    this is the second one I have had- the first was hit by lightning. This one is much more quiet and has a few more features. There is one feature it does not have-the ability to completely turn the clock light off. Even on the dimmest setting, it still emits substantial light into the kitchen area, which can be seen from my bedroom at night

    Owned for a few weeks. A bit slower to heat compared to my previous Kenmore. But seems to heat more evenly. I haven't tried all settings yet. Sleek esthetically. Matches the rest of my stainless steel appliances (different brands)

    OK but with one concern

    I have had this microwave for 3 months. It replaced an almost identical unit that was only 18 months old and died. The PROS are the features, fast coking times, control options, and appearance. The CON is the big size causes more overhang of the stove below and steam from cooking condenses on (and in) the microwave. I believe this contributed to the short life of the first one. Now I keep the exhaust fan running whenever cooking on the stove below causes steam. This reduces the effect , but does not eliminate it. Also, the fan is very LOUD at every speed. Hope this one lasts more than 18 months. I'm used to getting 4 or 5 years from a microwave.

    Difficult installation but worth it at the end.

    Works and looks great once installed. Installation is difficult, it’s almost impossible to get the two screws that hold it against the cabinet to work. There seems to be a defect in manufacturing, anyways after three tries it worked.

    Purchase Extended Warranty & get GE brand

    I hate to leave bad reviews and I don’t know if we got a lemon but we bought this Whirlpool microwave in 2019 and replaced magnetron in 2021 ($300) and it stopped heating again in 2023. The worst appliance we’ve bought in 35 years. BUT… Our recommendation is to buy a GE! We absolutely love BestBuy and still recommend you get all your appliances here and definitely buy the extended warranty. It’s worth it for sure!!

    just had this installed today - installers were great. The Microwave is attractive but I found the interior light VERY dim and disappointing.

    I purchased this microwave Nov 18 2018, less than 2 years ago. within 2 months, the sound sensor started going in and out and did so for about a year and then stopped working. Tried to have it fixed but when it was serviced, it would of course work and "nothing was wrong". until the warranty ran out and it fully stopped. So it's annoying that you can't use the timer for a reminder and you have to pay attention when using it since you don't get notified. Today the F1E4 code started and of course troubleshooting did not work, so I need a new circuit board and service repair. Needless to say, not pleased with this microwave.

    Recall this Whirlpool. Door issue

    I have read so many reviews of customers having the same issue. When you close the door, the microwave does not recognize that it is closed. So it prompts you to close the door then press start. Apparently you have to get a repair person come out and fix a sensor. Seems like Whirlpool would own up to their mistake with this product and cover this issue even after the 12 month warranty expires. I will never buy Whirlpool and will tell friends and family to stay away from them.

    Happy with my choice!

    Easy to install. Intuitive controls. Powerful and fast. The only drawback is that I do not believe there is a "pause" button. To pause the cooking, you have to open the door without pressing stop, which I have read will shorten the life of the microwave.

    Saftey Hazard

    I ordered online and picked up in store. Everything on BesyBuy's end went great. I got the unit installed, plugged in no problem. I noticed a small gap on the right side of the unit and went to tighten the screw and the second my screwdriver hit the screw I got such an electric shock I got knocked off the ladder. Turns out there was a hot wire loose inside the unit which was pinched between the top screw bracket and the microwave chassis. I returned the microwave to BestBuy and they gave me no issues. I called Whirlpool and after 40 minutes on hold got in touch with their safety department. The representative told me she was not sure this was a safety issue. Apparently it must be normal to get electrocuted while installing their products. No apology, no assistance getting a replacement unit, nothing. In fact the blame was put back on me because she indicated this was an installation issue and not a safety issue. I am sorry, but there is a loose HOT wire touching the metal bracket used to hang the unit. Please see the attached picture of the loose bracket with the hot wire on top. Almost 24 hours later and I still have limited use of my right hand. Looks like I will have to call their legal department to get any further.

    First microwave died in 3.6 years. Replace with same model because it fit . Second microwave died in 3.5 years. TOTAL JUNK

    RECALL this Whirlpool- Door issue twice in a year

    We had this DOOR ISSUE TWICE in a YEAR: Microwave displayed error message insert food after placing food in microwave and closing the door. It also displayed the message close door when door was closed. The microwave will not heat food due to these error messages. Estimated repair by a local repair service is $210.65. This reoccurring issue is unacceptable for a new appliance.

    Bad...2 years and problems

    so it work great for 2 years and then Malfunction...OPEN/CLOSE DOOR comes on and will not go away..can not use...called Whirlpool and its $85 to come out then pay parts and labor (labor $70 hr) so minimum $150 ...throwing it away and buying anything but WP...P.S. Only use it a couple times a week..

    SCAMMED!!!

    Purchased this microwave open box, good condition, when in fact it was fair condition as it had significant cosmetic damage and was missing essential parts. No mounting bracket, no rack, no instructions and a broken bulb. tried to call the store and was redirected to South America! OfCourse they were unable to help me. you cannot trust this company! won't be shopping there again!

    It heats food fine. But it is not reliable. Our first, builder-installed one broke after three years' use. Our second one (same model) broke after two years' use. They broke from separate problems. We bought a third one of this model only because we have the mounting bracket installed for it. We need a fast fix and are betting that we won't get three bad units of this model in a row. Wish me luck.
