Pros: Strong Stand that looks really good. Very popular Cons: Weird "Tripod" feel with how it stands. Lip inside spine can catch cables I decided to test this stand with a VIZO 75" M series TV - and it actually works out pretty well. Obviously the sides of the TV stick out wider than the stand, but there is plenty of gap room between the bottom of the TV and the top shelf - and its very stable. The TV weight is well below the stand weight cap. I've included a dark and blurry picture of how it fits for your convenience (originally it was taken to show The Division on the TV). The TV rotates freely, but not so freely that you can't keep it in the right angle that you need it. The stand doesn't really have the "get what you pay for" feel The glass is tempered and none of the wood was chipped (although they did include the brown furniture marker in case you do get a chip). I did manage to put a small dimple in the metal when I dropped the box during transport. But I can't take off a star for that. They even include extra screws (I didn't put it together wrong I swear) in the package along with extra washers. Overall, I'm very pleased with the stand. If there is one negative, its that the feet on the bottom combined with the spine in the back make for a "tripod" feel. I'd prefer more contact points to the floor. Then again, this could be that I didn't fully adjust the feet. The cable management is a nice touch, but it can be a pain to weave multiple HDMI/Power cables around the internal "lip". So you'll have to do the whole push and pull dance to snake them down. I didn't proof read this review, so sorry if there are some words randomly where they shouldn't be. Its pretty much how I think

Tricky to assemble, faulty part, but...

Received the box and it was really heavy. I had a difficult time assembling this myself, as some parts need to be held in place for the screws to be secured. It's tricky to assemble alone but still possible. Assembly was well-documented and easy to follow. HOWEVER, there is a faulty part, and I didn't realize it until the stand was already 3/4 assembled. The faulty part in my case was the SWIVELING BRACKET (part i), which seems to have been welded or painted in place, which prevents it from swiveling. Hence, I could only follow the instructions on assembling a table-top console, instead of my desired floating swivel mount. Will be calling Whalen customer service to see if I can have the faulty part replaced, but as a table-top console, the stand is very stable and secure. My 65-inch Sony X900F TV and Sony HTX-9000 soundbar looks good on top of it, and there is enough room in one shelf to fit my Sony 4K bluray player, PS4 Pro, and cable box. For those in search of a visual guide to assemble this, check this link: https://vigs.sellpoints.com/products/whalen-3-in-1-tv-console-bbxl54nv/ Will edit this review depending on whether or not I receive the replacement part from Whalen.

    Poor Quality

Short Review: The stand does hold a TV, but countless scratches and gouges in the material highlighted the poor quality. Directions are not in a good order which added a lot of time onto the assembly since I had to take things apart and jump ahead in the directions. The arm of the stand was put on backwards at the factory and the middle shelf is only secured by two small screws in the back and one on either side at the ideal pivot point which causes instability if anything heaver than a few DVDs are on that shelf. Longer Review: I received an unopened box and only traveled a short distance with the box laying flat in my car. As soon as I opened the box I was immediately disappointed when I saw that both of the wooden legs had marks on them as if something was dragged across them. I thought it might be the just dust and dirt on them (which there was a good amount for being boxed). Once I cleaned up the legs with some spray clean I saw what looked like a child went to town with a hammer on the one with several large indentations in the leg. I took them down into the basement where the stand would ultimately go and thought it wasn't too bad and I could deal with it given they provided a touch up pen. I went about assembling the stand and found multiple bubbles beneath the paint on the front of the metal shelves and rough parts as if they just painted over burrs and gouges in the face. Again I figured these marks would be hidden under the glass shelves and is going in my darker basement. I usually toss out the instructions since they usually only complicate things but with so much hardware provided I wanted to be sure I secured everything properly. This was a mistake as the order of the instructions was not logical and made subsequent steps difficult because the previous step limited the movement required in the prior steps. As I was securing the top shelf to the legs, I realized they attached the leg backwards which left the pilot holes to screw into on the outside of the stand. I had to take apart the previous 3 steps in order to get the shelf in the proper orientation with the legs. The last thing that annoyed me was that the middle shelf was only secured to the legs by a single screw on either side. These screws were almost perfectly in the center so the shelf tilts if a cable box is placed on it anywhere other than the back. It does not look horrible when I was finished but this is greatly helped by the fact that it is in my basement close to a wall so I could hide the bad side. I had a friend help me transport the stand and other items I purchased back from the store and he left before I opened it. If he had stayed longer I would have taken it back before I assembled it.

