I couldn't test it out, because your people couldn't install it, then when I went to undo the package (I'm recovering from major SURGERY) it was revealed there was cosmetic damage to the exterior of the microwave. Found out that UPS delivered the package so a damage report has been sent to them sand Best Buy has been informed. Still in the middle of this mess.

I was worried about installing this microwave, mainly because I had never done an overhead install before. We were replacing an old unit and I was happy to find that the install was relatively easy. Make sure you have help, it definitely can't be done alone. The display is dimmer than some units but over the past year we've grown accustomed to it. However, we did have an odd situation recently where the display stopped functioning. After about an hour it started working again. Hopefully, this doesn't happen again. The "finished" sound is different than other microwaves I've used but OK. Cooking has been very good. In particular the sense mode for potatoes is mostly accurate (larger potatoes usually require an additional minute or so for my taste). Prepared food cooks well, but as with most microwaves you have to do a little stirring to get even warmth. The compartment is quite large and we can cook just about anything without worrying about it fitting. The middle rack is pointless and we never use it. It just gets in the way. One bad thing is the stove light. It isn't very bright and didn't last long. I replaced it with an led bulb which didn't help (led = light em dim). While cooking, this microwave is louder than our previous one. It can be a bit annoying hearing it from another room. We've had this for over a year now and my overall impression is quite positive. There are some quirks, but it has mostly functioned great. Compared to others I have used I find this one to be a top-tier unit.

It's roomy but kind of loud.

Haven't had to heat up anything huge yet, but so far I like it. It shows great, and messes inside wipe off easily, especially with dried on muck. The handle does get messy easily, but it is an upgraded feel to have a stainless steal handle over the plastic handle on our old one. The only downside so far is the venting and loudness of the fan. We cook on the stove often, and even though the CFM is good, I feel our 12yo clogged up Kenmore did a better job at odor removal. What's surprising about the clock/display is its only viewable directly in front for some reason. I like that at night so it doesn't light up the kitchen but to check the time if you're far to the right or left you'd be better off looking at a wrist watch. The attached photo shows the top of the unit is also vented. Heat and smoke/steam that's not captured from below may have an opportunity to be vented from above. Not sure how to clean it from there yet, but I'm sure there'll be a YouTube for that soon. The interior is grey and has a nonstick pan feel. It seems to be matted but i prefer it over the smooth white old style. The buttons are simple, and has a 30 second increment 'instant on' button but does not have a timer decrease button that I've noticed. As pictured the underside smoke filter detaches and cleans easily enough. The light is of good brightness, but I plan on upgrading that to LED, if possible, just to make it intensely shine. Overall, the price was right on sale for $199. This model seemed to be the same exact as the $299 model but without the facelift.

    Great but for the clock

So far this microwave has been great. It fit exactly into the space where the 2009 whirlpool 1.7 cu ft microwave was. The handle, unlike that one, is all stainless steel. It heats well. You can turn the sounds completely off, even the final beep (though that means the timer won't beep either.) You can set the timer and still heat food without stopping the timer. It loses one star for the clock. You can only see the time when you are standing directly in front of the oven. Move to the side at all and it looks like it's off. I wouldn't have thought that would be a big deal to me, but now we don't have a clock in the kitchen and I miss it. Guess I'll have to buy separately.

I owned a whirlpool microwave for nine years before it stopped working. I researched several different brands and seriously considered purchasing an LG microwave, but after watching a video about replacing and installing a new microwave I reconsidered. The video said if we get the same brand we might luck out and have the same mounting as the old one. We narrowed our research to only include whirlpool brands and found the best price for the size and style at Best Buy. We were able to use the same mounting screws, and installed it in 15 minutes. We also saved $100.00 by installing it ourselves. We are very pleased with our purchase. It cooks evenly and has several setting to select just what we need.

I was lucky enough to get this microwave on sale, and I bought it because it was on sale. It has most all the functions a fully loaded microwave has, and since my kitchen is a "Whirlpool" kitchen, it matched up my appliances nicely. Just beware of the hinges. They are designed for the unit to stick out and away from the cabinets. If you plan to have this unit flush with your cabinets, then it won't work.

Even though it was slightly dmanged from shipping it still operated as intended. Install was fairly simple even in the remodeled kitchen in a house we just bought. Controls are straight forward. The stove light could be a little brighter but the fan is nice and powerful and moves quite a bit of air to keep from smoking out. My wife is a happy woman so I definitely am a happy man.

