Solid Single-Purpose Cordless Trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a no-frills cordless device that simply trims hair and doesn't have 10,000 different attachments, this may be for you. Initially, I was surprised and disappointed when I opened the box. There was only one attachment, and that is a plastic comb that goes over the blades. These days, I'm used to seeing a variety of attachments that allow a trimmer to perform different functions. But this trimmer has one function: trimming hair. To be fair, it does a very good job trimming hair, particularly for a cordless trimmer. The blades are sharp and consistent. I appreciate the dial that allows you to set the trim height. The trimmer itself feels solid and well-made. It can be used wet or dry. It functioned as well as trimmers I've used with cords, which says something about how strong the battery is. However, the blade head is pretty wide. This is great for trimming hair on your head and cheeks, but not nearly as good for trimming a mustache. You can't do any detail work with this trimmer. If you don't need detail work, that's fine. But if you do, you'll want a different trimmer. I skimmed the description on BB, which indicates you can use the trimmer while charging. Nope, the charging base plugs directly into a power outlet, and then the trimmer has to sit in the charging base to charge. There is no cord, so there is no way to use the trimmer while charging. This entire setup is annoying, actually. The charger is bulky and may block your use of other outlets. It also comes with a packet of lubricating oil and a small cleaning brush. In my tests, it has held a charge well, and it has plenty of power for trimming hair. I was impressed with how it functioned. So, if all you want is to trim hair and don't mind the charging setup, go for it. But if you want any other options, there are products on the market that are more versatile. Due to the limited functionality and the annoyance of the charger setup, the highest I could rate this is a 4-star, but I again note it does a very good job as a basic trimmer, which is its sole function. Unfortunately, due to the charger and the limited functionality, I can't really recommend this product to most people, although it will be good for a specific use if you don't mind the charger setup.

Good Trimmer, but a bit bulky for me.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its blade is very sharp and a replacement blade is available from the Panasonic website. Its one comb/guard is operated and adjusted by an adjustment wheel so hunting up the right one and stowing the others away is not a factor. You just rotate the dial to the desired setting and change as desired. (Length approximations as related to the numbers on the dial are given in the owners manual.) It can be used wet or dry, however cutting longer hairs/whiskers with it is not advised by Panasonic. You can easily clean it up under running water which is a nice feature. What I dont like: 1. Despite the item description on Bestbuy.com you CANNOT use the trimmer while its plugged in as the charging base plugs directly into the outlet and has no cord at all. 2. The battery is old technology, Ni-MH. Why not a lithium ion? With its 30 minute battery charge life its going to need charged a few times a week, at least for myself. 3. Really dislike the charging base plugging directly into the wall. (It prevents both outlets in a duplex from being used while its plugged in) Mine will end up on a short extension cord as soon as I can go buy one for it 4. Its bulky with a much larger trimming head than I am accustomed to using. Not upper lip friendly at all with the comb attached. 5. Weighing in at just a penny under 50 bucks throws it up into the bottom end of professional equipment prices and many of those pro models have a lithium ion battery and a much longer battery life to go with it. But if your looking for an all in one trimmer thats easy to use and clean and my dislikes are not your dislikes, this trimmer just may be what your looking for.

Variables 2 Consider B4 Purchase
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gifted my guy this beard trimmer; but, my expectations were that he would be able to eliminate shaving with a blade. Instead, when he cuts his hair, he will be able to use the trimmer for very specific tasks such as trimming his mustache, his sideburns and the nape of his neck. He tried both the wet/dry option and prefers the wet with the tool set at the lowest setting to get the closest cut for his beard. The settings panel is on the face of the handle and is graded to offer the user a wide range of hair lengths, 19 total settings (0.5 mm gaps from 1mm to 10mm)! The tool also has a really balanced and rugged feel in the hand with an easily removed comb to afford the user the option to put the metal trimmer directly on the skin. He was really pleased with the refined five o’clock shadow look as a casual fashion statement; but, will opt for a blade cut when trying to get silky smooth ‘aqua velva’ results. He has that super thick hair shaft that is really hard to lift even when wet and softened with shaving cream. Mos’ def is that this device is cordless and designed to sit in its charger for direct mounting into an outlet. More fun is the water proof body that allows shaving in the shower. There is maintenance.: Was a bit difficult trying to remove the shaver head. Instructions are not super clear for head removal; but, he was finally able to figure it out. You are provided a small brush to clean the teeth of the shaver after each use; and, a small bottle of oil is provided for oiling the teeth, before and after use. Haven’t yet found the type of oil in the instructions; so, maybe I will have to call corporate when the oil bottle needs to be refilled. Best battery protocol is to let the tool run down to zero power before recharging. A full charge allows 30 minutes of use. Pay attention to the battery management in the instructions to get the most life out of the battery. Thankfully, the battery won’t get hurt by overcharging; but, we will both monitor charging to remove the tool from the outlet after a day’s worth of charging. So, for those good at micro-management of your grooming tools and protocols ...and, you know who you are (characteristic of Blood Type A's...this item can up your styling game if you can juggle the tool management.

