I am absolutely in love with this dishwasher, it's doing a great job so far, I ended up paying $887 for installation and the dishwasher itself. Installation took about an hour to complete and the staff was very quick, polite, and professional. They explained how to use the dishwasher once they were done with installation. There is plenty of space for all the dishes and the nice feature of this dishwasher is that theres a designated utensil shelf on the side of the door of dishwasher wich frees up a lot of space for additional dishes. Everything comes out spotless with no residue or debris, which was not the case with my previous dishwasher. I had a GE profile dishwasher it was around 7-8 years old and it was just doing a horrible job, leaving dishes dirty with food pieces stuck to it, And we had to rewash almost every single dish after each cycle. At some point I just stopped using it and was hand washing dishes. After 4 months I thought it's time for a new dishwasher and I started to search online thinking of getting a new GE dishwasher, thinking that it was just old and needed to be updated to the latest model. However, from all the reviews that I've read on Best Buy a lot of people were saying that GE leaves dishes dirty, and I decided to look at other brands and found that Whirlpool was the one that matched my requirements (price and quality) and I'm not disappointed with my choice! I've had it for a month and I haven't washed a single dish yet. Dishwasher is equipped with the filter that you can take out and wash, you can also take the water spinners out to wash them as well which is nice!

We bought this dishwasher to replace our old one that stopped working. We were originally looking at the non stainless steel interior tub, but went with this one on the recommendation from the guy at Best Buy. I like it because it is stain resistant and looks and smells clean. Install is fairly easy, if your a little bit handy, you can do it yourself and save some money. The best thing about this dishwasher is that if you follow instructions, you should have no problem getting clean, dry dishes every time. The instructions say they you should not pre-clean the dishes, and you do not need to pre-clean. I spent my entire life up to this moment pre-cleaning dishes. If you use the correct cleaning pod ( I use Cascade Platinum and Cascade Rinse Aid), you will have clean spotless dishes every time. Of course, you need to scrap the chunks of food off, and I at least run them under the water, but it amazes me how clean it gets them. The rinse aid helps with drying and keeping the tub clean. I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone. Oh, it is very quiet. I know our old one was loud, but when I first ran this one, I almost kept checking to see if something was wrong, because I could barely hear it.

I bought this as a replacement for a cheapo builders special that was no longer doing the job. I wanted a stainless tub and something that really washed well. Based on reviews, I purchase this model sight unseen. So far, it seems to be working well. There are only two issues that I've had. One being that fact that the old dishwasher mounting holes in the granite counter did not seem to line up well to the tabs for this model. We tried to use the side mount kit instead and that ended up blowing out the wood side of the cabinet. I don't know why these have to be so hard to mount. Second issue which is really more of the reason why I took a star off. I hate hate hate the silverware basket. You have the option of putting it on the lower rack OR mounted on the door. On the lower rack, its totally unstable and flops around. However, on the door, is a pain in the neck. I probably would have passed on this model just for this had I known how clumsy the silverware holder was. Maybe I'm picky, I don't know. FOr something used every day, I think its important not to get frustrated with it.

    Absolute garbage, esp with silverware

We got this dishwasher in February to replace an old Maytag model that was not draining properly. While this machine is much quieter and gets the top rack fairly clean, I expected a lot better. This is WORSE at cleaning than our 10+ year old Maytag, and yes we have used the (expensive) recommended cleaning pods. Oftentimes plates come out with crud baked onto them. I'm not talking went in with baked on crud. I'm talking like bits of guacamole get somehow hardened onto the plates. And the silverware? Forget about it. Absolute garbage. I think this may have to do with the two location options for the utensil basket being the door itself or the left-hand wall. Not in the dead center over the rotating arm like older models. You don't even have to crowd stuff in here to have poor performance, although that certainly makes it worse and allows you a severely limited number of utensils per wash. You cannot have more than two pieces per compartment, or about 8-10 pieces per wash. In fact, the dishwasher does you the favor of flinging food particles into the basket if you have it on the door. And it does a horrific job of removing things like peanut butter from knives. (The attached photo is after using a paper towel before loading to wipe off excess peanut butter because we're trying our best here.) This pictured knife was in a compartment by itself, not cupping or touching anything else. You basically use this dishwasher to sterilize. That's it. Have fun hand-washing everything first.

