Just please find another microwave. They wouldn’t replace it when it started sparking because of the wire rack. The handle as well as the bottom of the microwave get INCREDIBLY hot when cooking on the stove. Also, when we have power surges(because of weather or just because heck we live in Texas) the digital screen ALWAYS goes out & doesn’t come back on until we unplug then replug. I’m giving it 2 stars simply because it heats whatever needs to be heated.

I wouldn't recommend buying whirlpool products. My dishwasher was replaced 3 times, refrigerator was also replaced 3 times. Now, microwave needs to be replaced and whirlpool pool or best buy cares to help. The LCD stop working.

Our old GE over-the-range microwave bit the dust after only 6 years. Decided to go with Whirlpool based on good experience with their appliances in the past. Wow, this product blows away our old microwave. The 2.1 cu inches is HUGE. I could probably fit an entire turkey in this thing. It has a lot of features which I am still trying to learn. Price was good too, it was on sale. The stainless steel model looks very sharp in our kitchen. I would highly recommend this model over any other smaller models, they are pretty close to the same measurements so why not.

Replaced a very old whirlpool microwave. It definately lasted through the years. This new one is nice. The coating on the inside is much easier to clean. This one has a light inside which I like. It is 1000 watts instead of 1100 so I definitely notice a little difference there regarding cooking times. I miss the easy function of pressing 1 thru 5 for the quick press times. Door is finger print resistant, but is a bit louder when shutting the door. The sound of the microwave itself is quiet when running.. I haven't had this one long, but so far, it works great.

Clean look, stainless steel fits right in with other appliances. The interior seems easy to keep clean. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. Not fond of the blue led info screen, It’s a bit hard to read, especially the clock from a distance.

Since moving to our current home, we have had a succession of Microwave ovens. Though they've been different brands, they've all seemed to fail after a while. This is our fourth one, and by far the best. Though reasonably priced, it has good functionality and reliability. We've had it for a while now, and it's still going strong. By far, its best feature is the interior, which somehow manages to burn off most spatters. It just never looks dirty inside, no matter how infrequently it is cleaned. The turntable dish is a good size to pop in the dishwasher. My only quibble is with a couple of exterior design choices: --In low light (like early in the morning when I don't wish to disturb others by turning on all the lights, or if I forget my reading glasses when I go to the kitchen), it's difficult to make out the characters on the control panel, which can be hard to distinguish. Would love to see the designers give more consideration to Universal Design principals and make these a bit easier for older users to read in sub-optimal conditions. --On the other hand, the Whirlpool logo seems overly large; a more understated approach to branding would be appreciated.

Bought this unit and feel like it is a good compromise regarding size, price and performance. However, before installing it, I read through the manual and noticed that they recommended replacing a carbon filter every 6 months. So I thought to myself, lets see if this filter change would be difficult to accomplish once the beast is mounted. So with the aid of a convenient countertop and full easy access to the filter location area, I discovered that no, it would be impossible to change the filter without removing the entire cover. It seems that when they made the sliding part to give access to the filter, they made it too large to be removed. Now it should be noted that that filter is probably not as much an issue for those venting outside of the home, but for those recirculating air through the filter, it will be a more pressing issue. We returned the unit and purchased the next more expensive unit in the line, which also happened to be a Consumer Reports best unit pick and have been very happy so far. More features, quieter operation and a functioning filter change mechanism made the more expensive unit worthwhile.