Nice!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a nice hair trimmer. The adjustable settings allow you to change according to how you would like your cut. The included charger stand needs to be plugged into the wall so you will need to find a good area to charge, but it's compact so it won't take up a lot of space. It is very easy to use, got a nice even cut all around. This is a great gift for the guy in your life that likes to keep up their beards.

Sharp blades
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm writing this review with the assistance of my husband. When we first received it and read the instructions, we were very surprised that the trimmer required 15 hrs of charge time for 30 minutes. That seemed rather excessive. Thirty minutes charge time would however be several uses so it isn't like it's being charged after each use. He says it's quiet compared to his other trimmer. The blades are very sharp and it has no drag on the face. He likes that the adjustable comb is sturdy and removes easily from the unit. The blade width is too wide to trim mustache lip line, but fantastic for the beard. He likes that it does snap into the charging base very securely, however the base plugs directly into the outlet. Our outlet now doesn't have room for other items so an extension cable to allow the base to sit on the counter and still be charged would have been a good idea to give users options. A travel case would have been nice as well. All in all, the functionality is good with sharp blades and the adjustable comb provides a wide range of length options.

Really good trimmer with comfort features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I want to get straight to what makes this electric trimmer so good. It's that at its price point it has every single comfort feature that I would want. It has an adjustable head on it so that you can trim to your desired length. It is rechargeable and the recharge speed works really well. It's also really neat that the charger isn't just a cable that you can plug into it, but it's an actual base. I don't personally keep it out that way because I have cats, but it is a nice thought similar to my toothbrush where it's really convenient. My only complaint is that while it can get the bulk of my thick beard off, it struggles to get the finer parts of my beard which really takes away the "precision" side of it for me, but overall it's a great part to a shaving set and it is easily recommended.

Best trimmers I have used yet!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot say enough how I enjoy using these trimmers. Panasonic has hit this one out of the park in my eyes. The first design I saw that stuck out to me was the charging station, it plugs into the wall and actually stays there. The weight of the trimmers does not pull the charging station out of the socket, great design, now I know it's always charged, without wires and taking up space on my sink. Next, it works, simple as that, no pulling, tugging and ripping off the hair. These trimmers make quick, easy, and comfortable work of facial and head hair. The quick dial adjustment is a great design. It is definitely not made for long beards or hair, but for most, it will work great. The Panasonic trimmers are also very easy to clean, especially with the brush included and then oil them back up, which a tube o oil is included as well. Great job Panasonic, you hit a home run with these I look clean and trimmed up in minutes and I can touch up before leaving to the office every morning in a minute.

A really good cordless hair and beard trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really good hair and beard trimmer, but does not come with multiple attachments for other things. I believe this is the right decision, because too often when trying to do too many things, it becomes not very good any of the things. Panasonic did a good job designing and building this cordless hair and beard trimmer. Why do I say this? There are quite a few things about it that I like, and only a couple of things I had wished were different. The unit is easy to hold and work through your hair. That is important because it isn't a tiny little machine but rather a unit that you can hold while you do your hair/beard (I used it to do my hair, I don't have a beard). The height adapter is firmly attached the unit feels sturdy and not like it is going to fall apart. The dial to adjust the height of the cut is sturdy and feels solid as you dial up and down the height selector. The on/off switch also feels very solid. And it cuts through hair like a hot knife through butter - this works really well. The charger base is without a cord, you sit the unit into the charger cradle, it sort of snaps in, and then sits there while it charges, without any cord to get tangled. The things I don't like? There is no charging indicator or remaining battery life indicator on the tool itself. There is a charging light on the charging base (that plugs into an outlet). You won't know you that you don't have enough battery left to do your hair, until it runs out part way through. So it will require more frequent charging to ensure you don't run out. I wish it had a cord that ran between the charger and the unit, because as we have so many things to plug in and charge, having a free outlet that allows for this thing to stand up and charge is a bit of a challenge. In particular in a bathroom where I will keep this, those outlets are always charging a razor, tooth brushes, or even a nightlight. Would I recommend this? Absolutely - it is the best cordless hair trimmer I've used in a number of years. I gave up trying to do my own hair, which I did for years, because I could not find a decent cordless trimmer that was easy to hold, sturdy, and with a wide enough head to keep this task to a minimum as far as going back through over and over again. There is a small brush and oil that comes with the unit, which is great. I only wish it came with a little bag to keep everything in, especially since I don't want little pieces of hair all over the place and would rather than end up in the little bag.

