I ordered a brand new Whirlpool Microwave online from Best Buy. I just received it today and it is dirty. I was sent a used microwave. There were crumbs in the inside and some stuff splattered on the ceiling of it. The glass turntable was even dirty. There is no owners manual or any paperwork. I called Best Buy and they are sending a new one out. I should receive in a couple days. I hope the next one is better.

WHIRLPOOL FINALLY MADE A BETTER MICROWAVE. THIS MODEL WAS OUR THIRD WHIRLPOOL IN ABOUT 10 TO 12 YEARS. THIS IS THE BEST PERFORMING AND THE QUIETEST MICROWAVE WE'VE OWNED OF THE LAST THREE PURCHASED. I ONLY HOPE IT WILL MAKE IT SEVERAL MORE YEARS. WE ALSO LIKE IT'S NEW SIZE AND NEW BEAUTIFUL STAINLESS STEEL LOOK... THANKS WHIRLPOOL...

We recently purchased Whirlpool 1.6 cubic ft microwave oven from BestBuy. We replaced our old Sharp microwave with a new oven. We have been using for three weeks and we love this product. We ordered on-line at BestBuy.Com, received the product on-time and picked up from the store. The unboxing, set-up and installation went smooth and within 15 minutes, we were able to remove the old microwave oven and replace with the new one. The interior is very white and clean with brighter lighting. It has three programmable settings along with preset buttons for popcorn, pizza, beverages, soup, potato, frozen vegetables, etc. We like the sensor cooking feature and the oven is very quiet and reheats our food evenly and faster. We are very satisfied with this product and love the finish. We recommend strongly to buy this product.

Replace Kitchen Aid with Wirlpool microwave oven

Our Kitchen Aid (KA) microwave oven ceased working. We purchased all our kitchen appliances from Best Buy in early 1918. After discussions with repairmen and friends concerning our microwave, it was clear that the cost effective way was to replace it. The 2024 KA replacement cost was ~$950 where as the nearly identical Whirlpool (WP )Model was ~$380. We talked with an excellent salesperson at BestBuy who assure us it would fit in the spot occupied by the KA. In addition, the BestBuy person was sure that we would not have to purchase any additional hardware for installation and the 'trim kit' would work fine with the WP microwave. I installed the WP - no problem and fit in the space and in the KA frame. The BestBuy agent was absolutely correct as he check the numbers. The front panel is almost the same as the KA. The new WP has worked for a month - no issues. Thanks, BEST BUY and a knowledgeable Sales Person. Glad I DID NOT HIRE a repairman!

The microwave is easy to use. It just fits on the built in shelf we hAve in the kitchen. The only problem is that we cannot remove the protective film over the keypad. There was a yellow sticker that says to remove it, but we can't figure out how. We can't even remove the entire yellow sticker, do that is unattractive.

We bought this to replace a "built-in" KitchenAid. It's the exact same size, and specs, so fit the hole and faceplates without further modifications. This is a basic mediocre microwave. The UI is old and archaic, based on a 10+yo model. It works well, but has annoying quirks like a completion beep that won't stop when you open the door. The microwave does heat food well and fast, but the hum is quite loud.

The Good: Gets very hot very quickly; not very noisy. The not so good: There's apparently no sensing mechanism as to when something's done; there's no simple re-heat option; instead, the user must pre-pick a specific number of minutes. The plastic shield on top of the instrument panel begins to stretch and warp in the first few days. Finally, the user manual leaves a lot to be desired.

We bought this one because it fit in the cabinet. It gave good service for several years but started to develop rust at the inside left rear corner. Now the paint is showing signs of heat damage. Guess we'll have to replace it before it starts a fire.

    Good Microwave for the Price

Positives: Reasonably priced microwave, does the job and is very quiet while operating. Negatives: nothing major. Would like to see a larger numerical keypad and start button. Hard plastic feet allow the unit to slide on the countertop when pushing the door release button (I put self-sticking rubber pads on the feet to prevent this). End of cycle alarm is annoyingly loud. In spite of the negatives, I would still recommend this unit.

We love this microwave. We replaced a previous micro with sensor that was a bit larger but older with a newer and smaller non sensor micro that basically ended up being thrown out for not working properly. We are putting this unit into a confined previously wall oven space that works great even with restricted air space (1-2" all sides). Love the single button options also. Would highly recommend Whirlpool and sensor microwave to other users!

Our builder grade microwave went out so I purchased this as a replacement. It’s identical in size but they changed the digital display color from blue to white. Now my appliances are slightly miss matched. That I can live with but the door latch is a bit rough to open.

This was a purchase to replace an existing microwave. I gave it a 4 star because I am unable to purchase the trim with this item. The microwave works great and fits in the space for the prior microwave. The settings are easy to use, the micro is big enough for a plate to fit in the microwave

Works well but quality issues with support ring

The microwave works well and would have given it a higher rating if it didn't have a quality issue. When I removed my microwave from its box I noticed that the support ring for the plate was broken. I complained to Whirlpool and they sent me a replacement part. Now after one month the replacement ring has broken again.

Works fine, but takes longer to heat up food and water than our 20 year old 1100 Watt microwave. Seems like This higher wattage (1200W) microwave would heat food faster. Otherwise seems ergonomically well designed and looks nice.

Purchased this microwave as replacement for our 7 year old one that finally gave out. We wanted a full size model with at least 1000 watts but that would fit in the cabinet opening. This Whirlpool was perfect! The stainless and black trim exterior look great. Is powerful & cooks faster than one replaced with same wattage. Only disappointment was old microwave didn’t qualify for Best Buy recycle program - had to pay local dealer $25 to recycle - kind of a bummer since we paid over $250 for the new one
