water line has froze twice. as a matter of fact, it’s froze for the second time right now and I’m assuming it’s defrosting from around the lights on the ceiling of the refrigerator it’s dripping. I currently have a bowl sitting in the refrigerator to catch all of the water that’s running all over the place. I would not recommend this refrigerator at all.

Bought May 2020 and by June 2021 the LED lights in the freezer stopped working. It’s now July 2021 and the refrigerator top LED lights are very dim and keep going out. Not happy with the quality of whirlpool. And would never recommend. My KENMORE, that this replaced, lasted 10 years and I can’t even get a couple of years without problems from whirlpool?!

Had the fridge for a little over a month now, and overall it's great. The finish is smooth and looks good. Doors open, close, and stay sealed with no issues. Went from a 17 year old wide by side to this french door. The amount of refrigerator space is nice. It's large and you get a lot of drawers. The meats and vegetables have plenty of room for storage. The door can hold gallon jugs. The shelves have good latitude for making room for tall items. The slide away shelf to make room for tall items on the fly is a great idea. The slide out draw makes it easy to grab items even in the back of it. The freezer potion makes good use of space. The bin on top of the drawer gives ample room to hold food and ice packs. The pizza slot in the front of the freezer door is another great function. Moves the big boxes out of the way and they are easy to retrieve. The only downside is the ice and water maker. It's in the refrigerator section, so it's isolated in the door. When you open the door the section is exposed to outside air. The functions from making ice to dispensing water are loud, but the entire refrigerator is loud when it does anything. That's not too big a deal overall. The water dispenser drips after dispensing. You have to keep you cup there for extra 5 seconds or so to make sure the water has completed coming. I did the trouble shooting instruction in the manual and no difference. Sometime ice cubes or condensation, not sure what, get caught in the chute or somewhere in the dispensing cycle and melt leaving drops of water. They aren't under the water dispenser, so that's the only theory I have on where random water drops are coming from. The activation mechanism only works when the top of the is moved. Short glasses need to be held up to get water or ice. The ice cubes are smaller, but it nice since I can put them in smaller bottles. The ice making time isn't the quickest. The controls are simple to use and let set temperatures, ice or water, and light settings. There is a door open to long and temperature alarm. Changing the water and air filter is easy. The air filter has an indicator on it, and the water filter is tracked by the refrigerator and its life can be seen on the LED screen. Overall, the refrigerator is good, but the ice/water section is a weak point.

I bought this to replace a 4 year old fridge with a failed linear compressor. I'm hoping this one is more reliable. Pros: Compressor is fairly quiet. Ice maker produces ice very quickly. Nice lighting. Lots of room. Magnets stick to it! Too early to tell on reliability. Cons: Ice dispenser is really loud. Water dispenser is in front of ice dispenser so you have to push the paddle with your hand and hold smaller containers in front. Doors swing open very easily. Pull out bottom tray wastes space and could just be a shelf instead. Biggest gripe is the shelves are not flush with the back of the refrigerator so there are gaps. Items fall down the back and get stuck behind the pull out tray so then you have to dig back there and get them out or the tray will not go back in. Nitpicky, but wish the top freezer basket would pull out when you pulled the door open and then you would have to push it back to get to the bottom one. Hear an occasional groaning sound like a slipping belt. No idea what it is, but hope it isn't bad. Also hear what sounds like some debris flipping around when the compressor runs that's a little concerning. There are groves on my wood floor when it was rolled back now, but that may be because the guys had to take the front roller feet off to get it in the house and they may not have got them back on square to the floor. Something to keep in mind if you have wood floors.

