But for it to work with apple HomeKit I also had to buy a Apple TV which I have not hooked up yet so not sure if it will work when that is installed or if that will require another purchase. Wemos are nice when they work which is not very often when out of town.

The Wemo devices can be controlled remotely using the Wemo App. When using the Wemo Bridge and the Apple Home App, you can control Wemo connected lights and appliances away from home by using the Apple Home app through Apple TV or you can simply use an iPad set up as a home hub. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this so that i could control my Wemo gear using Siri\Home without the dependency of HomeBridge. I've had it now for 2 months, and every few weeks you'll notice your Home (HomeKit) schedules not working, you open the Home app on your iphone and see the item as "Updating" forever (or until it shows as Offline). When this happens you need to hard reboot the Bridge and a minute later you're good to go. I assume this will be resolved in some future update, but this is far from a show-stopper for me. maybe i should connect the bridge to a Wemo SmartPlug. ;)