Great Trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this trimmer overall. I felt like I had good control over it in and out of the shower. It didn't become slick or anything in the shower. The guard caught a lot of hair which made it so there was less mess. There are a lot of fine options with the guard settings. I like being able to just run it under some water to get rid of all the little hairs. Loved that it came pre-charged. There are some things that I wish were improved. I was able to use it to trim some tight areas but it would be nice if the head was a little smaller to make mustache trimming a little easier. I still had to go back with a straight edge to get all the lines clean. The guard didn't go long enough for my preference. When using in the shower you need to be going for a close shave because the water causes the hair to lay flat.

Great Wet and Dry Trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Panasonic Hair Trimmer is great for personal needs. It has both wet and dry operations and therefore provides much variety. Its easy to clean with the drain function. It works for about 50 minutes on a full charge is OK with me - trimming my beard usually takes 5 minutes or less. I like the charging stand (as opposed to the more usual pluf-in charging cord) and have found that cleaning and rinsing it after use only takes a minute or so - and I have ALWAYS cleaned trimmers after each use - so I did not find this suggestion unreasonable or problematic. Also it is cordless which gives you the freedom of movement and frankly these days should be a standard anyways. Overall a good product and a fair price. Recharging time is slightly long

Amazing Clipper!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I'd like to say that I consider myself a bit of a clipper connoisseur. I'm a very hairy man, I wear my head shaved, and do my best to keep my beard cropped down to a shadow length. But, even at shadow length I want it to be contoured, beveled, blended and faded. I'm a mature man with a round head and face, so I depend on my scruff to contour my jowls a bit, sculpt my jawline, lend a bit of prominence to my modest chin, and even obscure the beginnings of a turkey waddle. I employ a collection of clippers and outliners to achieve some semblance of symmetry , but as often as not, I fall short in my skills, causing me to appear like a Picasso portrait of his Cubist period. I then either shave it all off, or attempt to even it out over the next few days. I dread travel because I need to carry a minimum of two types of clippers, as well as my regular shaving gear. I recently received the Panasonic Precision Trimmer. My expectations were modest at best, being no strangers to the latest entries into the home grooming tools. Well, I have been proven wrong. This thing is a gift from the clipper gods. The ability to adjust bead length by DIALING in such precise increments is AMAZING! I'm truly blown away. It has totally taken the hassle out of trimming my facial hair. I'm able to fade my beard a millimeter at a time, and no worry about the attachments slipping. Also, the width of the blade allows for a more even overall outcome. The narrower shaving heads can cause high and low spots when going over the chin area, as well as the under the nose when trimming my mustache. I truly was skeptical, but in all honesty, I'm ready to throw this thing in my bag and travel. It's nice to see an innovation that actually functions as intended. I’m satisfied beyond any reasonable expectation.

decent trimmer with length adjustment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a nice trimmer with a built in adjustment for length. The guard and blades are both removable for cleaning. The unit is quiet and trims well. My only two cons are a lack of battery gauge, so it just dies when it dies, and you cannot use while plugged in. If the trimmer dies mid trim, you are only going to be partially trimmed while it charges back up.

A good choice with qualifications
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This should be rated as excellent, but the product needs some help. As far as being a functional trimmer, it does a great job. Feels nice & solid to the hand, nice smooth adjustment, doesn't pinch as some cheaper ones do, and cleans easily. Why isn't it excellent? The whole charging thing is a mess. The charger takes up too much space, and the charger has no cord, so the trimmer needs to be plugged into the base. For most people, bathroom outlets are at a premium, we don't need a product that demands space. How many times have you reached for a trimmer and found it's dead? Get the cord & plug it in, right? Can't do that here - no cord. The fact that it has Nicad batteries is no help either - at this price, you should be getting lithium batts for a longer run life. I've spent my life buying $15-$25 trimmers, if I'm spending double the price, I expect a little more. So, good device, poor execution.

Works great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this. Instead of coming with a world of attachments it has a dial on the shaver that let's you adjust the shave length. No wires makes it really easy to use and it holds battery really well. It's light and easy to grip and makes grooming very easy. I shave my head and face with this and have no issues at all.
