    Great product with room for improvement

    First of all, make sure that the location you would install the switch has the neutral wires, that's the key. I originally wanted to install these switches at 2 specific spots of the house but ended up install at 2 other locations due to no neutral wires. The toughest part of installing for me is fighting to squeeze the WeMo into the little electrical boxes. Other than that, setting up is a breeze. There are some delays when using the smart devices, however, I love the way I can control the lights from outside the house, or the way they interact using IFTTT. Awesome! I wish it allows dimming though...

    For months, I had been discussing how to get my front exterior light on either a timer or app controlled, and the WeMo was the perfect solution! I have a general idea of how things work but am by no means a handy man, and the overall removal of the previous outlet and installation of the WeMo switch took 6 minutes! The app is great and allows you to create "Rules" basically a timer system which send the light on and off automatically for me! I can also use the app to remotely turn the light on and off without the timer. I HIGHLY recommend this product for its easy installation and great usefulness!

    I had WeMo Switches and Outlets in my previous home which I just sold, so decided to do them again in my new house. The problem is I had outlets from over a year ago, with new switches, it took two days for the outlets and switches to get on the same page. One would work then the other wouldn't and vice versa, then one would update the firmware rendering the others unuseable. I have a total of 2 switches and 3 outlets in the house, when you launch the app, rarely do all 5 work at the same time...and that's the problem. Great technology when it works, it just doesn't always do that.

    Good smart switch

    This brand is the only “smart” switch that I have bought (3 switches and 2 outlets) so I can’t say it is better than others however it does work very well. Easy to install and the app is also easy to use. You can use the app to command your lights or link them with Amazon Echo for voice control. Another feature that I Ike is the ability to group lights together and controll them with a long button push on the switch. If you have a switch by your door you can turn them all on without using your phone. I wlll buy more when needed.

    I love home automation and this product is exactly what I was looking for in lighting control. It sets up easily and there are many options for programming the light to automatically operate. It is also easy to install for anyone with basic electrical knowledge. One drawback is that it will only work on a single pole light switch. If you have a light that has multiple light switches that control it from multiple locations, this will not work. Another issue I have is that at times my phone app will not connect with the switch. This may be a problem with my home network, I don't know. Overall a great product.

    Alright, this switch is excellent in its quality and I loved how great it looked on my wall. RETURNED 4 of them, simply because their app and its integration to Google Home is PATHETIC. These devices, EVERY TIME I came home, were disconnected to wifi, couldn't update the firmware, unavailable.. EXTREMELY disappointed. Opted for the new GE Dimmer switches instead, which are also 20 bucks cheaper (yay!) and hoping for better results... Will keep you updated!

    the switch itself is fairly straightforward and easy to install, but the setting up of the switch in the wemo native app, on Alexa, Google Home and Homekit is anything but. It drops spontaneously, it responds with a noticeable lag even on very fast networks and generally is less than user-friendly or that intuitive. Also for Homekit support, Wemo gouges you for an additional outboard bridge even though Apple has released full software integration with Homekit. Hey FoxConn, if you're listening these things need work.

    Although a bit pricey the WeMo switches are easy to install and work quite well. The Wemo switch also looks nice when installed and don't look as tacky as other smart switches such as the lutron or hue switch. I currently use my phone or my invoke speaker (Cortana) to controlling several lights. I have an older home in which the switch boxes seem smaller then modern electrical switch boxes and I really had to squeeze the switches in with the thick box on the back of the switches. Overall no issues and I would recommend wemo switches!

    by itself i would imagine its not great, but when its tied into a whole ecosystem it works wonderfully. i have these installed on every switch with a ceiling fan that can be controlled by my google home, and in my office i can walk in and a motion sensor will trigger the light. porch and patio is triggered by sunset and turns off at 1am, and when we're away we can activate away mode, and the software will randomly turn on and off lights. not sure how quickly, but hopefully in a sensible pattern to make would-be intruders move on.

    I purchased this to control the lights over my bed. I am lazy and don't want to get up and walk 3 feet to the light switch. This was a perfect solution. I can turn my lights on and off with either my Amazon Echo or the Wemo app. Both work great. The installation was simple and the apps functioned with it immediately. This doesn't require any sort of hub--it connects directly to your wifi. Nice product. My next project is to use IFTTT (which the product supports) and create a single command that turns off the light and starts playing Barry White through my Echo.

