Customers are saying

Customers regard the 24" Built-In Dishwasher with 1-Hour Wash Cycle highly for its quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance, frequently praising the convenience of the third rack. While some appreciate the dishwasher's capacity and ease of use, a few users noted longer than expected wash cycles and some concerns about the durability of the appliance.

I am writing this review after using for more then a year. The life of product is 1 yr to 1.5 yr. I recommend, not to buy any product from whirlpool, cheaper quality product manufacturer. When I bought this dishwasher, it was the high-end product. I DO NOT want to give even one star rating. Better to go for some other brand, if you do not want to take headache after 1 year. All the brand of whirlpool are of poor quality so avoid all of them. Similar experience I had with KitchenAid microwave.

We bought this in March of 2019 as of January 2020 it has had the main pump replaced and now the door seal. It’s has never dried the silverware or the dishes completely, no mater what cycle we use. It is very quiet, but who cares if it’s not working! I lodged a complaint before Halloween 2019 and it’s now January 2020 and they are still trying to fix it, it was down all through the Holidays. I wish I could get my money back. I will NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL AGAIN! Worst appliance I’ve ever had! Waste of money!

    Broken within First Year

We invested in this unit because we have children and no time for hand washing dishes if the unit breaks. The unit started acting up within 6 months of purchase and then broke entirely within 9 months of use. We bought geek squad protection but they said we had to process any repairs in the first year through whirlpool. The repairman whirlpool wants to send out will take at least two weeks to get to our home which is in one of the two largest cities in our state. Overall, we are very, very disappointed and would not recommend this unit or whirlpool.

I had this delivered and installed. After the guy was done doing this, he had me come in to the kitchen to see it. I noticed that it was the wrong color first, then I opened it up to look inside of it, the top rack had a broken hinge on the side and the door wouldn't close properly because it was broken also! Not happy

We are so disappointed. We just finished installing this Whirlpool dishwasher today and now we find it’s nowhere near as good as the 10-year-old unit we just replaced. The primary problems with this unit are: 1) The water does NOT heat to anywhere near what the manual says it will. I just ran a full cycle with all heating options enabled and the temperature never exceeded 110. Every cycle we’ve run is left with water throughout the interior of the unit. Over time, this would undoubtedly lead to mold and mildew problems. 2) The unit sprays water all over the floor when you open the door while it is running. Sounds kind of obvious, but our old Whirlpool never splashed so much water when you opened the door while it was running. There’s water to the left and right and below the door. We’re reaching out to Best Buy and Whirlpool to resolve this matter. It’s so incredibly disappointing to purchase an American built product and to see if fail so miserably.

We're sorry to hear this HoltFamilyTN. It is normal for water to spray out of the door if you open the dishwasher while it is running. You're incoming hot water must be a minimum of 120 degrees for your dishwasher to operate properly. If your water never got above 110 degrees, you will need to increase the temperature of your hot water heater. WhirlpoolBrand

Replaced after 3.5 years due to leakage

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Unit required full replacement after 3.5 years. Within first year, some of the small plastic pieces broke or ceased proper functionality (e.g soap dispenser door). After 2 years, full loads were not coming out as clean as they should. Did not know the motor was failing until the seal broke and unit began leaking water from under cabinet onto kitchen floor. Warranty company replaced motor & motor seal, fill valve, tub & door seals before finally junking the unit, determining the tub had warped. I've had good luck with Whirlpool in the past (I've purchased a side by side refrigerator, 2 ranges and 2 microwaves in 2 different homes, had zero issue with any of those. This dishwasher though? Hot garbage.

Apart from waiting 9 weeks to get this dishwasher I have to say I am extremely disappointed considering how everything thinks how amazing this dishwasher is . I have tried every setting and still after every wash all the dishes comes out soaking wet and have to dry it with a dishcloth. What is really mind blowing is its 2020 and this dishwasher is a 100 times worse than the one I swap out , apart from how old it looked it did a spectacular job , the dishes was clean and more importantly DRY ! Dont waste your money on this garbage

    Don't buy this machine!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I do not recommend this machine; within the first week of purchase I began to have problems with it. It decides when it will or will not start -- it chooses to have power or not have power. I've given up calling about it because I can't get it to repeat the problem on command. Now, 14 months into owning this machine, a pump has gone bad. This is annoying enough, but to make matters worse, it will take over a week (today is Saturday and it will be a week from Monday before it can be serviced due to needing parts shipped) to get it fixed. I bough a new machine to have it WORK. It shouldn't take so long to get a ONE YEAR OLD machine fixed -- it also shouldn't need to be fixed at this early stage. My last machine lasted over ten years without a single problem, but it wasn't a Whirlpool. I won't be purchasing this brand of appliance again.

I bought this Dishwasher, and had problems a couple of times now. This time it is about 3 weeks before running out of warranty and I called whirlpool a week ago. They said they couldn't find any availability for repair appointments and would have their specialists call me back in 3 days. It is a week later, I called them again. Their systems are down. Looking online, there are NO appointments available for over a month. Is this is a joke?

Just not good. Waiting until I’ve had it long enough where it makes financial sense to get rid of it. The arms keep getting clogged, and you have to rinse and scrub glasses before putting them in to get ‘dishwasher’ clean. The top arm is the worst, but the bottom arm gets clogged too. I had an LG for 5 years before this, and only ran into a clogged arm once. I’ve had this mode 6 months and I have to remove the arm almost 3 times a week. Poor design. While I rinse dishes before putting them in, I shouldn’t have to clean them fully first just to put them in a dishwasher....where they get dirtier.

Was quiet and looked nice, I'll give it that. Didn't clean well and dishes still very wet. I don't want to have to dry everything, especially silverware and plastic ware. And everytime you pulled the bottom rack out it would fall off the tracks, it seemed kind of flimsy. For the money I was very dissapiointed in this dishwasher. It was a pain, but we returned it to the store.

Plastic Broke after a year and weak cleaning

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Upper rack broke after 14 months (2 months after warranty expired). The little plastic rails that the rack rides on just busted off. It looks like I can buy the part for $40. Still frustrating. Also, like many washers these days, this one rarely gets all my dishes clean. I need to select “heavy” and “high temp wash” (which are not default options) on every load I do. Also, I need to selected “extended dry” on every load, or my dishes remain soaked. For being a trusted brand, this is not the dishwasher quality that I grew up with. Especially after paying $900, I expected much more.