    Disappointed over time

We have had this dishwasher for almost a year now. Initially, it seemed okay. It is very quiet, which we like, but the dishwasher does a terrible job of getting the dishes clean. We use jet dry in the rinse agent drawer and have tried different detergents, using different cycles (sensor, normal, etc). We usually rinse our dishes off first before putting them in the dishwasher but are finding that if we don't completely remove any food particles, the food will remain on the dishes after they have been washed. We have used the utensil rack both on the door and in the bottom tray, but the silverware does not come clean either way. I have purposely place items so they will be in direct contact with the spray arms and still they come out dirty. We previously had a whirlpool dishwasher for 20 years and I'm sorry we got rid of that unit - it was better built and did a much better job of cleaning dishes.

It's too soon to give a final verdict on this - we've only had the dishwasher a couple of months - but it's quiet and does a good job cleaning. It doesn't get all our dishes completely dry, but neither has any other dishwasher we've ever owned (we have a lot of plastic tumblers, etc.). Our previous dishwasher was highly rated by CR as being quiet, but this one is noticeably quieter - the kitchen and family room are really one big room, and we can watch TV or talk without the dishwasher interrupting anything, which wasn't quite true of the previous one. Finally, it has a 1 hr cycle which my wife LOVES. So I did good buying this dishwasher. (And it was pretty easy to install - the directions were clear enough and the kit that is recommended for this has all the parts I needed.)

This dishwasher is very aesthetically pleasing. I wanted one where the controls didn't show but I also needed it to have a flat front (no handle) due to space concerns. That really narrowed down my choices, so I went with this one based on the reviews and the price. I also wanted one that was quiet. This thing is VERY QUIET. The first one that was delivered had clearly been crushed by a forklift. Best Buy was great to work with in terms of getting a replacement one back out to me. I thought I'd love the silverware bucket being on the door, but I actually really dislike it. I also feel like the silverware doesn't come out as clean as it should. Maybe that's because of where the silverware bucket is? Or maybe it's the dishwasher itself? I'm not sure, but that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. I rewash silverware a lot.

Due to a tight place for it, installers had hard time of getting it set right, with all loose insulation pads with it. However, now when it is in place, it looks like always been there. There is a little vent on the left of the door we had not noticed before, and we were afraid that there will be steam coming out of it. Luckily this is not the case. Washing results were clearly better than with our old washer, and sound is MUCH quieter. Only negative point: start button is very close to the "handle" where you open the door in our case (right side of the door). Have to get used to opening the door from center or left, so that you don't accidentally turn it on when opening it for putting more dishes in.

    The dishwasher performed well for about a year when it started misbehaving, not dissolving the detergent pellets or emptying the water. It turned out to be a bad motor. The tech said he has seen a lot of this particular problem. The motor has been redesigned, but he is not certain the problem has been solved. Fortunately, we have another year remaining on our warranty - thank you Costco! I also asked him what the repair would have cost out of warranty; his response was $500 - $600! The bottom line is appliances are being made cheaper and cheaper. It used to be refrigerators would last 20 - 30 years;

I want to preface that this is for the second unit I received. The first unit arrived with a crack in the plastic panel were you set/start/stop the dishwasher. Best Buy customer service was very helpful and replaced it no questions asked. Now for the actual review. Quality is very good. Well built based on first impressions. Works great so far and have been using it for a month. Cleans and dries the dishes very well. Stainless steel inside looks much better than some me of the plastic ones. Features are good and the touch settings are easy to use. It’s also very quiet due to the additional insulation you get at this price point.

It's very quiet. Hate hate hate everything else. Utensil tray is a flimsy joke... and it's gray, so you can't see the silverware. There is NO PLACE to put large utensils, fortunately I kept the utensil rack out of my old dishwasher and am using that. Top rack spacing is ludicrous. The center row too wide and the two rows on either side of it are too narrow. I find myself just throwing things in the top rack which is frustrating. Need a flashlight to see if the rinse aid dispenser is full. Rinse aid is essential otherwise dishes are still dirty. Am running this dishwasher way more often since it holds about 30% fewer dishes. And it's ugly. But hey, saved 10% when we bought four pieces. Thank goodness the whirlpool refrigerator is fantastic.