Great value in a very flexible stand

I purchased this stand in a hurry - I found out while setting up my new set that the existing stand was simply not wide enough for my new TV to fit on. I checked BestBuy.com and read a few reviews of some of the stands, deciding to take a look at this stand in store. I immediately loved the utility of it - there are multiple ways to use it for your set and it includes a great deal of shelf space for your home theater components or media. Ultimately I settled on using the clever built-in wall-mount style stand - it raises the set off the top glass giving me a perfect place to put my center channel speaker. I love the flexible design and options, the size was perfect for my location in my home, and it even has clever cable hiding holes to make the cable runs you need to. If there were any negatives they involved the attaching of the glass panel shelves and the set mounting hardware. I'll try to be specific about each: GLASS SHELVES - the shelves attach to the stand with suction cups - there are 24 of them (8 per shelf) that must be pushed into a tab on the arms of each shelf. To put it simply, this really was a challenge as the suction cups did not want to go in without a huge amount of effort. My advice is to put some vaseline or similar grease that you can wipe off the portion you put through the tab - it will make inserting them a little easier. MOUNT HARDWARE - be aware that while the mounting hardware kit that comes for the wall-mount style arrangement is pretty extensive, you might need to get additional parts to make it work. Some of the new sets - especially the ultrathin or curved sets - will likely need to use the hardware that came with the TV, rather than the stand. In my case I had to order some bolts from Amazon but they worked perfectly. Overall, I am VERY happy with this purchase and while the two things I mentioned above are negatives they definitely would not stop me from buying this stand! It is well made and as I noted, very flexible.

The good: For what it is, it gets the job done. The not-so-good: If you are mounting your TV to the rack and swivel on the mast of the stand, be prepared for some headaches. Like many other people who have reviewed this product, I encountered the problem where my TV was not level relative to the top-shelf surface. The difference in height from one corner of the TV to the other, relative to the top-shelf surface was roughly 1" and you could easily see that the TV was not straight relative to the whole rack. I then had to go through and figure out what was going on. In my examination, I discovered that there are two possible areas for slop to happen if you are not diligent enough: mounting the swivel to the mast, and mounting the horizontal rack to the swivel. In each case the holes that the bolts go through are a bit larger than the diameter of the bolts. To counter this problem, as I was securing things, I had to take a tape measure and measure each bottom corner of the face of the swivel mount relative to the top-shelf surface (temporarily in place) to make sure that the measurements matched. Then, when mounting the horizontal rack to the face of the swivel, I measured each corner of the rack relative to the top-shelf surface to make sure those measurements matched. Once I did that, I re-fastened my TV and took measurements of its corners relative to the top-shelf... the difference was less than 1/8" and the TV looked relatively fine. In all, the stand is not quite designed well enough to just automatically throw stuff on and fasten with screws... you have to be very diligent in what you're doing.

I have a 55” Samsung 9 series. Fits prettt much any center channel under the main shelf with room to adjust giving as much as 9 3/8” from bottom of tv to top of shelf. That beings said, cable management is great but build quality is what your paying for. It is not that great. The welding and punch outs are sub par! I wasn’t able to tighten 2 of the top shelf threads because they were already stripped out. It looks nice once it’s put together but looks are very recovering! Build quality is lacking for sure. Also I was told that it tilted forward and back which it definitely does not! Only side to side with the tv mount. I would of easily paid more for better quality of the same design. They diesigend it right but manufactured very sub par! Most users will rate it grate for function alone. However steel is thin and bent and pushed in from the threading process. All welds look horrible. I could weld ten times better and I am not a welder. Also take not the vesa mount may have too long of screws for bigger TVs. You may need additional washers. The spacers for my Samsung were too long but 5 washers was not enough. It is tricky to setup correctly. Looks great and hides wires very well though.

