I have had it about 3 weeks & so far I am pleased.

I bought this new Trash Compactor to replace one from the 70's. It works great but I noticed that it is not as well made as the one from the 70's. But nothing really is anymore.

I am pleased with this unit. It replaced a similar Whirlpool model I had for 30 years.

Beautiful and well built. Best purchase ever. This is an excellent, well built product that looks wonderful in my kitchen!

Don’t buy this doesn’t work, the touchscreen brakes easily.

Very attractive, nicely designed unit, but, unlike the 20-year-old Kenmore it replaced, lacks a hold-compression feature that keeps the piston in the down position for extra compaction. Only compacts 1/3 of the way down the trash container, so not as much space as one would like to add new material.

we bought this May and did not deliver until July and 1 appointment change. We bought the same as before to fit. The quality has decreased and the price over doubled!!

We bought this compactor approx. 6 years ago & it's been nothing but problems. After a few years the drive gear broke rendering the compactor useless. Upon examination the gear was cheap plastic! Once repaired, the cheap plastic handle broke off! At the price of handle replacement (over $100!) we opted to use the foot petal instead to open the unit. Several mos. ago the compactor broke down again; making a horrid grinding noise. I cannot for the life of me understand how Whirlpool can sell such an inferior product -- and charge over a thousand dollars for it!

Worked great until it died suddenly after 3 years. That's over $400 a year for our ownership.

I cannot review this item because I purchased it on January 20, we still have not received it. The experience has been awful. Someone keeps calling here, whom we can't understand because you obviously outsource your customer service to another country, continually telling us it will be more delayed. They will not speak to me because they say the account is in my husband's name. He already gave approval 2x to speak to me. The delivery day has hours of 7 am-7 pm that we are supposed to stay home and wait. We had to pay for the product though we don't have it. I have never had such bad service from Best Buy.

We started having problems with the ram not stopping on the way up. (Less than a year old) We had to take the button out and cant use the compact feature. We called for service since it was so new. They sent someone who didnt know how to work on a compactor. This is not worth the money!