Love his fridge. Have had it a month now. Ive experimented with veggies/fruit in the crispers. WHAT A DIFFERENCE from my last fridge. Im not joking...but Ive had a basket of strawberries and a head of lettuce in there about 3 weeks. Still edible and healthy. I know, sounds gross...but I was experimenting and Im glad I did. I was shocked my strawberries lasted 1 week let alone 3. Lol. The ice basket is the perfect size for me and my 4 person family. And it does not interfere with the space inside fridge. Ice basket easy to remove and replace. The freezer section is incredibly easy to keep organized as well as the fridge section. A lot of room! This unit is very very quiet. The door water/ice are easy to navigate. And im a fan of crushed ice. There is always a drop of water or 2 that seems to escape after I use it but I keep a small paper towel there to catch it. It is not a problem for me. I love that no fingerprints are all over the place and super easy to wipe down. I honestly cannot think of ONE NEGATIVE! I LOVE IT. MY KIDS ARE TIRED OF ME SAYING SO! LOL. I bought his open box so I got a great deal. It was in PERFECT condition when I bought it. Only one small dent occurred during the delivery process but it is not noticable where I have my fridge placed. Best buy honored their delivery process and sent me a gift card to make up for that. I did buy the extended warrantee as I do on all my large appliance purchases. I learned the hard way on a dryer (maytag) I bought from best buy. I am a whirlpool fan and I will not stray again. Never had issues with this brand. 10 star purchase!

In my research of a refrigerator, I decided that the best configuration would be French doors with a single drawer freezer on the bottom. I didn't like the silly big touchscreens that we got tired of using after 10 minutes or so in the store. I didn't like the doors that have a "flap" that allows access to drinks or other items in the right-hand door. It makes the door unnecessarily complex and looks like it would fall apart or leak cold air at some point. I don't like the center drawer because it makes the main "chamber" of the fridge very small. Ok, so here's why I really like this fridge: It is a 2019 model with MUCH improved fingerprint-resistance. NOTHING sticks to the surface at all. Everything wipes off perfectly. The freezer has a dedicated slot for large boxes like frozen pizza or waffles. The freezer also has a second drawer. There's also an option for a second icemaker if you need lots of ice. The ice maker keeps up with our family of four with no problem (relatively quiet when dumping the ice also). The refrigerator section is really intelligently laid out and has a really useful wide drawer for large items, shelves that changeable for depth, allowing tall containers in the main section. Also, in this 2019 model, there's a center beverage drawer that holds soda cans or juice boxes perfectly, keeping them out of the way. They also changed the configuration of the ice-maker, taking it out of the main fridge and placing it completely in the left door. I keep emphasizing "the 2019 model" because the previous model of this fridge didn't have the smart storage configuration, better fingerprint resistance, better ice maker, etc. Also in my research, I heard horror stories about Samsungs having not only an unacceptable failure rate but hard to get parts that have to be shipped from Korea. I also noticed that lot's of these fridge's are are sold as different brand names and dressed up differently with different branding. Anyway, this fridge has been great! It's quiet, cools down perfectly, and is really useful for storing lots of food while still offering easy access to everything inside.

My wife and I had an old side-by-side when we purchased our new home a year ago. We finally bought this fridge a month ago for the black Friday sale. It's definitely an upgrade over our previous fridge because there's a LOT more room, which we really like. It holds a good amount of ice. The ice-maker is a bit noisy when it begins making ice, but I don't know if that's because we're not used to it (our old one did not have a water line hooked up), or if that's just how they are. It is only temporary, it doesn't last too too long. It is also kind of annoying that you can't rest your glass on the shelf of the water dispenser and pour water. You physically have to hold it up towards the top. You'd think with such a long level, you could just press it in at the bottom. Even using a 30oz Yeti to get water/ice you need to hold it high on the lever. Either mine does not work properly, or this was a poor design. The water also shoots out very close to the front of smaller cups, rather than towards the center of them. The space is about as customizable as any fridge out there. I do wish the door shelves had sides that weren't quite as high, but that's not a big deal at all really. Overall, my only complaints are the noise of the ice maker and the poor design of the water dispenser. Other than this, so far it's been a great fridge.

We have had this Whirlpool Refrigerator for 6 months. We really like it. It has plenty of space. We are happily surprised by the storage room in the door containers. We can really use this space for all of the smaller containers and can allowing us to use the internal space for larger items. It is at time a bit noisy, but nothing annoying. I think the water dispenser layout and design can be improved. The water dispensing outlet is too forward and when using smaller glasses water can be spilled. We really enjoy the freezer drawer space and design. It helps us organize items in the freezer. I do recommend this refrigerator, just those minor details.