Purchased this to mount our new 60 inch flat screen. There are several versions of this stand, with different manufacturers listed, but at Best Buy they are by "Whalen". The unit is made up of a a steel spine, which also acts as a mounting post for your TV, to which you attach the metal shelf frames. Then the side panels are attached to these frames to make a solid structure. Suction cups are attached to the shelf frames, and the tempered glass is 'placed' on them. That's it. You can remove the spine extension and wall mount the TV, or you can sit it on the cabinet top, after affixing a small plastic 'stop' to the table top. We chose to use the supplied post for hanging our TV on the included swiveling backing plate (as depicted in the image). The TV can turn about 45 degrees to either side using this mounting bracket. The TV is 'hung' on the bracket with simply v-notches and then the bottom hooks have bolts which are tightened to hold it to the frame (think of the little bolts used on light fixtures to hold glass covers on). While not overly secure, it seems stable enough. The table itself is not heavy- probably less than 60 lbs- with the tempered glass shelves in place. Add another 45 lbs for the 60 inch TV and I have an easily moved TV console. Cons: The manual for this unit is poorly written. It depends on drawings a lot, and some of those are confusing. There is supposedly an assembly video, but every time I tried to access it, it was unavailable. There are also defects in the tempered glass- not structural, but there are white blemishes in the surface that make the glass look dirty, and cannot be cleaned. Finally, the supplied "support strap" is a joke. it is nothing more than a 6 inch long piece of plastic that would most likely snap at the first minor earthquake.

This stand was purchased for a 65 inch Samsung TV after initially considering a stand that had cabinet doors. This one looks fantastic and was well worth the price. We wiggled a few others at the store and this one felt much more secure than other similar options. The stand is heavy in its box, but it should fit in an average car or SUV with a seat down. It helps to have 2 people to put it together. When you install the wood screws for the side legs on the top, there are no pre-drilled holes, but they are screwed in fairly easily with a manual screwdriver. The plastic cups to hold the glass shelves are a pain to install. I would try softening them with a hairdryer to see if that helps. We decided to use the TV mount as the nicest and safest option for the TV. The provided screws only worked on the Samsung if the recommended washers were left off. We couldn't find longer screws at the hardware store so we made due and it seems to work. As there are three ways to use the stand (hang on wall with stand separate, mount on the 'spine' with the provided mounting bracket or just sitting directly on the top shelf of the stand), you end up with a lot of extra small pieces (screws, nuts, spacers) that you can save in case you change your mind on the way your are using the stand. You can channel the cords through the spine, but you can still see the cords through the shelves if you don't fill the shelves with equipment or other items. Overall, we really like stand. It works well and it looks great in our room. It looks better in real life than it does on the initial picture on the website. We had great service at the store and definitely recommend this unit, especially for the price.

Best TV stand for my personal preferences out there! I love it and would definitely buy another also recommend this to anyone in the market for a new tv stand. Assembly was easy for the most part, the quality of the material is great, and being able to mount my tv without drilling holes in the wall is awesome. I have a 55 inch LG 4K TV mounted up there right now soon to upgrade to a larger screen. The mount holds it securely so I don’t have to worry about it falling, also being able to swivel the tv so I can view from anywhere in the room is great. I looked at a lot of comparable stands and I’m glad I paid a bit more for this one and don’t regret it one bit. You get what you pay for and I got a great stand / mount. I took these pictures to try and give an idea of how it actually looks in real life, hope it helps. Hey on a different note, isn’t my cat Dar’Tainian just the coolest little dude you’ve ever seen? Haha his picture stays in the front of the tv shelf to display My most prized possesion (my cat) right there with another one of my favorite things that I own (the tv stand / mount)

This stand was a great deal. Saw it online at Best Buy as a "50 items for 50% off sale". Yes, $99, great deal. It looks really sharp with my new 65" Samsung mounted to it. Well made, with solid materials. Three of us put it together, which was relatively easy. Not a one person job, especially mounting the TV. It comes with mounting hardware to mount just about any TV. Even a 70" may fit on the top mounting holes. That is what my TV is mounted to. I did not use the provided anti-tip wall wall anchor kit. Pretty stable without. Two reasons it did not get a 5 Star rating from me. One, there were to many left over screws. That was mainly due to the included TV mounting kit. It is nice when doing a build, that you use everything in the box, with no leftovers. The other issue was with installing the like 24 total suction cups, that the glass shelves sit on. *TIP* Use a hairdryer to soften up the suction cups before trying to insert them in the holes. Also, twist them as you insert them. One other note, this is all of 92 lbs. Mainly due to the glass shelves.

