lots of uses you might not think of at first.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When smart home remotely controlled lights and switches first came out, I couldn’t really see an advantage over just walking over to a switch and flipping it by hand. However, now I see that I was not considering all of the possible new ways to use the switches. In our home we have two light circuits that had been a particular problem over the years. The first problem was the lights over our front stairs which were mounted in the ceiling 20 feet above the ground floor. Because the stairway is somewhat free standing, you have to cllimb 5 steps with banisters on both sides before you get near enough to a wall to flip the bottom switch by hand. That meant that going upstairs to bed at night, when you turned all of the downstairs lights off, you had to climb 5 steps before you could turn a light on again. If you were going upstairs with a load of washed sheets and towels carried in both hands, it was very awkward and even dangerous to flip that switch. I removed one of the manual three-way switches and installed one of the WeMo Wi-Fi 3-way light switches in its place. I then installed the WeMo App on my Android and my Wife’s iPhone. Next I used the Google Home App to integrate the WeMo switches into Google Home Voice Control. Now we can simply say “Hey Google, turn the stair lights on” even when our hands are full. After delivering the laundry and turning the bedroom light on, we walk back to the upper stairway three-way switch and turn the stair lights off. Much safer. The other problem light circuit was my work-room at the back of the separate garage. While working in that room I would go in and out of that garage into the yard or house. At the end of the day sometimes I could not be sure if I had turned that light off. Since the window to the workroom could not be seen from the house, it would mean that would have to open that garage’s door so I could see if the light was on. With the WeMo App on my phone, I can see the icon for that light anywhere in the world with Wi-Fi access. If the symbol is green I know the light is on and one touch to that icon will turn the icon grey and the room’s light off. GREAT for peace of mind! Features: - Each WeMo Wi-Fi switch can be programed to control other WeMo switches. For example, any WeMo Switch can be programmed so that pressing it for MORE than two seconds will turn any other WeMo switch you choose on the same Wi-Fi, on or off. - Only one WeMo Wi-Fi 3-way light switch is required for remote control of each 3-way circuit. The other original manual 3-way switch can remain in the circuit. - The WeMo Wi-Fi 3-way light switches will connect to any current 2.4 Ghz home Wi-Fi. - The WeMo Wi-Fi 3-way light switch will handle up to 15 amps (1800 watts at 120 volts ac) - If the home Wi-Fi fails for some reason, the WeMo Wi-Fi 3-way light switches will still work manually. - The free phone App can be used to control each switch on and off on a schedule you determine, or you can have them randomly turn on and off to make the home appear occupied while on vacation. PROS: - Even though the two WeMo Wi-Fi switches included in this package are each capable of replacing a 3-way switch, they can also be used in simpler 2 way (single pole) circuit if necessary. The included manual is very clear on how to adapt this switch to 2 or 3-way circuits. - A Customer Service Tech can be reached with a 1 (800) phone call or by text using the WeMo website. They can help with the integration of the WeMo switch with your Wi-Fi which is rather vague in the setup manual. CONS: - Making the original connection between the WeMo Switch and your Wi-Fi is not as intuitive as most.