Like other reviews, I like everything about this microwave, except the blue display (you cannot read it unless you are directly in front of it). The fan does not seem to really pull the steam from boiling water on the stove. I get a lot of condensation on the door when using the front burners. So i can only give this 4 stars.

We have only had it for a couple of weeks, but I love it. It is my fist experience with an over the range microwave, and I'm really enjoying it. The vent it's a little noisy, but I feel that expected for a vent. My only real complaint so far is the placement of the range light underneath. It is at the back of the microwave so it doesn't light the range very efficiently. I love the sensor cooking technology, the buttons are easy to use and understand, and it does not have the annoying quick start buttons. I feel the cooking options are easily understood and all seem practical for everyday cooking. It is very spacious, and the cooking rack is a handy option. The finished cooking beep is a good volume, stops when you open the door, and will keep doing reminder beeps until you open the door. This is a great feature in my opinion. No more forgetting food in the microwave or listening to annoying/loud/unnecessary beeping.

Full disclosure: (I purchased this microwave on sale, less than $200). The install on this microwave is a bit of a pain because of the metal bracket that must be secured to rear wall first before you attach two screws through the upper cabinet; opposed to some microwaves that are supported only by screws in the upper cabinet. The Microwave is rather quiet and has a, dare I say, pleasant chime when the timer goes off. I like the stainless look and the curve on the handle. As for the functionality: It works. There is "sensor cooking" built in and I have tried to use it once when reheating a steak, but it took much longer (around 6 minutes) and it was still going. I eventually just opened the microwave and the steak was reheated and gone from medium to medium-well, but was not bad. Perhaps after I read the manual and adjust some settings this could be a 5-star microwave.

We thought we ordered a white microwave but got a chrome/black one. Customer service got us a discount for the wrong color and we took it home. The chrome/black ended up looking nice with the white fridge beside it. They matched the Lowes price and we got bonus points to use.

This microwave is very big and sleek. I love the stainless steel look on the inside, and it's easier to keep clean. It's easy to use and has quiet a few options. The only thing I wish it had was the automatic power buttons on the numbers 1-6.

Recently purchased this after our old microwave died. Really easy to install except that the instructions didn't include removing the punch outs in the damper adapter plate. Works really well and is very quiet. I wish it had a moisture sensor.

This microwave was purchased as a replacement for the one we had that died. I would not have purchased it at full price but since it was on clearance for less than half price it was the best deal I could find. It does everything well, although the auto sense stuff seems to be off when it comes to potatoes. The thing it is missing is a quick start feature, as in, if you want to cook something for three minutes just hit the 3 (generally for 1 to 6 minutes). Instead you need to type in 300. Even the cheapest microwave I've had was faster to set for such things.

The black and metal on this one matched my current appliances and I believe that it would match many others as well. Everything was in the box and by following the instructions we got the microwave installed on the first try. The install took us over an hour, by my wife and I tend to discuss all steps to ensure we make the best choices. The funniest part is when she dropped a screw piece behind the wall when she didn't understand how it worked. The microwave works fine and does everything we like it to. We have likely only touched a.part of all the things it can do.

I purchased to replace a broken whirlpool microwave but wanted to match the other remaining appliances which were also whirlpool. Microwave works as expected but it doesn't have quick start time cooking other than the 30 second button. The old one you pressed a number and it would apply that many minutes and start. The end chime is cheesy and prefer simple beeps. The numbers are blue which I didn't realize beforehand and don't match the others now. Overall, I'm happy with microwave and was easy to install. Best of all was Best Buy service. Item was on sale and received it in 2 days with free shipping. Shortly after purchase it went on sale even more and a short simple phone call Best Buy refunded me the difference immediately.

This microwave works great. The price is good as well. The reason for four stars instead of five is the installation. I would recommend having them install because it can be difficult to install on your own. However, if you're handy, it wouldn't be as big of an issue. Just be sure you have someone there to help take the old one down and put the new one up when it's time.

I purchased this Whirlpool microwave to replace an old unit. Looks great. I've only had it for about six weeks. So far it works well. I don't do extensive cooking in the microwave, mostly cook vegetables, warm up soup and leftovers. The interior has a coating which makes it easy to clean. As some other reviews stated, you have to be directly in front of the unit to read the clock. Overall I really like the unit.