I love mounting my TV's on the wall but I didn't want to hassle with all that for my old TV. Found this for great price at $129.99 on Black Friday which I would say its probably the price this stand should cost. I gave it 4 stars because the TV looks great and pretty stable without having to make holes in the wall which to me was a necessity. You don't have to use the mount like did as you can skip this step and use it as a traditional stand. The black tempered glass for the shells looks pretty slick but I would not recommend this stand if you have kids as the stand comes with suction cups to mount the glass shelves. I don't have kids and have this stand setup in a spare bedroom. If you have your stand delivered as I did to the store, you might run into the same issues as others have before me. The stand steel frame has scratches and dings on it from the delivery. At first I was a little disappointed but at the same time I didn't spend normal listed price of $199. The stand does come with a marker which you can use to cover up the scratches but in the end I cannot see the scratches due to the black tempered glass so it is not a big deal to me. In summary: Pros: - Great stand to get the look of a mounted TV. Cons: - Pricey at $199 - Gets damaged easily when delivered - Glass shelves are held in place by suction cups and the frame (There is a ton of suction cups but its risky in my opinion around kids)

After getting a new 65" flat screen TV, I decided it was also time to upgrade my stand. After careful research and considering several different type of stands, I decided to go with the Whalen 3-in-1 Console. Although, its a 3-in-1 console, I opted for the swinging floater setup. There's also the tabletop setup as well as the wall mount setup. It's a very nice stand and what drew me to it the most was the design of the side arms/legs which hold the shelves in place. Putting this stand together wasn't too bad, however, I did run in to a couple of minor issues. First off, the pre-drilled holes did not quite line up when attaching the side arms/legs. But I was able to get them in securely. The other issues was those dang suction cups. Wow they were kinda tough getting into the holes on top of the frame where the glass tops are placed. After struggling a tad with the side arms/legs, everything else was pretty much smooth sailing. It took me approximately 3.5 hours to put this thing together by myself. I only needed help when it came to actually hanging my TV on the back frame. Initially my thought was OMG my TV is gonna fall, as before I've always said that I would never, buy a stand that I would have to pretty much hang my TV on. However, its been almost a month now and my TV is still standing tall. I will note that due to the tops being glass and black at that, it is a magnet for dust as well as fingerprints. Thankfully there's no small children in my household. I would recommend this stand to anyone. I actually have this thing set up in my bedroom and it looks very nice.

I just moved into a rental and all my furniture is in storage. I had a company coming in to install TV and internet service and I did not want to mount my big screen to a wall and have to pay damages when I moved out. So I went to Best Buy and I found the stable that I can mount my TV to. Truthfully it took over an hour to assemble but that is only because of my eyesight and I wanted to double check everything. once finished the table looks awesome very modern and it does not have a bunch of drawers that I need to open and see what's inside. a side benefit that I had no idea what happened was that I have my soundbar wolffer between the two shelves of the TV and it actually makes it sound better. the mounting bracket for the TV allows it to be at different heights it took me a few tries to get it to the exact height I wanted. I did have the zip tie all the wires and hide it behind the mounting bracket to get them out of sight once I knew where all my equipment was going to go. but I love the table it is solid it looks good and it's not so heavy that I can't move it to a different location if I wanted to.

I really do not like to complain but unfortunately, I have no choice. Upon arriving home and unpacking everything I notices that a few of the tabs on the shelf were broken and then noticed the back spline was bowed to the left. Not good!! I called Whalen's customer service to give them a chance to rectify the situation before writing a bad review or wasting my time and energy of returning the product. I was assured that all the broken pieces would be shipped out to me in 7 to 10 days. I was fine with the waiting time since my situation was handled (so I thought) and since I work 7 days a week 16 hours a day it saved me 2 hours and the hassle of returning it. Last night I received one of the pieces, just got off the phone with customer service and was called a liar. Rep told me that they had to verify and call me back to see what was offered to me 10 days ago because I never received the replacement shelf. Everything has been in pieces in my living room floor going on two weeks already. He promised that they would call me back this Friday and that they would basically let me know if I was lying or not. I will be lucky to get the replacement shelf shipped to me in another 7 to 10 days. Meaning that I would have waited a whole month in order to assemble the stand. If not then I will be stuck will a broken shelf that'll cause the glass to fall, break and create major damage.. Then who would be help responsible for everything? Not Good Whalen!! Not Good at all. I'm not even sure that BB would take everything back without the original box at this point since I was assured everything would be rectified by Whalen, the box has been thrown out. Hope everyone has better luck than I did, you all have been warned!

