Excellent Fridge Space, two FYI items
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the look and function of this product. The fridge has tons of space and for my tall husband he appreciates not having to duck or compromise space with a side by side. All that said, I have two small FYIs about this appliance: 1) The fruit and vegetable drawers each have a knob to adjust the humidity in the drawers. They are thin plastic pieces that stick out and are consistently getting stuck on the drawer unless you are very careful when you push it in. I'm unsure as to why you wouldn't just have a wheel instead since I can only assume this will break off in short order. A minor issue but a true design flaw for normal use. (Pic attached) 2) I wish the freezer drawer clicked or had an indicator light if it wasn't fully closed. Within the first week ours was left just the tiniest bit open over night and everything started to defrost. I feel like there should have been something in the design to help it close fully, consistently. We are more conscious of it now so we don't make that same mistake again and have had no problems since.

Good but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator is amazing, or I'm assuming it is. We originally ordered this fridge because it met the measurements our apartment complex gave us. Now, granted, I should've measured myself before just going on what they said the measurement was. The delivery men come, and tell us we are an inch off. 1 inch. So, we freak out and went to bestbuy and were able to get the brother to this Fridge (which was cheaper because it was on clearance and a bunch of other boring things...) The fridge we do have is the exact same as this, but black and a little smaller and it is fantastic! The freezer capacity is better than I believed it would be. Granted you can't put big pizza boxes in it, but that is fine. Just take it out of the box and if you must, cut out the heating directions and put it with the pizza or whatever it is that wouldn't fit. I can't speak for the ice maker, because our complex is older and does not have the hook-up for water. (Side-note: you must but the water line for Best Buy to deliver, install and take away the old one. If you are like me and don't have a water hook-up, you can always return the water line after it gets delivered. The Best Buy person told me that, and that is what I did.) The fridge is amazing. Being able to fit the milk jug on the door is fantastic. One of the main thing we wanted in a new fridge (apart from bottom freezer) were the solid shelves that have the lip surrounding the edge, "spill-proof", and this fridge has it, and it really does work. We had wire racks before, and not only would there be a pool of mess on the bottom shelve, the food in the fridge that was directly below what spilled, would also the a mess from the dripping. Such a nasty thing that has been solved now. The temperature controls are digital, but not by degree. They are digital numbers 1-7 with 7 being the coldest and LED lights inside which makes it so bright inside! BEWARE: You might be blinded when you go to the fridge for a 2 am drink because the lights are very bright. Also, in case you were wondering, the black version we have is a smooth finish on the front, no bumps. Although for full disclosure, the sides do have the bumpy texture. All in all: I believe we would have loved this fridge since we love the younger and smaller brother version. FYI: The fridge totally matches our new stove. Even though they were bought at different times. Bought the Silver Fridge and the stove at the same time, fridge was too big and we went and found the smaller fridge. Which matches the stove better in my opinion.

Great Performance, OK features
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prior to this we had an LG bottom freezer, stainless fridge that was loaded with features. Unfortunately, the LG failed twice in 8 years. My wife wanted a similar model an we came across this Whirlpool model. On-line reviews are very good for it so we gave it a shot. It was not available for viewing at our Best Buy, so this was a sight-unseen purchase. First the good - it's very efficient and relatively quiet. It works like it should and has more capacity than the LG we had. In fact, it's quite a bit larger internally than the LG despite similar exterior dimensions. The stainless finish is OK, but less fingerprint-resistant than some I've seen. Now the not-so-good - the ice maker only has the arm shutoff - the LG had a switch in addition that was a nice touch. The ice maker has no size adjustment so the cubes are what they are - you could make the LG cubes smaller or larger. The shelves and drawers are functional, but don't have the quality feel the LG's did. When you open the door and recluse it, the temperature of course inside drops again. The seal on the door is so good that my wife cannot physically open the door again until the inside temp stabilizes again due to the vacuum drawn on the door. All in all, this is a good fridge. At the price it should have a few more features and the feel of the drawer slides and shelves should be better. Ultimately I can live with that as long as it lasts. Now the really bad - the installers came and set up the fridge for us. Now you might say setup is setup. But here are my complaints; 1) they used a cordless drill to remove the door handle and hinges (needed to swap opening from left to right). Doing so really torques the screws and as a result distorted the sheet metal on the door where the fasteners were. They also broke off the plastic cover or vanity screws that cover the empty screw holes on the side without the handle. Installers should NEVER use power tools on things like exterior appliance hardware. I was out of the room at the time or would have stopped them. So I had to buy more at $20 for two tiny plastic screws. 2) they did not properly level the fridge, so the door would not close when released. So, pretty good fridge, poor installation and setup.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well designed and high quality refregirator. Energy efficient. Start working a bit noisy at the beginning then slowly goes quieter. Don't pay thousands for some other model that does the job.

Extra Space!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We actually bought two of these and flipped one of the doors to make what appears to be one extra large refrigerator. It has worked out wonderfully. Two critiques. The first I obviously knew before I purchased it but bought it anyway, is the lack of a water dispenser on the door. The second is that the interior drawers for the produce and deli meat etc. are very chincy. They are not on rollers so they don’t easily glide in and out. Other than that, they are fabulous.

Very nice, mid-range refrigerator.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator looks & works great. Ice production is terrific. I like the layout. It's not the most expensive model, and this shows in the refrigerator drawers which work just fine but feel a little cheap. I like how the bottom drawer of the freezer pulls out automatically while the top drawer stays in place. The freezer drawers are wire, which means that anything you drop through the holes is gone forever. I've only had the freezer a month, but still haven't figured out how to easily retrieve anything that falls.

Great small kitchen refrigerator.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. We’ve had it for about a month and no complaints. Not the most spacious freezer, but the top is very spacious. It runs quietly. Great for a small kitchen.

