We bought this refrigerator to replace a very similar GE refrigerator which died after 7 years. We liked the bottom freezer and heard good reviews about Whirlpool dependability so we decided to try this model. We have a small space for a refrigerator so our options were not great. I like that the freezer has ample room and is somewhat compartmentalized to help us arrange contents. It is quiet and the LED lighting is great. It does show fingerprints which our GE model did not do. If it lasts longer than 7 years we will be happy,

We love our new Whirlpool 21.9 cubic foot bottom freezer refrigerator. I has lots of room. It is quiet and looks great. This is my second Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator. Delivery was speedy. Didn't have to wait a long time to get it delivered. We love Best Buy for appliances.

Wonderful fridge with lots of room. Bottom freezer has a great icemaker and sliding tray. Only part i dont like is the vegetable/fruit bins dont slide in and out easily. I must bang them to get the drawer to fully go in. For about 2K i would have expected to get well sliding drawers.

Very pleased so far. Have had this Fridge for about 3 weeks. Plenty of room, no bending for the refrigerator, and loads of room for the freezer. I read reviews beforehand, and it seemed to be highly rated. Excellent delivery by Best Buy. It is also relatively quiet while in use, which is a plus. Just remember to leave the settings alone for 24 hrs after delivery. I put an inside thermometer inside, and the temps were right on target, between 35-40 degrees for refridge, and 0-10 for freezer. I did not have to adjust the temps. Mine is stainless.

Overall, the Whirlpool 22.1 cu. in. bottom freezer frig is a pretty nice frig. We picked the black stainless finish which looks really nice. The adjustable shelving inside and in the door makes it very user friendly for taller items. The freezer is a decent size for a frig this size and the icemaker works really well. The frig runs quiet too, which is a must for us. Now the catch. Best Buy's website states in the specs that this model comes with a water filter and the owners manual shows the water filter. When I could not find a water filter I called Geek Squad. They could only tell me what I had just read in the owners manual, so they gave me a number to Whirlpool. Whirlpool said that only models with a water dispenser have water filters, so Best Buy's website was incorrect. After talking with a sales person at Best Buy, he said that the product description comes from the manufacturer, but he understood that I did not get what I thought I was buying, so he gave me $50 off the price of the frig so I could buy an in-line filter. That is just what I did. I found a nice GE filter at Lowes ( BB did not carry them, only frig filters) and installed it in the basement so it does not show or make a mess in the kitchen when I need to change the filter. Now our ice no longer has that nasty chlorine taste. Thanks to Best Buy for standing behind their products. The delivery guys were great, but they were fooled also, because they told us to run 3 full trays of ice before using to allow the filter to clear. We are now happy with our frig, but just beware if you have hard water or chlorinated city water, you may have to do a little extra work to install your own water filter.

    I Love This Refrigerator

I love this refrigerator! There is so much usable space, compared to my old side-by-side of the same cubic feet. The door opens all the way around so it’s easy to put away groceries from whichever counter they’re on. I never thought I’d buy a bottom freezer, as I didn’t want to bend over to reach into it, but it’s not a problem. As for noise, there is a humming only when the compressor comes on. Now the ice maker is quite noisy when on, but it’s a working machine, making and dumping ice. Expect it, and turn it off at night and when you have enough ice. The ice bin in the freezer holds quite a lot, and you may not have to make ice that often. I don’t mind because I feel this is a quality appliance and am very pleased with it, so far.

After 35 years, it was time to upgrade my old refrigerator which needed some repairs but would have been more costly than practical. I researched different options online and decided that Whirlpool seemed to be the best option for my needs. I was particularly looking for a bottom freezer since arthritis has taken it's toll and it was difficult to stand for long going through a top freezer. I went up a size having had a 20 cubic foot refrigerator and either had to go down to 18 or go up to 22 for what I wanted. Fortunately, I found this one at 21 cubic feet and it added just 2 extra inches which was fine for where I use it (it's free standing, not encased in cabinets). I love the size, and love the bottom freezer. It is so convenient to use. When I looked at some freezers they used solid trays but this one has basket type trays. I think I would prefer the solid trays because of the fact that it would be easier to clean, whereas things drop through the baskets and I think it will be more difficult to clean. I did line the baskets with freezer paper to help prevent some of this. That is the only thing I have a concern with. I love the LED lights, so much nicer and brighter, and love the controls in the front of the refrigerator, so much easier to control and adjust. All in all I am very pleased with the crispers with their own humidity controls also. I would highly recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

I like this Whirlpool bottom freezer fridge overall, especially the amount of room up top and how easy it is to organize everything. I do wish I had picked a model with two upper doors instead of one large door, since that would make quick grab-and-go access a little easier. The other thing that bugs me is how the door swings all the way back if you let go of it, and I wish it had a built-in stopper to keep it from opening too far. Aside from those two things, it has been a good fridge with plenty of usable space.

So glad we found this counter sized refrigerator. It is much larger than the previous refrigerator we had in the same spot. Being 10 years newer we have the benefit of many new features. One of the best is the powerful light that makes it much easier to find anything. The freezer is larger than we thought and is very easy to access frozen foods. We love the ice maker inside the freezer. The refrigerator door seals very good and the food inside is ice cold. Could not be happier..

The last refrigerator I bought from BB was less than two years ago. It turned out to be a lemon. It quit cooling(the refrigerator part, not the freezer and, it was very noisy) a year and a half after I had it. The warranty was 1 year. It was a Samsung. It was much fancier and it cost a few hundred less than this one did on sale. This Whirlpool is not as fancy, but its like night and day difference in performance, in every way . Much quieter, twice as roomy, and it keeps everything super cold set two settings lower(toward the end I had to run the Samsung on it's highest setting just to keep things slightly cool) than the other one! Samsung needs to stick with cell phones and TV's. So if you're looking for a great refrigerator at a great price(if its still on sale), this whirlpool model(and they been making appliances, and ONLY appliances, forever) is rockin.

This refrigerator works well, is quiet and keeps my food cold. However, the design is flawed- the shelves on the door are very shallow and do not hold many items. This refrigerator replaced my small 18 cubic ft., freezer on top Maytag. Because of the design flaws, this one couldn't hold nearly as much food as my smaller one.

Very pleased with the capacity of both the refrigerator and freezer. Very convenient with refrigerator on top. No bending over to see what's in the back of the shelves. It is noisier than what I wanted and motor runs more than I thought it would. I can hear it in the next room when watching TV. SS adds class to my kitchen. If you don't mind the noisy motor I'd recommend it.

Not a bad unit, however the layout on my previous LG unit was better. Works great but almost impossible to adjust legs so door doesn't swing if you are not careful.

Love this fridge! The delivery people were fast and polite. They made sure the fridge and my house were not damaged in the process of delivery. The fridge itself is larger than I thought it would be. I buy our normal weekly groceries and it still looks empty. Which is great because we entertain a lot and always need extra room. I read the other comments about it freezing over or the lights not working and I had this happen only after the freezer drawer was not closed all the way over night. My suggestion is to make sure all the doors are closed when you're done grabbing whatever you need from it.

This refrigerator is one of the few that we found that would fit in the smaller cut-out spaces commonly found in older homes. It's spacious and looks good. The top fridge / bottom freezer is nice because it lets you see into the fridge easier. Very nice. Freezer space is a little limited.