After looking at many units I found this to be the best looking and most stable/strongest. Go see one in person you won't be disappointed. So I went to get one and the store was sold out. Sales guy checked other stores and said none had any. I wanted the sale price so i ordered online and that said a local store had some. Ordered and waited within 30 minutes my order was confirmed and I drove to that store -so much for sales folks looking up stuff -do your own lookup. Box is heavy. Unpacked that night and unit is well made and solid. Overall manual is adequate BUT: The screws to connect the two vertical posts together (if mounting it this way) did not go together right at all. No matter what I tried only one would go in correctly. Something is made wrong here. I even tried using one of the longer bolts. Be wary of this connection! I found the rear shelf was missing the feet that are supposed to be pre-installed. NOTE!!!!! Without those feet the entire unit is critically off balance! Without them the only rear contact with the floor is the center post. I substituted spare rubber feet and then began the ordeal of trying to get replacements. Since it is not a user installed part you can't get that part. So I have them sending me the entire rear shelf. Dumb on their part. At least the support people were easy to deal with. It's a good unit -just watch the center post and the rear feet issue. It's way to heavy to trek back to the store.

I love, love, love this console! It looks great with my TV (65 inch Samsung) and it goes really well with my console. This would have been a 5 star review but I deducted a star because of the instructions. Overall construction of the unit is pretty easy. Anything that needs assembling at our house I do it. From electronics to furniture I'm the go to. My husband and I use to assemble things together but he would get crabby if we had to so I fired him and went solo. So I know how to follow the directions, they're just a tad confusing at times. I just feel the directions could have been a bit more clear. Just make sure you read all the way through before you start to put anything together. It will definitely cut down on the time you spend putting it together. I also feel like they should have labeled the bolts that you have to use for the TV mounting brackets. Other than that I do not regret my purchase.

I purchased this stand because i had currently owned a Whalen stand and of how much i liked the brand of a stand ,, that said the old stand was too small for my tv not to mention that one was 7 or 8 yrs old so i bought this one to put my LG 55" on and im soooo happy with it very nice upgrade.. The stand went together with such ease and the quality is just robust im happy i decided to buy this one .. The pedestal is built very heavy duty and has nice cable management so this has lots of options on that or you can set the tv on the stand without the pedestal The glass is very nice no chips or scratches the frame is so dialed in so everything lines up and fits so perfectly so someone took there time designing his stand .. Now on to the quality and customer service was excellent i had one part to be replaced on the stand so i emailed them and they sent the part out fedex QUICKLY so i figure about a week and a half from the time i emailed them to getting the part so thats quick service in my book .. Whalen stands behind there product so feel confident in this purchase..

Just purchased this through Best Buy and I've encountered four issues so far, two of which rank as showstoppers. The first problem is that four of the holes involved in attaching the top shelf frame to the top of the leg assemblies don't line up. So I can't complete the instructions on page 7 of the assembly instructions. You can almost live with this because of the way the frame rests on the leg assemblies, but it means less overall rigidity in the console, and reduces confidence if you want to place your TV on the directly on table. The second big problem is that the swivel mount I received doesn't swivel. I tried loosening the nut and bolt assembly in hinge of the the swivel, but it didn't budge. Third, there was cosmetic damage on the rear of one of the legs. Fourth, I only have time to set this up on the weekends or after work, when their assistance line is closed. Haven't opened the glass yet. It seems like it would have been a great value without these troubles. Presumably it doesn't happen to everyone.

I wish I could have given this product 5 stars. It’s well built, handsome, and looks nice in my living room. The only problem is that it DOESNT HOLD THE TV LEVEL. When I applied the bracket onto the back, I checked with a level to see if it stayed true. Although the rear spine is level up and down, the actual swiveling bracket must have been hastily manufactured, because it is so far skewed that the bubble on a level sits completely on one side. I’m contacting the company and hopefully they’ll send out a new swivel peice, in which case I’d love to change the review. In this case, however, I am stuck with an expensive, very good looking peice of furniture that does not achieve its only function.

Product came with a few defects but it holds. The screws strip easily. I had to use a lock wrench to remove a screw that was connected to the bar for suspending the TV in the air. One of the wood/metal side pieces was bent just enough that I had to bend the frame with a wrench to align the screw and hole that merge the horizontal piece that holds the glass with the vertical wood/metal piece. There are 4 wood screws that bond the horizontal metal piece that holds glass and ultimately the TV with the wood/metal side piece. Because the frame was bent the predrilled guide hole for one of the wood screws wasn't aligned properly. I had to drill in somewhere else to merge the frames. There is also a warning sticker attached to the top glass. It's used as a guide to attach a plastic marker that acts as a warning to not place anything in front for risk of tipping over the stand. The marker was not centered and I realized my mistake too late. Ultimately 3 screws were messed up assembling the stand. I probably should of exchanged it but everything else about it is fine. Not bad for its price.