I graduated to this fridge from a 27-year old GE 18.2 cubic foot fridge - a 47% increase in size, plus a through-the-door ice maker! I filled the huge freezer surprisingly fast with on-sale meat and enjoy I can store so much more in the freezer! The noise level is about the same as my older fridge, but I have very sensitive hearing. I was a little worried about ice production but I haven't come close to running out. I used the fast ice setting once just before I had a party (about 20 people) and there wasn't an ice supply issue. The interior is so bright with the LEDs and the temperature is accurate based on my digital food thermometer. While I can't say for sure it's the new fridge, my electric bill went down by about 5% YOY. There's lots of space and the internal arrangements are almost infinite. I have a moderate-sized kitchen so it definitely looks like a beast ... in a good way! My only concern is you have to run so much water through new filters. If you don't, the water tastes "oily". I use about 3% of the filter's life doing so. And the filters aren't exactly cheap. You can run it without filters, but I can taste the difference the filter makes when compared to tap water. I doubt it will last 27 years like my last fridge ... but I can hope! It was a major investment (wait for a sale if you can) but I think it was worth it.

I bought a brand new home. The biggest investment of my entire life. With a new house, I needed a new fridge. I searched other applicant stores and could not find another deal better than this one. I have had my refrigerator of a month now and everything is going Great!!!! It took some adjusting to the sound ice maker but overall it's Great. The doors shut evenly and the trays and drawers are even and easy to open and close. However the shelves on the inside of the door was confusing and I think I'm missing a smaller shelf. There's plenty of space in the freezer for me. Overall, I would recommend this refrigerator to family and friends.

Great looking fridge and it works well. We really like all the space and we’ll lit interior. Only odd thing is the water dispenser, if you put your glass against the button to dispense water the the water misses the glass. If you hold the glass and push your hand against the button while holding the glass it works fine. Just need to get use to that. Other than that we love the fridge.

I researched a long time. Our previous French door was from Samsung and had issue after issue after leak after fan freezing and ice maker quitting and after 5 years we tossed it. I asked my new friend, the technician who kept coming to our house to fix it, which brand to buy and he told me this brand and this model. Whirlpool is reliable and they put the ice maker in the door which he explained how smartly engineered that was and he’ll never see issues with them. We’ve had it two months and absolutely love it! It’s quieter then our Samsung model was. Way more intuitively engineered and thoughtfully designed. And unlike our Samsung, has not required three services in the first 30 days, the first being the day after it was turned on.

I am under the impression that you cannot win when purchasing a refrigerator. My previous KitchenAid died in 4 1/2 years. It kept freezing behind the drawer and KitchenAid only covered one part. We had it repaired 3 times and all of the repair techs told me not to go with dual cooling and to pick a Whirlpool product. We have a person with special needs and a fridge has to meet certain criteria. I spent a day driving around and looking at fridges. A lot of models had broken parts and bins on the showroom floor. If they break that easy I don't want to purchase that. Quality has really came down. Bins are made of lighter plastic and there is a lot less metal than there used to be. The shelves on this unit are glass and are adjustable. There is also a shelf that you can slide and it turns into a half shelf. The bottom shelf pulls out slightly on the bottom of the fridge. Slightly helpful. It comes with 2 bins for the left door and 3 bins for the right door. But it doesn't include a half bin for the bottom of the right door. I had to purchase from Whirlpool for $72. We use that space for some small items. It should have came with that bin. The bin drawers inside the fridge have little rollers and can easily come off track. I do like the 3 bin design and you can have pop cans in the middle bin. The meat drawer is also very handy. Temperature is an issue. Because it doesn't have dual cooling temperatures vary greatly. The freezer is set to 0 and actually reads 1 degree. The fridge temp is set to 37 degrees and reads 34 in the meat drawer, 39 in the middle of the fridge and 46 degrees on the top shelf. I hadn't opened the fridge for 2 hours and the freezer for 3 hours. Your fridge should be at 40 degrees or lower. The ice maker is slow but adequate. Hold your glass up or you will have ice everywhere. The water dispensing is the flaw. After you fill your glass you need to leave it in place for 10 seconds or it will drip, splash and run down the front of the fridge. The freezer has a pizza slot, divided bottom and one pull out top bin. It is adequate but I miss my 2 drawers and bottom bin on the old fridge. Hopefully this one will last longer but I have no confidence in appliance manufacturers anymore.