Well built and it works with Homekit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The installation guide walks you through removing your old switch and installing and setting up the Wemo switch. I thought it was kind of confusing because they combined the 3-way and single pole installations on the same steps. It would have been easier to follow if they were separated. This switch does need a neutral wire (usually white) so make sure your current wiring has that. All the wires come down from the bottom of the switch and labeled on the back of the switch. In my case, I used this as a single pole switch so I used the white (neutral), green (ground), black (hot) and blue (traveler wire to my light) wires. I capped off the red wire (3-way wiring). The wires are not solid wires but they are soldered together, not frayed. After the installation, the smart home connection was next. I’ve had other Wemo products in the past and I had a lot of connection issues with them. I was hoping this would be different BUT it was not. I had to factory reset the switch. There’s a button below the light switch for resetting wifi or factory reset. Oh and this switch can only connect to 2.4Ghz WiFi so make sure your device that you are using to set this up is connected to 2.4Ghz before you start. Download the Wemo app and this is what you’ll use to set this up. Sometimes the Wemo app loses connection to the switches and you have keep refreshing the device list on the app. Annoying! The Apple and Google Home app doesn’t seem to have that issue though. If you do need to reconnect the switch with Homekit, the HomeKit code is on the manual and on the front and back of the switch. The setup process took about 5 minutes total to successfully setup after the failed attempts that I went through. The second Wemo switch installed without any issues. It comes with a faceplate but I used a 3-gang faceplate instead. The faceplate that it comes with just snaps on to the switch. It also comes with 5 orange wire nuts for each switch and that’s all. The switch is a push button switch like most of the smart switches. It has a round LED indicator on the button which is kind of bright but shouldn’t bother the sensitive sleepers. Now, that it is all set up, I can set up automation with Apple’s Home app or Google Home app. Sorry but I don’t use Alexa but I’m sure it works just fine. Overall, I am liking this switch. The buttons feels more solid than the Lutron smart switches. No hub needed so less clutter!! With this 2-pack, you can make two 3-way circuits smart because you only need per circuit. The switch only has one button for on and off. I’ve been pushing on the top of the switch to turn on the light because I’m so used to doing it that way. Having two separate buttons like the GE smart switches would be better in my opinion and also would decrease on wear and tear on that one button. I simulated a power outage by turning off the breaker and I noticed that the Wemo switch took about a minute or two for the switch to get back online and working with the app and about 5-10 seconds with the physical button. The Lutron and GE smart switches worked almost instantaneously. This switch works for me. I’m using this 2-pack for my kids bedrooms and I like that it has the circle LED on the switch for a bit of a night light and makes it very easy to distinguish which is the light switch in the dark. It’s more solidly built that some of the more expensive smart switches. I just wished it had two separate buttons for turning on and off the light but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Works great once installed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First the good. I have had the switch installed for more than a week and it works great. It simply does what it is supposed to. Great being able to both control our hallway lights with our phones or manually. The switch looks modern and fits in well with most any decor. Now the not so good. That can be summed up in one word, Installation. We live the in a two year old apartment, so finding the correct color coded wires was a breeze. Actually wiring the switch up was pretty easy following the instruction guide that came with them. Once it had power, it was time to set it up. To do that you use the Wemo app. The app instructions were not all that clear, wrong, and left some things out. No where did anything mention the Home App being used during installation. Also it wasn’t clear as to whether you set it up with the Apple Home Code or the Wemo code on the switch. First I tried the Home code with no success. Most frustrating of all, is that after you go to WiFi settings to connect directly to the switch, you’re supposed to come back to the Wemo app. But before you can get back to it, the Home app opens automatically and can’t find the switch. If you then change over to the Wemo app it is still waiting to connect. This was extremely frustrating. I did two factory resets during the 3+ hours it took to set it up. This is where the instructions are simply wrong. They say to push the bar at the bottom while pushing some tab on the left side. There is no tab or button on the left side of the switch. I finally figured out that you simply hold the bar in for several seconds and the switch resets. After the second reset, I used the Wemo code on the switch and it seemed to be working fine until Error Message and App Crash. However oddly enough when I reopened the app it was connected and the switch has worked fine ever since. Sadly, I have never been successful yet in getting the Home app to connect to it. One final negative, Wemo does not talk to Logitech. There is no direct way to connect and control Wemo devices with the Logitech Harmony remote and app. This is huge for me since we control so many things with the Harmony. In summary once installed the switch works great. Connectivity with other control devices is difficult if not totally missing.

smart switches that are handy to use with Alexa
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like using smart switches since I can use them with my Amazon Alexa and or can use them in routines or timers. These switches are not a simple switch to install if you are not comfortable with electricity. In order to install them you need to find the correct breaker in your breaker box. Then you need to pull out the old switch and determine which wires are the ground, load, etc… My light switch had two wires on it and it wasn’t grounded. There was a ground wire in the box and a pair of common that were not connected to my switch, so I had everything I needed. There are six wires on the Wemo switch and you may not use them all, but it can be a bit confusing. I disconnected the two wires from my switch and then used a meter to determine which one was live when I had the other meter probe to common. Then turned the power back off and wired it up. Once wired up, it wasn’t too hard to get it connected to the internet. I already had the Wemo app as I already had a Wemo switch, so that saved me a step. You will need to set it up separately with Alexa if you want to use your Amazon product with it, but that isn’t very difficult either. This switch is not a dimmer, just on and off. I have a Wemo dimmer and it kept losing connection with my wireless router and now I can’t even see it on my network anymore. It will be interesting to see if this one holds up any better. Technology is constantly changing, so I thought I would give it a try. So far I would give it 4 stars based on the fact that the last Wemo wifi dimmer no longer connects. If it holds up I would give it 5 stars.

Updated look for a reliable switch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the single-pole version of these switches for years and they have worked without a problem. This updated version changes the look slightly, which looks better to me, and adds the option to use as a 3 way switch. This was simple to install and setup was a little faster than the previous version. I suspect these will last for years. I'm using them on outdoor lights and have rules set up turn them on and off every day. One that is done, they just work and you don't need to check on them.

