Whirlpool - 20.5 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator review 10/31/2022
The Refrigerator was delivered right on time by Geek Squad Men, unloading went very well packaging removed there was no sign of any damage.
Old refrigerator was removed from home and new Refrigerator brought in Geek Squad Men were very careful with doorway clearances as to not cause any damages.
Geek Squad Men installed all door handle’s also all small items as covers and fittings, both doors fit correctly and seals sealed tightly also both doors opened and closed correctly with no binding all food bins fit correctly and opened correctly.
Refrigerator was plugged in and compressor started Geek Squad Men set Temperature Per. Manual recommended setting and this turned out to work well.
After around 15 hours freezer was at –7F main storage 37F refrigerator operation was very quiet with no vibration.
The only item I feel would make it better is if they would put a light in the freeze as my old refrigerator had.
This Whirlpool refrigerator is perfect for my needs and the Geek Squad Men did a great job getting it setup.

Our Kenmore refrigerator died during the power surges that accompanied Hurricane Beryl’s outages. (Thank you, CenterPoint Energy!) So, we were desperate to buy a new refrigerator asap and did not have six weeks (yes, six weeks) to wait to receive the one we truly wanted.
Whirlpool is well-rated by Consumer Reports, a resource I have trusted for many years, so it was a buyable option. It was not our first choice, but our first choice meant a six-week wait. We purchased ours without an ice maker because we rarely use ice. We have no problem with making ice with the modern silicone molds when we need it. Plus, the freezer without the automatic ice maker has a lot more space for the things we want to keep frozen.
My better half especially likes the layout of the drawers in the fridge and the shelves on the door. I like that the crisper and meat drawers are more in the middle and not at the very bottom the way our previous unit were. The bottom door shelf can manage a full half gallon of milk standing up – another feature that I like and that we have not had before.
The fit and finish of the inside is excellent. Everything appears to be top quality. The exterior is the fingerprint resistant type. It is not great but it is certainly functional.
The temperature controls are easy to read and to use – a big plus. My wife had difficulty with the controls on our previous fridge.
Our big unpleasant surprise was to learn that there was no light in freezer section of this model. It never occurred to us that any company would manufacture a refrigerator/freezer without a light in the freezer section. It would be like selling a vehicle without a cabin light. This is a serious strike against this model in my opinion.
Other than that one issue, however, we believe that this model will serve us well and faithfully for years to come.

The Whirlpool Refrigerator/Freezer is wider than our older one. Just don't like how the door doesn't close itself. The door swings open when you open it and always hits our stove. Unless I catch it in time. Otherwise, we are happy with our purchase. It was dented on one side, but Best Buy gave us $160 off the price, so we let it go.

I was a little hesitant buying this refigerator because of the low price and a few negative reviews but this turned out to be an excellent refrigerator for the price and I could not be happier with it. It is very roomy, holds many large drink and milk bottles, works beautifully, and is surprisingly quiet. (Some reviews had complained of noise level but I hardly notice that it is running.) I did not touch factory setting of temperature control and it seems to be just perfect. Ice freezes quickly in the freezer compartment (I purposely ordered without ice maker because have not liked ones I have had in the past}. Refrigerator compartment stays very cold without any condensation or iceing. The one thing I can think of that would have been nice is slide out shelves. It is not that hard to get to everything though and not having slide out framework on shelves means you actually have more shelf space. I believe this refrigerator holds more than my old 25 cubic foot Kenmore side-by-side. Delivery went without a hitch and was on-time. Crew was very careful removing old refrigerator and bringing in new one and setting in place.

This is a bare bones/no frills refrigerator with the freezer on top. Don't ask "does it have a _____?" where the blank contains some feature. It doesn't. Period. It keeps the cold stuff cold and the frozen stuff frozen. I miss my freezer light from the old fridge that lasted 22 years. I can't complain.
The freezer is a rectangular box with a non-adjustable oven rack 2/3 from the inside top ... and that's it. There is no other infrastructure in there. As a result, my 4 pound bag of frozen fruit has room to stand up along with the other frozens that I buy. My 3 pack packets of poultry fit nicely below the rack with other height challenged items. There is actually more room in this freezer than with the old because of the lack of shelf/rack instrastructure. The door has 2 non-adjustable shelves each with a rail so food is not trapped on a shelf and can fall through if really small.
The refrigerator below has 3 adjustable full width shelves. Having said that, the shelves have built in restrictions where they can be positioned. There are "bumps" on the left wall and right wall inside the fridge similar to those inside the oven. Those bumps are 2 inches apart going from top to bottom. There are only about 6 places a shelf can be positioned. Since there is so much room between bump levels, shelf real estate gets invaded on the adjacent level below. As a result, I have had to get creative. Tall gallon bottles don't fit on the top shelf so there is a pitcher in the fridge now which does fit. The bottles lie down on shelf 3 above the dual crispers which I'll get to in a moment. Hanging from shelf 1 is a crisper about 1/3 of a shelf width. It can slide left and right. Shelf 2 is where I put all bags of fresh produce. Shelf 3 is where the bottles and pitchers that don't contain liquid lie down. Below shelf 3 are the dual crispers. They are made of a hard plastic and if I were a betting gal, I'd say that they will crack in X number of years. I doubt they would survive being dropped on the floor so I handle them with care.
The fridge door inside has 2 non-adjustable shelves. The first is up top for butter with the swing down cover to the left and a flip up ledge with a rail to the right. A lightweight something goes on the flip up ledge. At the bottom is a full door width shelf with a rail. In between the top shelf and the bottom shelf are 3 half width adjustable containers that can hold narrow stuff but not my pitchers as they are too thick. If something is too tall on the right, the flip up in shelf 1 provides room.
Magnets stick on all outer sides as I have over 100. Yes, the refrigerator is louder than the old one but it doesn't drown out anything in the house so not a big deal. I'm used to it now.
Repairguy said that he chases codes all day long so get something simple. This refrigerator fits the bill as there really is nothing to go wrong with it. Salesguy said most folks buy this refrigerator for rentals or vacation homes as they need something reliable that keeps cold stuff cold and frozen stuff frozen. Works for me.

