    My disappointment in this product may have been more to do with how our switches are set up in our house. We have one of these in our garage to control our garage lights and with the exception of having to jury rig it because it was part of a double switch plate, we liked it. Decided to get this one for our patio so we could turn lights on and off remotely. It didn't work. That being said it could have been because there were two switches in two different rooms to control these lights and the electrical current wasn't relaying correctly. The lights acted like they weren't getting enough electricity and wouldn't come on completely. Ended up returning it.

    Will not work in series with other light switches

    WeMo Light Switch by Belkin Will not work in series with other light switches. I have 2 light switches in the outlet box. One controls the hall ceiling light and the 2nd one my porch light. The WeMo is in the 2nd position. The 2nd light switch gets its power by connecting to a screw on the 1st switch, which I call being in series. When I did connections as the original 2 light switches the WeMo just didn't work. I tried various combinations of wiring with negative results. I might try hiring an electrician or maybe the Geek Squad but for just one switch this would be an incredibly expensive connection.

      As long as the outlet have a switch (live/load) wire and is a single-pole circuit, then the Wemo Light Switch should work without a hitch. Consulting a professional electrician is recommended.     Not compatible with 3-way lights

    I had to return this to Best Buy as the very small print on the side of the box indicates it only works with single pole switches. It you have a 3-way switch then this will not work. There is a similar device that provides similar functions but does not connect to the Internet. The Leviton Vizia+ switch is compatible with either single pole or 3-way (with mandatory matching switch for the other location) that can be programmed to turn lights on at sundown and off at sunrise, or any other specific times if desired. Must enter the latitude and longitude of your location but Leviton provides a link to a site that provides that data.

    It's a great idea. The physical switch works without problems, but my old one did that as well! The App is buggy if you use rules. For example, you can set a rule to turn lights on at Sunset and off at Sunrise, just what I needed for my outside lights! I set 2 switches with this rule...they come on & go off at different times by at least 1 hour! Customer support advises starting over and resetting them until it works! I did this and now the one that was correct is wrong and the other one is at the right time. (I gave up) Really needs better support in the form of a functioning App and customer support that gives usable advise.

    Alright, this switch is excellent in its quality and I loved how great it looked on my wall. RETURNED 4 of them, simply because their app and its integration to Google Home is PATHETIC. These devices, EVERY TIME I came home, were disconnected to wifi, couldn't update the firmware, unavailable.. EXTREMELY disappointed. Opted for the new GE Dimmer switches instead, which are also 20 bucks cheaper (yay!) and hoping for better results... Will keep you updated!

    Not reliable and problems when power goes out

    The switch has problems with maintaining connection and reconnecting when power goes out. When I first got the switch installed, it was working ok, but because I knew about the power lost problem, I tried cutting the power to the switch. Afterwards, the switch would not reconnect and had to be reset. Then on its own, it lost connection. I needed a reliable switch so I returned it and got a Z-wave switch instead.

    I bought this to replace an existing light switch. Unfortunately the switch is next to a second switch with one switch plate cover covering both switches, Because of the nonstandard size of the WeMo switch button, it is not possible to cover the WeMo switch and a standard switch with one cover. I sadly had to return the WeMo switch for a refund.

    Not a good wifi switch

    Setting up the switch was difficult. It picked up my home network the first time only so I was never able to set it up as the set up process didn't complete the first time. I had purchased 3 switches so I tried setting up another one but same results so I ended up returning all of them.

    Installation was easy (if you can wire a standard switch, you can install this). It doesn't stay connected to WiFi as well as other brands (I also have some TP link switches in my home and those seem to be much more reliable).

    I own two other WEMO products and like them very much. I thought this would be a great addition. It paired right up the first time and worked perfectly. I had a new modem/router installed and now cannot get it to connect.

    Doesn't work on 3 way switches

    Had to pay an electrician to terminate one of my 2 switches to remove 3 way switch. Product does not work on 3 way switches. They don't tell you this on the package.

    It wouldn't connect to my wi-fi. returned it and the new one didn't connect as well! I returned it and found a different brand.

    WeMo that that great sometimes it works

    Good Switch, App has Problems

    Switch is good, but App has issues. Every morning lights may or may not show up. Have to reset daily.

      It should not require a daily reset to keep it detected by the app. Are the switch's firmware and app updated? Let us start to isolate this challenge by using another phone if there's any. Instead of resetting the switch, you can try rebooting it.