    I bought two, one the front porch and one for the back. I love them so far and I have six we on outlet switches that monitor power usage. Wow my server is costing me $16 a month to run 24/7, I'm trying to monitor all devices in house to see which one I cut down on power bill. Know I'm going to change all lights in home to led. Back to switch, it's be set to come on and go off at a schedule times, wish they can monitor the electric usage, but they just switch off and on. Let's see how long they last and keep talking to my router before wifi transmitter burns out.

    This product is awesome!! Easy to use and install. App makes it easy to monitor, turn on and turn off all Belkin products. Bought this since the bulb only options were slightly difficult to use on daily basis (had to leave switch on to be able to us app. So either schedules needed to be set on app or had to use phone each time to turn off or one.). Only piece I dont like about light switch is that you cant dim the lights like the stand alone bulbs from Belkin. Possible that I just dont know how. Again, these are awesome and I will be buying a few more.

    The switch was very easy to install and setup, my only complaint is how bulky it is. If you are looking to install in a single switch with the provided switchplate you shouldn't have a problem. When i installed in a 2, 3, or 4 gangbox with non wemo switches, i had trouble keeping the switches flush to the wall because of how much space the switch itself took up + wires. Would recommend purchasing the wemo smart switch for a single switch box, aside from that i suggest shopping around for less bulky smart switches.

    I have recently installed some smart light bulbs in my home to reduce overall power consumption (by being able to turn things off after I've forgotten. My garage was still lingering, though, and I picked up this product to solve that issue. I can setup timers to kill the lights after a period of inactivity (or program IFTTT to turn them off upon receiving an email if I'm away and can't get to the app). I've already reduced my power bill by 40%, and this switch may also knock a few more dollars off each month. It was fairly easy to install.

    Love this item. Bought 4 of these for all my outdoor lights. So wonderful to not worry about the floodlights and porch lights again, especially while on vacation. I have full control on my smartphone as well as just setting it to sunrise to sunset. It was easy to install (although the hardest part was stuffing all the wires back into the wall). Set up was fairly easy on my smartphone. The only part I couldn't figure out was setting it to sunset to sunrise, but a simple call to their support center, and it was done.

    I use several WeMo light switches in my home to control outside lights. They work seamlessly with my Google Home to control them manually and with IFTTT automation to turn them on at sunset or during vacation schedules. However, one major drawback is that the switches loose their configurations if power is lost (such as during a storm), requiring each to be set up manually again switch-by-switch. While this doesn't happen often, it is a disappointment that the switches do not recover and re-sync to wireless automatically after a power outage.

    *I need to add the disclaimer...my wifi may not be optimally set up in the space that I have so connectivity could be a result of user error. Generally these are excellent. They are easy to install (if you know and are comfortable with the basics of wiring) and operate. They work pretty well for the cost and the ability to piecemeal together a home automation solution. If you set them up using IFTTT.com, its an added bonus for the features you can use with the switch. Not sure you want to do some wiring? Just grab the wemo switch and plug in your favorite lamp. No wiring, even easier.

    I purchased 3 of these switches for exterior lights on my house. After using them for a few months and they worked flawlessly, I purchased more for in interior lights. They are very convent when paired with Alexa. When entering a room with your hands full, you can turn them on/off with voice command. My exterior lights turn on and off based on local sunset/sunrise schedule, and interior lights are setup on a schedule. Also, the ability to turn them on/off from anywhere you have internet access is great.

    The device is a replacement for some of my X10 devices (X10 went out of business). The idea is a good one but they are having problems maintaining contact between the device, their cloud server, and my cell phone. It usually works when my cell phone is on my WiFi network at home but when away from home using the cell phone network it sometimes loses contact. It also gets confused if you visit someone that also has the product and you access their WiFi network. It had a problem when DST ended. My lights were turning on an hour early for several days.

    I am using this switch to set my outdoor porch light on a timer and it works beautiful, you can customize anytime you want or have it sunset to sunrise, vice versa or customize it to be 15 minutes after sunset for example and it will re-calibrate with the sunset every day. Can be manually turned on or off from your smart phone and works with Google assistant without a bridge. However does not work with Siri unless you have a bridge connected to your Ethernet cable.