Problem Solver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been slowly changing my lighting over to Alexa-friendly bulbs and switches at home. I have lights in two places that can be controlled from more than one switch, so I figured I was out of luck as far as wifi switches. Luckily Wemo makes these two-way switches. You actually only need one of them for a two-switch setup, as only one will need to be remotely controlled. In order to install these you MUST have a neutral (wire) and know how to wire a switch, including connecting the "traveller" wire if you are using these in a two-way configuration. Also, BE SURE to turn off the power at the breaker before starting and invest in a very inexpensive circuit tester. These little guys look kind of like short marker pens and light up if you touch a live circuit with them. ALWAYS check to be sure the circuit is no longer energized even after you turn off the breaker. After installing them the Alexa app will find them and set them up easily. The awesome thing about having them controlled through the Echo is that you can set up "scenes" where you group lights. A simple command like "Turn on Upstairs," for instance, can turn on all of the lights on the second floor at once. I have mine set up to go on and off automatically on different floors when I'm out of town to make it look lived it. Have the downstairs lights turn off around bed time and the upstairs ones go on for a while and no one will know you're not there!

So far so good
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed these fairly easily. So far no issues with performance. I’m always a fan of using timers to auto turn on/off my lights especially for my work day routine (particularly the off timer so lights are the last thing I have to worry about when rushing out of the house). And of course the ability to turn your lights on when you’re away from home longer than expected from your iPhone is always great. Definitely worth trying out if you’re venturing into smart lighting

Automate your home! Versatile two pack!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a number of cobbled together systems in my home for automation and I find that I rely on my google home to integrate many of them. I've been looking for a switch like this for some time that is ZigBee to integrate with my existing Hue hub, but these were less expensive and more versatile than anything I could find. Installation was simple, directions included all the correct wiring for a 3 way or single pole. Wiring was straightforward and I appreciated the inclusion of everything I needed, except the weird snap on decorator wall plates. I don't want my automated stuff to stand out, I want them to blend in. Naturally the app is where you set everything up once it's working, but from there you can add them to your smart system of choice. Once they're up and working correctly there is a soft white glow from the button at the bottom of the rocker when they're off, and bright white when they're on. There is a delay between the haptic click and the audible "click" of a mechanical switch actually being thrown inside, so there can be up to 2-3 seconds before fluorescents with ballasts come on. This took a minute to get used to. Surprisingly it's even faster almost when I use the app or google home to control my lights. Overall I am appreciating having these a lot, they add to the automation of my home and I think they're made well and are working well for me now.

Next step
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started with the WeMo lights around the house, then when the dimmer came out, it went into our chandelier. Now that they came out with the 3-way, our kitchen is all set. As usual, installation is a breeze, operation is simple, and it fully integrates into the Belkin ecosystem Thank you Belkin for another great product in the lineup

Nice design but did not work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Wemo light switches are a nice design. The idea is great and they look great. My problem is that I tried to install in two places in my home where there were single pole switches and neither worked. I did not have a 3-way switch that I could replace. The first place I tried to install one of the switches was where a switch controls the light on a ceiling fan. It did not work and the light was flashing on and off. I didn't try to set up the WiFi at all. I tried calling support at the number provided in the box but after a long wait did not get connected to a tech support person. The other wiring setup where I tried to replace a single pole switch only consisted of three wires, load, neutral and ground. This was my second try and I thought this would be an easy install. I wired the smart switch using the black, white and green wires on the load, neutral and ground wires respectively. I also tried connecting the blue traveler wire to the black load wire but that didn't help. When I turned the breaker back on, the light flashed on and off and the smart switch flashed in time with the blue setup light. I tried to set up the wifi but the switch would not stay on long enough to connect. It tried to connect but then flashed with a red then white light. I again called the number provided in the box with the switches. This time I selected the option to be called back and after an hour or so was contacted. I was told after a long discussion and several trips she made to someone else for help, that the switches won't work on single pole configurations. I was told to contact a licensed electrician to verify my wiring was not defective and then return the switches along with something showing an electrician had verified a working wiring setup. I told her that the box and instructions show that the switches are supposed to work with both 3-way and single pole configurations. After replacing the smart switch with the regular single pole switch the light worked fine which I assume shows that my wiring is not defective.

WEMO - 3 way light switch (2 Pack)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave the product a 4 out of 5 due to me having to figure out how to connect the switch to a 50 year old house. If I had a newer home with 3 way switches I am thinking I wouldn't have had any issues. I got the light switches to connect to my wi-fi and run the setup app, but the light in the stairway kept coming on and off. I rewired my old light switches and got them to work, then retried the connection to the WeMo switches and after a bit I got everything to work. Great product quality and definitely will work, if you have an older house, I would recommend hiring an electrician to assist in the installation.
