Was quiet and looked nice, I'll give it that. Didn't clean well and dishes still very wet. I don't want to have to dry everything, especially silverware and plastic ware. And everytime you pulled the bottom rack out it would fall off the tracks, it seemed kind of flimsy. For the money I was very dissapiointed in this dishwasher. It was a pain, but we returned it to the store.

Upper rack broke after 14 months (2 months after warranty expired). The little plastic rails that the rack rides on just busted off. It looks like I can buy the part for $40. Still frustrating. Also, like many washers these days, this one rarely gets all my dishes clean. I need to select “heavy” and “high temp wash” (which are not default options) on every load I do. Also, I need to selected “extended dry” on every load, or my dishes remain soaked. For being a trusted brand, this is not the dishwasher quality that I grew up with. Especially after paying $900, I expected much more.

I purchased what I believed to be a good Whirlpool dishwasher for $709.99 in December 2015 as part of a new home construction appliance package. I closed on the home in March of 2016. I did not purchase the extended warranty due to the unacceptable price. Also, it should not be needed on a good quality product. They also tend to be cash cows for the seller. We only have a family of two, and we do very little entertaining, so the dishwasher was not subjected to any kind of extraordinary wear and tear. After the 1-year warranty expired, the problems started. A failed pump assembly in March 2018 cost me $372.06, and a failed heater circuit on the main control board in November 2019 cost me $379.80. That's $751.86 in repairs in just over 3.5 years---more than the purchase cost. Now, the wheels are starting to fall off the bottom rack due to the connectors not holding them in place. Yet more money if I choose to keep throwing it at this money pit machine! I've contacted Whirlpool customer service numerous times, but my complaints have fallen on mostly deaf ears. They expressed their regret regarding my experience, but they refuse to acknowledge that I was the victim of a very poor-quality appliance. They cite the age of the machine as the reason they cannot offer me any kind of acceptable compensation. Apparently, 3-4 years meets their expectations for the lifetime of a machine, and that includes all the repairs. Unless they decide to raise their hand and admit that I got a lemon, I won't be purchasing another Whirlpool dishwasher in the future. I've spent far less money up front--with far less repairs costs--on other dishwasher in my 30+ years. I realize that prices have risen over the years, but I'm keeping this in perspective to the costs of Whirlpools over the years. This was my first Whirlpool, and my last, without being compensated for my very poor-quality experience. Research on Consumer Reports revealed the Bosch brand to be far superior to Whirlpool. I encourage anyone considering a Whirlpool to look at Bosch instead. However, if you want to look forward to repair bills and unresponsive customer service, Whirlpool is the one for you! Cleaning & Drying are no better than the $300 dollar builder grade. The only reason it's not one star is that it is semi-quiet. We had the Bosch 800 series in our previous house which is virtually the same cost. We never had a dirty or wet dish in the three years with the Bosch and the design was just good. With this whirlpool, the dishes are never dry and there's always dirty dishes left over. It's quieter, but not quiet. With the Bosch, the only indication it's running is the light. The only reason we bought the whirlpools was the builder only sold whirlpool and wife wanted the black stainless to match so we got the Whilrlpool dishwasher, refrigerator, range microwave and stove. We're selling and replacing all less than a year after moving in. Buy a Bosch dishwasher, not whirlpool, you'll thank me later.

After only 3 weeks of owning this the detergent dispenser broke. The utensil rack is very unstable and does not work well in either of its two positions. Today the clip fell off of the part the upper rack glides on and the little wheel came off its position. Took me an hour to get it back together. I never give bad ratings but this is a piece of junk and I would never recommend it to anyone.

Worked fantastic until it didn’t. Not sure when it started leaking, at least a few months ago from underneath, but it did and unbeknownst to us. Just a small leak which Cost us thousands in a new floor and walls.

...I moved from a rental unit where I lived for six years with an entry level Frigidaire dishwasher that cleaned EVERYTHING! I put in a baked mac & cheese Pyrex dish with burnt cheese around the edges. Came out SPOTLESS! With this Whirlpool dishwasher, with the same city water, same dishwashing pods, it barely removes rice starch from pots. I would always wonder why people rinsed dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, but now I see why! The third rack is useless so I took it out, but the rails are still there and prevents putting tall glasses on the edges of the top rack. If I had to do it again, I would just go with a higher level Frigidaire. This is my first and last Whirlpool purchase. I would replace it, but I bought the matching stove, microwave and french door fridge.

I have had this dishwasher for 2+ years. It is just about the worst appliance I've ever purchased. It is lovely. It is VERY quiet. There is a tiny little blue light near the handle so you can tell if it's on or finished. My dishes fit well. The silverware container can be hung on the door, or placed along the front of the lower basket, or along the left side. There is a 3rd rack at the top for utensils and that's nice. BUT .... it no longer dries anything, even with Jet Dry. The worst is that all the pieces of the top rack are just falling off, piece by piece. When I look at Amazon, you can see that they sell LOTS of parts, so I must not be the only customer with that problem. I would Not recommend this washer to anyone.

Started leaking from front door bottom. Flooded the wood floor and caused property damage.

The only reason I don't give this a better review is because 4 years later, one part goes out that cost about $450.

The unit failed in 1 year and 1 month. Conveniently just outside of the 1 year warranty period. Purchase of the new part ($185.00) and installation ($125.00) would have been close to purchasing another more reliable unit. Under no circumstance should a unit that cost over $600.00 fail in just over a years use of running 1 time each day.

Just out of the manufacturer's 12-month warranty and the motor had to be replaced. On average the dishwasher is used twice per week for our small family. The cost to replace the motor was nearly half of what we paid for the washer itself. Really disappointed in Whirlpool. Next one will be a Bosch.

I bought this yesterday and it was a horrible mistake. Trying to take it back to BB now....It will run but the heat dry does not work leaving the dishes soaking wet and then the power just shuts off and it wont come back on....I bought the warranty but I am wanting to just take it back, a new dishwasher should have to have a technician to come out and look at when its brand new....I am going to get a new dishwasher and it will not be a Whirlpool

DO NOT BUY this unit. Mine broke down after only a year and it stopped drying. The control panel board (a $200 part + installation) is NO LONGER MANUFACTURED. So You will be buying a unit that already has discontinued key parts!!!! As a gift, this unit is expensive. It is also garbage. Careful when you buy ANY Whirlpool appliance! This is irresponsible and should be illegal.
