WeMo is what you want, esp. if you use Homekit

I cannot speak to its integration with other partners, but this is far and away the best smart light switch I have tried. To start, it is stupid easy to install, whereas so many options seem to be duds right out of the box or bewildering in their vague instructions for setup. Even the 3-way switch I bought was up and running in 10 minutes. Integration with HomeKit was a breeze so I imagine other ecosystems would be as user-friendly. These just work, and well so you won’t find a much better choice. One note: not unique to the WeMo switches, smart switches and rockers have a tough time fitting into a standard 1- or 2-gang box, it care and diligence have held steady so far. Recommended.

Light switch was easy to install as I was upgrading from a 1st generation. New design looks great. HomeKit was well worth the upgrade. Easy setup!! Definitely going to be buying more!!

This Wemo is well design and built. I have purchased 4 switch, 2 3 ways and 2 single light switch. Installation was straightforward it too me about 30 minutes to do the all four. smartphone app is smart but needs more bugs fixes as I noticed twice when the switch is recognized but adding process takes longer until I quit and relaunch the app and continue from where I left off. My biggest win is that the Apple Homekit support. I like all of my smart light to be controlled on one place instead of using multiple voice assistants and apps. Looks so neat and futuristic!!

This is a great Product the installation procedure and setting up to your wifi was easy. Make sure to down load the app first before starting the setup. The only issue I'm having now is that the Wemo app intermittently does not recognize my wifi router only when I'm connected to wifi no problem when I switch over to Cellular signal a simple app update should fix this issue, Hello Wemo!!

      Hi,

If you're having challenges with the Wemo app discovering the Wemo devices when connected remotely, there are factors that could affect this such as the Wi-Fi connection. Try connecting the phone to another Wi-Fi/ Cellular mobile connection and check if it'll be having the same behavior.

We'd like to get this over to our Escalation Engineers for further assistance. Please send us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this post as a reference.

First time using a wifi switch considering most indoor lights are wifi/app controlled. This switch is controlling fixed outdoor uplighting that can onmy be controlled manually by a switch. This is a great alternative to controll anything connected to a manual switch and even set up schedules through its app. Awesome addition and will purchase another in near future. Easy install and set up.

The switches work great relatively easy to install and very simple to setup. This is a great option if you want to add smart functions to a few switches in your home. Due to the fact that each switch is connecting directly to your WiFi you may want to either beef up your network or look for a system that works through a hub. For my setup this works great and it's integration with Google Assistant is amazing.

We have a basement lighting set up where one switch controls all lighting in the room. Rather than buying tons of expensive smart bulbs, we replaced the one light switch with this Wemo and it has worked flawlessly. One thing to keep in mind, you will need a ground wire. Our electrician had to pull one to make this work. I especially appreciate how well this works with Apple's HomeKit ecosystem.

Installation was a bit of a challenge due to the size of the switch and it being a 4 wire going to a 3 wire setup but now that everything is setup I love it. Program it up on a schedule for my outdoor lights and done. Easily brought into the Home app.

This little guy has made our lives easier. We have been able to set it up to work with voice control with Amazon Alexa. So now if our hands are full and we need light in that room, we can simply tell Alexa to turn it on. The install is fairly simple. Just make sure you have the electricity to the switch off when doing it.

Simple to install. What I really like about the switch is the auto off setup plus it works with Alexa. I've had a switch in my entry way for about 3 years now. This one I installed in my garage & set it to auto turn off after 30 minutes. When I come home in the dark I tell Alexa to turn it on. By the time I carry in groceries & put them away it auto turns off. My hands are usually full of something I'm taking to or carrying out of the garage so telling Alexa to turn on the light means not struggling to flip a switch with full hands. And since I'm usually preoccupied with doing something with the stuff in my hands, not having to remember to tell Alexa to turn it off saves energy. I don't know how many times I've gone out to get the laundry to find the light is still on. Now I don't have to worry about whether I turned it off.

Replaced a number of light switches with these. Some had easier setup than others. Fitting in 2 or more on a multigang switch was difficult to align them since they are a little bulky. Once set up though these work amazingly, sync to HomePod so google doesn’t sell the data of how often I turn lights on and off.

Easy hookup and works well! This rocker switch only uses he bottom, so took me a short while to get used to it coming from a switch that moved on top and bottom. Also, has pigtail wires, so may use a bit more space in the box than those where the wall wires go into the switch.

Works perfect! The only thing I wish it has was plug-in wiring with screws to tighten them down. This comes with the wiring attached and then you have to use wire nuts which packs more stuff into the electrical box. Eventually it went it but it was a challenge. That said I bought this for my front lighting for my house and it lines up perfectly with dusk-to-dawn AND offers many options, including your own options for adding or subtracting time from the actual dawn/dusk times for your lights to turn on or off. I did not interface this to Alexa, because I want the Wemo app only to handle the front lighting. It's purely automatic and I don't need voice control. I have the app. ;-)

Easy to install and easy to set to setup with Apple Homekit. Switch looks nice, can be remotely controlled or used like a normal light switch. Switch did not feel cheap and was UL rated. Homekit users, you do not need the meross app. Turn on power after installed>settings>wifi>install to network> scan code> finish setting up in homekit. If firmware is needed, homekit will let you know. I also use meross outlets which work very nice too. I read complaints of hard to connect or setup on smart devices. I think many of todays routers have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz transmitters. You have to be on the 2.4 to setup the smart device. If you have simultaneous dual transmitters you can go back to the faster 5ghz after setup. If not you need to stay on the 2.4. Hopefully this helps some people. If not get an Apple because I have never have an issue on device install as long as on same frequency band

I keep buying more of these because I love the brand! I have replaced several switches around my house because it only takes 5 minutes to put it in and integrates into HomeKit with no problem. I couldn't imagine living without them in my home.

Looks great, works very well once set up Install and set up can be difficult. First, installing it in the box is set up to be easy, and in some cases likely is. Be aware the back of the switch is quite deep. If you have shallow boxes (like metal ones in older houses) these switches won’t fit. In addition to the depth, the wiring is lead wires that require wire nuts (as opposed to spring loaded socket contacts you find on some outlets. The wire nuts add to the depth problem. Adding the switch to the wemo app is frustrating. Sometimes you have to restart your phone. Sometimes you have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Once you get them up and running, I don’t have any issues with them.