Whirlpool Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good. The spaces in the refrigerator and freezer compartments are very practical. It is too early to determine the cost to run this appliance. The one quibble is that it is slightly noisier than I would have expected. By the way, the delivery crew was terrific!

Big refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the refrigerator very much not so happy with the freezer, but this is the first time that I have had a freezer on the bottom so I’m sure it will just take some getting used to. It seems like you can’t see what all you have in the freezer But it is no fault of the freezer only mine The refrigerator is very large and I love the space in the doors would recommend. Is this refrigerator, but I would have preferred it in white, but the size that I purchased did not come in white, so I had to settle for stainless steel to get the size I wanted.

Replacement Frig
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed to replace a dieing refrigerator, wife wanted one with the freezer on the bottom. Something different this time. I think is is louder than the old frig, but he size is very nice in both sections. Not why we were told we had to buy the new water line, now we have 2 places for a leak to happen...

Nice frig, but there is a catch.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the Whirlpool 22.1 cu. in. bottom freezer frig is a pretty nice frig. We picked the black stainless finish which looks really nice. The adjustable shelving inside and in the door makes it very user friendly for taller items. The freezer is a decent size for a frig this size and the icemaker works really well. The frig runs quiet too, which is a must for us. Now the catch. Best Buy's website states in the specs that this model comes with a water filter and the owners manual shows the water filter. When I could not find a water filter I called Geek Squad. They could only tell me what I had just read in the owners manual, so they gave me a number to Whirlpool. Whirlpool said that only models with a water dispenser have water filters, so Best Buy's website was incorrect. After talking with a sales person at Best Buy, he said that the product description comes from the manufacturer, but he understood that I did not get what I thought I was buying, so he gave me $50 off the price of the frig so I could buy an in-line filter. That is just what I did. I found a nice GE filter at Lowes ( BB did not carry them, only frig filters) and installed it in the basement so it does not show or make a mess in the kitchen when I need to change the filter. Now our ice no longer has that nasty chlorine taste. Thanks to Best Buy for standing behind their products. The delivery guys were great, but they were fooled also, because they told us to run 3 full trays of ice before using to allow the filter to clear. We are now happy with our frig, but just beware if you have hard water or chlorinated city water, you may have to do a little extra work to install your own water filter.

4 Star Refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was disappointed with the cheap plastic drawers in the refrigerator. All 3 have cracked and one has an actual he in the bottom. Also, you have to do lay on the floor to reach the ice cubes that bounce out of the cube holder tray. I love the stainless steel--cleans easily. This is my first freezer on the bottom fridge and I really like that feature.

Right on
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is one month old. So to give it 5 stars takes away from future possible issue. Right now, this minute, its a 5! Great inside space, perfect fit, makes great ice cubes, love the door and how it holds everything. Crossing my firgers for a life span like my Sears Kenmore fridge! (15yrs)

Great fridge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 35 years, it was time to upgrade my old refrigerator which needed some repairs but would have been more costly than practical. I researched different options online and decided that Whirlpool seemed to be the best option for my needs. I was particularly looking for a bottom freezer since arthritis has taken it's toll and it was difficult to stand for long going through a top freezer. I went up a size having had a 20 cubic foot refrigerator and either had to go down to 18 or go up to 22 for what I wanted. Fortunately, I found this one at 21 cubic feet and it added just 2 extra inches which was fine for where I use it (it's free standing, not encased in cabinets). I love the size, and love the bottom freezer. It is so convenient to use. When I looked at some freezers they used solid trays but this one has basket type trays. I think I would prefer the solid trays because of the fact that it would be easier to clean, whereas things drop through the baskets and I think it will be more difficult to clean. I did line the baskets with freezer paper to help prevent some of this. That is the only thing I have a concern with. I love the LED lights, so much nicer and brighter, and love the controls in the front of the refrigerator, so much easier to control and adjust. All in all I am very pleased with the crispers with their own humidity controls also. I would highly recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

Excellent!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent quiet refrigerator. I am happy with the purchase. My refrigerator slot is right by my garage door and hence a double-door refrigerator would not have worked. This one worked out just perfect. Looks beautiful and elegant. There is ample space in the refrigerator section with an awesome bright LED light greeting you when you open the door. I gave it 4 stars just because the freezer section could have been designed a bit differently. Although the freezer section is big, the racks in freezer section do not make optimal use of the freezer space and leave unused space in the freezer. For example, you cannot stack stuff on top of another on the bottom rack since it will hit the above rack in the freezer. Therefore, the space in the freezer is a bit deceiving. Also, there is no way to get around it since you cannot remove those freezer racks. But other than the above, it is a beautiful refrigerator which I would recommend to anyone looking for a single door refrigerator.

Spacious fridge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the fridge because it is spacious and perfect size for a mid size family. The bottom freezer has two drawers and you can see exactly what you have in them unlike other models where narrow freezers make you plle food you end up forgetting. I didn't give it full 5 stars because it gets stained with fingerprints easily. I haven't found a product that keeps them clean longer.

Great but noisy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with the capacity of both the refrigerator and freezer. Very convenient with refrigerator on top. No bending over to see what's in the back of the shelves. It is noisier than what I wanted and motor runs more than I thought it would. I can hear it in the next room when watching TV. SS adds class to my kitchen. If you don't mind the noisy motor I'd recommend it.

A Good Choice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, this is a nice refrigerator. It fits well in our smallish space in the kitchen, and the bottom freezer (a new feature for us) is easy to use. All the shelving and drawers function perfectly, as does the ice maker. We have no complaints, although I'd still like to meet the person who got Americans convinced to go with stainless steel appliance finishes. :)