This was simple for me to install (I am a DIY). It is surprisingly quiet and is working very well, considering our hard well water. We have used it for 2 months without any real complaints. There is a bit of a learning curve but we are using the recommended detergent pods and rinse aid. My only little criticism is the utensil basket which has many slots that are to small for our every day silverware. Also, kudos to Best Buy for their price match guarantee. I would MUCH prefer to buy locally than on-line. Especially TVs and computers and the like where they are just a few miles down the road if I need assistance.

Pros: Sleek look. Cleans dishes well. Quiet. Utensil holder in door gives more room on bottom rack for pots, pans and plates Cons: Takes quite a while (2-3 hours on normal wash setting). Top shelf is not set up as well as it could be for maximum dish placement. Does not dry the dishes as well as our old unit. This dishwasher is better than "Good" but I didn't think it qualified as "excellent". It was a good deal compared to others we looked at with similar amenities and Best Buy made sure we got the best price.

I bought this to replace a seven-year-old Samsung that I had to pull out and fix on three separate occasions. After I installed it I ran it for the first time and was immediately impressed by the quietness of its operation. We've had a year and I still love it is got endless possibilities for wash and rinse Cycles as well as drying options and it runs is quiet today is the day I first installed it. It's easy to load easy to run and does a good job of washing the dishes. And I really like the fact that you can remove the silverware tray

The first dishwasher delivered had a dent in the side of the door that you couldn't see unless the door was open. Best Buy replaced it quickly. My wife says that the dishwasher functions as described by the salesman, and she is pleased with the results. It is quiet, which is definitely a positive. Let's hope we will never have to use the extended warranty we purchased. I should mention that it might take some time getting used to the "hidden" controls that on the top of the door, and can't be seen when it is closed. However, it is a nice feature if there are young children in the house.

This Whirlpool unit replaced our Kenmore Elite and snuggly fit in the same cabinet slot. The new unit is much quieter than the Kenmore but it is also smaller inside. Maybe due to more sound dampening. The plumbing valves are more gentle too. No pipe hammering like with our Kenmore. Overall I’m very happy but the wife does not like the smaller payload and the silverware rack being on the door so I took the old silverware rack from the Kenmore and put in the bottom rack of the Whirlpool. Last, the heating coil is smaller but seems to dry ok. Overall a good value at $550.

When changing our dishwasher, we were looking for two things within our budget: 1. A drying element 2. Quiet It was surprising to learn that many newer dishwashers don't include a drying element anymore. We were tired of having to hand dry out dishes after running the washer, so this was a must have. Once we narrowed it down to drying dish washers, we wanted to find the one with the lowest Db with good ratings. This was it. It had a rating of up to 5 DBs less than similar priced units. So far we are very happy with out purchase.

I really like this dishwasher; the internal layout of the racks makes loading it super easy. There is plenty of room for everything. The stainless steel interior always looks great. And it is unbelievable how super quiet it is! I barely know that it is running. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because the dishes aren't as dry as I think they should be. However, this isn't a deal breaker for me and might be due to the environmental concerns. Wish I could award 4.5 stars.

When my previous dishwasher died, I wanted to purchase a quality machine with some bells and whistles, and this Whirlpool fits the bill. It has an upper shelf that can be raised and lowered, and I find that I can fit more in the machine than my last one. Sometimes my dishes are still a bit wet when the cycle is over, but not every time. Also, the movable utensil holder isn't that sturdy when placed either on the end of the bottom rack, or against the door. But these are minor, and overall I like the dishwasher.

Everything about this unit seems to be just right. Wife loves the position of the silverware drawer. Don't like the fact that the controls are on the top of the door requiring you to have to open the door in order to access them. Sometimes have to shut it off during a cycle to put additional items in .. scares me to open the door when it's full of water. Should have engineered a pause button accessible from the front. Works fine however.