We needed to replace our 1999-vintage high-end bottom-freezer Amana which was failing after being repaired once before. Very few refrigerators now available would even fit into the space we have, so we decided on this one which does fit. Best Buy had it available to deliver promptly, so we didn't lose all our frozen food -- including home-grown green chiles. The new unit is not by any means deluxe, just a basic refrigerator that stays cold and uses only about 600 WH/day. It does need the owner to add trays or other interior organizers because it is basically a large empty space. Reasonably quiet and undemanding. Overall we're satisfied.

I traded my new GE top freezer refrigerator because the refrigerator part was not getting cold enough. Best Buy was great about allowing me to return it. I picked out Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator. It is a bit larger than the GE i had. It is quiet and keeps everything nice And cold. And the Whirlpool was on sale, so i got money back.

I am very happy with this refrigerator. The freezer is big and has lots of room, and the fridge is nice; it keeps things cold; I needed to turn it down a notch. It tends to freeze my produce on the recommended setting; I'm okay with that.

I bought this after our 20nyear old fridge started going bad. It's bigger than the old one which was nice because we have 3 people living here.
Anyway, quick pros and cons
Pros.
1. Large fridge.
2. Decent shelving. You can fit gallons of milk in the door if you need to as well as the middle and top shelf.
3. Cheese drawer slides left and right. Neat.
4. LED lighting.
5. Large freezer.
Cons
1. The temperature control is kind of bad. We've had the fridge for a bit now and at full max cooling the freezer is at exactly 0F and the fridge is exactly 40F. That's not very promising. I would've considered that okay for the default setting (it's a little touch panel with 5 settings, 3 recommended), but at maximum?
I'm not entirely sure what to do about it. We don't have a space to put our food in order to do a refund, replacement, or an exchange. We intentionally bought a top freezer refrigerator because one would assume that they would've figured that out by now, given how old the design is.
I will likely reach out to best buy for an exchange on my purchase for something a little better, but I'm disappointed in Whirlpool. This is the same fridge design your great grandparents used. How did it manage to get worse?
Anyway, 2 stars from me. Nice looking fridge with good space, decent customization, and some fun little features. Minus 3 stars because my food might rot if it gets too warm in the kitchen. Fridges are a pain to replace and install.

Purchased 2cof these, 1 for my home & 1 for my boyfriend's home. Installed almost 5 months ago. Both seem to be working excellent so far. Nice & simple. Good design, practical. Keeps the food cold & the freezer keeps it frozen. Win win! Great for the lower cost.

New Refrigerator with top freezer is a replacement for a very old refrigerator. We realized we were purchasing a "vanilla" model but it is larger with more good details than what we had. The cooling is excellent. It is fairly quiet. So from our standpoint price versus quality we would say it was a very good purchase.

Refridgerator is a good medium size, cools well, however the freezer for sags almost touching handles with the lower handle right out of the box, I had a repair man in days after purchase, he said it's good enough, I feel it will rub in the future

I like this refrigerator a lot! It is very spacious inside. I love the simple, clean look. I gave it only four stars because the gasket doesn’t fit as I think it should and the door handle was broken when the refrigerator was delivered. Other than that, I like it a lot!

I love this frigerator. It has a lot of room and it works very good. I am very pleased I have it set on the recommended position both for the freezer and the refrigerator and my sodas are nice and cold. Everything is perfect

I bought this refrigerator 1 month ago because I needed one, and this was the biggest one that would fit in my home. I went back to the basics because I just had a french door bottom freezer unit die after just 7 years! This unit does cool and freezer very well, and has a nice self/door shelves that help to maximize space. I gave it a 4 because I did get the monochromatic stainless steel which is no where near being finger print resistant and it seems to scratch very easily, in fact it came with a small scratch on the top door that I did not notice until they finished installing the unit. I now have to keep a magnet over it. Any time that you wipe even a small area, it smears! You have to clean the entire unit so that it looks uniform. The first time that I cleaned the front of this refrigerator the Whirlpool sticker came off. It is stuck on very loosely. I believe that this is so that you can switch the opening of the door. If I had known that this monochromatic stainless steel was so smeary, I would not have bought this unit, and waited for it's Maytag counterpart! Do not buy this in monochromatic stainless steel!

A great roomy refrigerator for a standard family of four or five people. It works great and kind of quite compare to my old one of the same size. Make sure your doors have enough room to let the delivery guys bring it in. For the price i got it was not right
or pandemic was the reason of high price but search online ahead of time before you buy.

It is a perfect refrigerator for me and fits in my space that I had the old one in. I love it because it is much bigger, I should save money on my energy bill, and it is much quieter. Also, this company is one of three companies that are currently making their products in America. I should get replacement parts sooner than the foreigner products.
